All one needs is the desire and the discipline to make the change and stick with it. Thanks for all you & Reebs do. As someone who has been dealing with cancer, It’s certainly made a difference in my life.

I needed this reminder, so thanks much! I have shown over the last 6 months that you can eat 99% vegan (have eaten a few things my wife made that had dairy) and still gain weight (about 15 pounds). Several years ago after I first read The Chine Study I ate almost perfectly for about 6 months, and have not done that well again since then. At 62, I'm too old to play these games. Has to be 100% WFPB with my family history. This will be my go-to RUclips channel.

Such great advice. I have struggled for 6 months to continue losing weight at the rate I initially lost on the WFPB program only to realize after looking at your free PDF why - I have been eating too many of the dry carbs each day. Once I cut back and started eating more veggies, etc the pounds started to melt off right away. Such good advice. Thank you!
Hah! I love Dillon's plant rants. Thank you thank you thank you for again reiterating NOT to overcomplicate things. You are so right that it is definitely easy to get bogged down in trying to be perfect about the food.
I recently let myself gain 15 pounds, because I was simply eating a diet too high in caloric density. I'd gotten into the habit of eating these HUGE meals of chickpeas, and/or beans cooked nice and thick, whole wheat pasta, and I was sort of skimping on my raw veggies and fruit. So, the density of my diet was around 700 calories per pound, and I was adding tons of these delicious salt-free spice blends and lemon pepper, and vinegars, which was putting me close _enough_ to Pleasure Trap-territory, to gain weight. So....I simply made one change. I added 3 pounds of non-starchy vegetables to my daily diet. I almost instantly started losing weight, half a pound a day, without even trying. My weight peaked out at 185 pounds a week ago, and I'm 178 today. Now, some of that is water weight, and I figure that about half of it is actual bodyfat loss. My goal weight is 165, by the way;) I'm not hungry AT ALL, in fact quite stuffed! Losing that little bit of excess weight, with only as much effort as cooking up a couple heads of red cabbage every afternoon.

I watch a number of whole-foods, vegan RUclipsrs, and the two Well Your World hosts are probably the closest to my own philosophy and how I eat. I think Well Your World is bit more on the starch emphasis like Dr. John McDougall, whereas I am a bit more on the Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn side, meaning I lean more toward veggies being of greater quantity but still making sure I have some sort of starch in there so that I fill up. But whatever, we both have starches and veggies on our plate at all times. I also think that's fantastic advice about not worrying about all those crazy details like eating one thing first before you eat everything else, or combining one specific veggie with another, and so on and so on. Plus, like Well Your World, I could care less when I die; I have no control over that; when it happens, it happens. But I do care that while I have to live on this planet, I don't want to be paralyzed due to a stroke, or I don't want to have to inject myself multiple times per day with insulin, or I don't want to have to be on any medications. And that's all stuff I (all of us) have control over. 😃
Thanks to you both for your dedication and hard work! I cannot wait for the arrival of your second baby! Love watching you guys and your growing family. Thanks for all the awesome videos. Love your recipes. 🥰
I tried. Really tried. For 5 years I ate 100% WFPB and got SO BORED with the bland, unfulfilling foods. I stuffed myself with salads, complex carbs (brown rice, potatoes, etc). I got sick and tired of complex recipes and meal prep for myself. I got tired of not being able to go out with my friends and family and enjoy a meal out. In order to find foods I truly enjoyed eating, I HAD to add salt/oil/sugars to them. Not having a supportive family didn't help. I initially lost 70 pounds and was happy with the weight loss and how I "felt", but I missed delicious rich food so much I couldn't stick with it. I'm back where I started. I was/am super jealous of people who lost their cravings for things like cheese and dairy. I never lost it. If it were legal, I would've hurt someone for a slice of cheddar or a blue cheese crumble on my salads! No, "vegan cheese" doesn't taste like the real thing - and I couldn't try the nut varieties due to allergies. Was never much of a snacker or sweets lover. My only real cravings (outside of dairy) were for chips/salsa. I've had the oil free corn tortillas. Didn't like them but I ate them. I've eaten so many potatoes now that they make me ill to even look at "plain." People who say things like "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" are those types who eat to live, but I live to eat. My father was one of those - he used to say he wished he could just take a pill to get his nutritional needs met because the man just hated to take time to enjoy a meal. My mom and I were the opposite. I did find a love for seitan and tofu and a wider variety of veggies, but I've given up WFPB. I just couldn't make it work for me.

Thank you Dillon and Reebs! Love your Tshirts; where do you get them? It's a good way to promote healthy eating. Congratulations on your new Bambino! I love your starch blaster and Mexican Charro Beans. Also I love all three of your cookbooks.
My goal is to drop dead too 😂🤣🤣, I tell my daughter I just want to go one day. I don’t want to be sick. Thank you for the video. I still worry a little about whether Im eating healthy enough. Specially since people and family always comment on how we are not getting enough nutrients.
Question: I'm much older than you and over the years have found when I eat a lot of carbs throughout the day (such as oatmeal, potatoes, WW pasta, Brown/black rice, etc) I gain weight. I am vegan and have been since mid 90's but it just seems that an over consumption of carbs makes me gain weight. Not sure why. How do I find that happy medium where I can lose weight but still get enough healthy calories in? Also I still work and my husband & I like to have 'snacks' during the day. We take veggies & fruit, but we like things to go with the veggies. I make pesto, and almond butter and I can alot, so have canned hot peppers and pickled beets and things like that canned. However, they do contain small amounts of oil and/or sugar. How do you develop healthy snacks without all the oils and sugars? For the sugars, I try to use maple or date, but its still sugar. For oils, I always use avocado. But like you say, its still oil and empty calories. Can you do a video (if you haven't already) on just healthy snacks to eat?? Thanks. I enjoy your recipes and hope to get this lifestyle down to where it does seem more simple. Oh yea and one last thing, what do you put on your salads (I don't like plain vinegar) and what type of sauces do you make for your vegetables?
HELP!!! I understand calorie density, I do. BUT to loose weight, I still have to stick to 1200 calories for my body. I was following a couple of really good ladies who eat MOUNDS of food. But that just makes me gain weight.
What he is saying to lose weight works. Stay away from processed foods. Has no nutrition and doesn’t fill you up. Whole foods plant based you can eat mounds of veggies and lose weight.
Generally that is metabolic damage from dieting long-term. If you gradually increase the amount you eat and are very strict about eliminating oil processed foods and sugar you should be able to start eating more. if you can't figure it out, talk to one of the plant-based doctors and they'll get you straightened out. 😊
I second what the first comment said about metabolic damage. Unfortunately if you eat super low cals (e.g. 1200 calories) you will suffer. You will always be hungry and never satisfied and eventually fall off. On top of that your metabolism likes to be in homeostasis, or comfortable. So if you eat 1200 calories, eventually your metabolism will stop burning as many calories and you will stop losing weight at 1200 and the only alternative is to eat less which is essentially starvation. Also long term dieting makes it so you suffer metabolic damage. The best approach is to slowly eat more - maybe 50 to 100 calories every two weeks to allow your metabolism to catch up. It’s a great way to eat more without gaining. Once you start gaining consistently you will know you’ve hit your threshold. From there you can start cutting calories - but again, dieting for long term is not good. Check out resources on reverse dieting - it’s super helpful!!
No more counting calories for me I was following or am following a French lady who eat Whole Foods and she is for no calorie counting is her number one rule

My entire family is obese, despite the fact that 2 of them have had weight loss surgery. I have eaten this way for years and am the only one with a healthy weight. I am going to make them watch this video because you said all of the things I've always said to them, but they ignore me. Maybe they'll listen if it comes from someone else! Yes, we LOVE the food we eat. I genuinely do not enjoy the taste of junk food or rich, super sweet desserts anymore and they just don't believe me for some reason. If this doesn't get through to them, nothing will. Btw, my dad is about to be 70 and he's been on blood pressure meds for years. He said his doctor told him that with age, you just have to take meds because your body doesn't function correctly. So thank you for specifically mentioning that detail! He thinks it's inevitable. But he eats eggs, sausage and toast with butter every morning for breakfast. Wish me luck! :)

He sells SOS-free dressings and sauces.
I just found you and I’m think if I did my wife and I go on dates and I need some help ordering on a plant-based food lifestyle

I too am struggling to loose without counting calories i’ve been sticking to all the rules of calorie density and gained two lbs. 😢
Try plantiful Kiki 🙏♥️🙏
No more counting calories for me I was following or am following a French lady who eat Whole Foods and she is for no calorie counting is her number one rule

*The whole subtext of this (via nonverbals and tone) is " why the eff are you fat in this day and age with all this science and tested knowledge avaiilable literally at your fingertips...for free????"
I AGREE rotfl.
