People don't understand that FENTY wasn't so successful just becos it's Rihanna, but becos they really did their research and came through for what was missing in the beauty industry. Rihanna made it a priority to INCLUDE EVERYONE and made EVERYONE feel special about their skin tone. I just love RiRi, she paid attention!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Niké legit is delusional…she thinks Bria is calling out Tarte for clout…😟 and not because she was actually harmed…that woman is giving raging narc vibes. Manipulator, grandiose sense of self, extreme sense of self importance, projection onto others, capitalizing on the misfortune of others….this is the REAL problem.
and who tf is she to say how anyone should go about being an influencer lmao. some people go out of their way for that shit (ie calculated pr moves, motivated by financial gain) while others just wanna play with makeup and have fun doing it, but just so happen to garner attention from doing it. she managed to completely miss the point of this girl “calling out” (which was really just recounting her own experience) tarte because SHE is the one constantly playing chess and would use an incident like that as a form of clout. like you said, projection at its finest.
Damn Niké really got a WYD text/call from Tarte and hopped on a plane. No official or formal invite. Just a "Hey, can you get on a plane because our first choice of black girl stood us up" 😂😂😂 Wild!
Stop demanding make-up companies to change for us! There are WAYYY too many companies out there that are catering to our skin complexion. We don’t need to be thirsty. This is not a relationship. We need to break up with them and move on!
But that is not a,solution. We dont even have a lot of black owned beauty brands. Mielle isnt even black owned anymore. WHERE THE HELL ARE WE GOING TO GO TO?
@@tondaniraluswinga2590 The solution is not selling their companies to white people. Their products will be hyped by yt folks and go viral, they sell their company to yt people and they change the formula because the products don't work for them. This happened to several black owned companies and that needs to stop as well. Compared to before, there are way more companies who are willing to sell darker shades, it's better to not ask a chronically racist company to create a shade for darker complexions so they can stab you in the back.
Dear Fellow Black women: Stop trying to be included. We've seen that as soon as we ignore them and do our own thing, there they come a'calling. We have so much power we're unaware of as a collective!
In 2017 I got my first ever office job at Tarte doing customer service. I was so excited until my second day when they asked us to line up in order of skin color- lightest to darkest. It was so shocking and humiliating. They were apparently trying to find all of our undertones (cool, neutral, warm etc…) by holding up a white piece of printer paper to our faces. I will never understand making us line up like that. AND on top of all of that, the woman testing for undertones SKIPPED me. Humiliated for no reason. I worked there during the 2018 blow back for lack of inclusive shades. When they decided to make the extender shades, groups of white women would come down to the customer service team (bc there were no black woman in the higher positions) and try to test out the new shades on different black girls. They asked and I agreed KNOWING it would be a sh*t show. Two white women put foundation on half of my face, didn’t even offer me a mirror and stood over me saying to themselves “wow that looks really good”. When I finally got a mirror I burst out laughing. It looked like they had painted half of my face orange. I said “I would never wear this hahaha” and the women looked genuinely shocked and said “never?!” I have more horror stories of racism at that job, trust me. So yeaaaahhhh Tarte is not it for black folk. They do not care about us. I would never support that brand in my life.
You can't be trying to make a "power move" by using racism to your advantage but at the same time admit to being happy just to be invited. Are you playing chess or not?
@@carrington2949That is what I found so strange. Lmaooooooo There’s lots of beautiful , dark skinned women out there that aren’t mean girls. It’s like the brand is making fun of us. They just gave masculine, mean girl energy.
Bria: she’s playing victim. She knew what Tarte was. She still chose to align with them. what she really wanted was to be there on Sunday with her friends. She didn’t care about black women, because if she did she wouldn’t have even accepted the trip in the first place. Nike: she’s honestly a loser and just destroyed her 14yr invisible career. Thinking she’s putting people on game when in reality just ranked the crumbs of her career. Fannita: honestly has been getting on my nerves with the way she speaks. I used to like her but she doing too much. All of this for a trip to Miami and makeupsssss is wild. If you choose to align with Tarte I have no sympathy for you.
Bria situation is weird if your following isn’t that big why would you expect the perks as big creators. She was just there for some diversity points that’s it.
Exactly! Bria was ok with being a token until she didn't get what she wanted then had the nerve to hold everyone else to higher standard. Girl have a seat!
@Zion45005 that's the point. People have been accusing this company of this BS since 2015-ish and that didn't stop her from wanting to go. She's a hypocrite.
The only issue I have with Bria in this situation is that she wasn’t saying anything about the brand when she was their token and the only one among all the other white influencers…she wasn’t crying + advocating for them to have more black inclfuencers BUT now that she felt slighted she wanna say something. Niké on the other hand needs Jesus and that’s all.
Tbh, Bria’s mom is white and she knows exactly what she’s doing in terms of using tears to come on social media! That what her white woman tears coming out when she wasn’t the token anymore.
At the end of the day being an influencer has everything to do with business and it's everyone for themselves when it comes to that. Just because Bria didn't want to go it doesn't mean that Fannita should've missed an opportunity to Network because that's what these trips are all about. Networking! The girl decided not to go based on assumptions and wanted another black woman to miss out on an opportunity that could benefit her. At the end of the day Bria fumbled her own bag by publicly stating that a company is racist and it's already hard for black creators to get good brand deals and partnerships. She may have a hard time with getting more brand deals after this.
@keoshahenry it's also great for business to have integrity and self respect. All networking ain't good networking bc they didn't even get paid for this brand trip.
@@keoshahenry There are far too many brands that truly cater to black and brown creators. You do not have to beg for appreciation. If you clap for trash, they will pay you with more trash. 😂
she has been an influencer for 14 years yet I've never heard or seen this lady, no sponsorships, no collabs, nothing. She said she back after one brand trip 🤦🏾♀️
That last lady is insane. She isn't even that popular, so for the little she has achieved compared to her white counterparts to have gotten to her head this much is incredible. The narcissism was seeping through my screen, her energy is very dark and she is completely unaware of herself, her actual popularity, her success, and her importance, it is all inflated and she believes this is confidence when it is just pride and pride comes before the fall.
As a black woman, I've never shopped Tarte. It just never seemed like it was meant for me....but Juvia's Place and Il Makiage do me right. I spend my money where I know my complexion matters.
what stood out to me from Nike’s video “happy to be invited if not great” … honestly it’s truly sad for a Black Woman to publicly speak like this. Why are we still dancing to sit at thee white mans table? this is embarrassing at its core, it’s giving crumbs, cuz sis was not even the first choice 😭 AND to charge these Karens for diversity tax? this is alarming and so effed up.
Nike’ is telling us loudly and proudly what she is & where she stands….she can still be bought and sold. Harriet Tubman taught us about people like her..
I hate the fact that a lot of our community still has the “you have to struggle to make it” mentality. Yes, to a certain degree, you have to make sacrifices to get to the position you want to be in. However, that doesn’t apply to situations like this. You’ve ALREADY proven that you’re worthy enough to be invited. Why do you have to be grateful for sub par treatment? You’re an ANOMALY, every other person is getting what they deserve except us.🙄
In the late 80s and early 90s there were very few affordable makeup options for brown and dark skinned women. These days there are no excuses for companies to meet our needs. Let’s give our money where its appreciated!
its so sad how that one woman mentioned that she used to sleep on trains just to be front row and how she never complained. not speaking up just leads them to think that is completely fine while her white counterparts were getting full king sized beds to sleep in, because she was happy with what she got she settled for floors. never be afraid to speak up, we are worth more than these brands try to bargain us for!!!
I do agree with your comment but for her to sit there and talk about her sleeping in trains juat to be front row at fashion week - im sorry but that has nothing to do with influencing - A LOT of these influencers did that type shit before they blew up… maybe dont go to fashion week if you cant afford a hotel etc to stay at ijs
Bria retracted because Tarte got other Blk women to sit in a room and shame her for wanting more. Gaslit and threaten her into believing she was the problem. Super disappointed to see the other Blk creators acting that way.
There will always be those of us who will sell out for a buck or a pat on the head. “Happy to be invited anywhere” 🥴 and treated as second/third best in this case. The self respect is in the gutter.
TART is not even a brand made by people who look like me, so why tf would I expect them to cater to my needs? I swear people in my own community need to wake up. These people do not care about us!!! we need our own!
And this is why our people can never come together trying to bring everyone but we have to identify people who look like us, and that are not for us, and treat them accordingly as well. Draw a hard line in the sand and 🖤 for those who stay on code, they will be invited to be apart of the unified community.
Bria is a clout chaser. She's Biracial and thought she would get presidential treatment. If they had included her in the first lineup with the other influencers she wouldn't have complained about that racist company.
She said she was just happy to be invited. If people had that attitude we wouldn’t have the progress that we have had in all walks of life if people kept their mouth shut because they were just happy to be there. She’s one of those that they would give a closet room to behind the staff kitchen and she would just be happy to be there. Smh.
She somehow thinks claiming proximity to Jews is a flex or will elevate her career. Notice she mentioned attending a bar mitzvah after diversity taxing on a shoot!
It’s not only that they didn’t stand in solidarity, it’s that they went out of their way to dog Bria AND call all of us all types of ignorant and stupid. They were very prideful and haughty and then made it about colorism when it wasn’t ever that! All for TARTE Cosmetics…
The girl who talked about sleeping on teains in her explanation sounds like she's coming from the "take what you can get becuase you won't get anything better" mindset. Which is very sad
Exactly. When this happened the first time in 2018, why not stay away from the company? Walk away with your money. They know their products aren’t directed for darker skin tones. We have to learn to leave and walk away from what doesn’t serve us… why “beg” to service darker skin when they clearly don’t want to.
@@jazzyj904 Right?! This is how some women behave with men who don't want them. The dude does EVERYTHING to disrespect the woman and she STILL sticks around for the abuse. I feel nothing towards these influencers. The entire influencer culture is not black girl friendly. It’s weird to me that other industries can be anti black but it’s understandable to work for them because we all need jobs.
This SH!T just makes me sooooo mad from all angles. The worst is the lack of solidarity and lack of principles in the Black community explained away 'because we need to get our coins nomatter what'. I call out that DESPERATE sh!t! That's the exact reason why people don't take us seriously because we don't take ourselves seriously.
SAME. I have a RUclips channel where I make some side income doing videos similar to this one and I get questions about why I don't show my face or mingle with others on this site. My answer is always, why would I? I don't care to endure comments about my skin or hair nor do I care to be invited into these influencer spaces where I'm literally not welcome. I have a cousin that is bending over backwards trying to become an influencer and now she uses images of other black and ambiguous women to draw followers in because the way that she looks (she's beautiful, just a DSBW) is not appealing to people she's trying to pitch to. I don't understand it and I hope that I never do.
It's weird that you say that. This is their, jobs, so for you to not feel anything because it's a makeup brand is weird. It's like telling a doctor to stop working for a certain hospital even it it has more equipment or resources that can help the doctor learn more and gain more experience. It's weird. There is actually not a lot of black beauty brands that have the tarte following.
A good example would be black content creators on RUclips. The algorithm excludes their content and suppresses certain topics. Yet, black content creators are still posting monetized content and RUclips is still making money from their viewership too. I support by watching but RUclips still does black creators dirty. Where is RUclips black this year? By your own logic Eloho shouldn’t use the RUclips platform.
What I’m not going to do is beg a company to give them my money. Tart is letting me know everything I need to know about them. I won’t be spending any of my money with them.
The sad part is the judgement and dragging down and minimizing a person's experience. Fighting for their own worth is their right. Because at the end of the day, when anyone finds out someone else is getting paid more than they are for doing the same thing will not be smiley-face-excited... they will either put up with it or they wont. Peace!
She has no idea how much she has indicted herself at 16:27. She's basically saying that she can be bought with "dinner" and her outrage is performative and that brands know this about her.
“I know when to use racism to my advantage,” after a whole monologue full of misunderstanding racial dynamics and supreme confidence and tone deaf condescension is face-palm crazy.
It’s upsetting and understandable that the influencers feel some type of way about it. How about directing energy to work with companies that already support your community rather than pressuring a company to bend to accommodate. They could do it if they wanted to, but they don’t. Let that be and move around - go where you are celebrated and nothing less
@@ShantesTravelThings because there is no reason to BEG people to take our money. Who else does this? “Oh please massa, take my money too…” Anyone else would withhold or withdraw support but we are steady begging others to sell us stuff. It’s dumb.

The only thing that bothers me is that why did she not do research on the brand she was partnering with? Black influencers, please start pulling up the carfax on these makeup/skincare companies. Evidence of Tarte being racist has been on the Internet for over half a decade now. Do just as much research into them as they do to you when they consider you for these partnerships or brand trips

The coonery 😮💨🦝🦝🦝
Just nasty
It sad, stupid and annoying 🤡
I was looking for this comment 🤣🤣🤣 child my coonery scenes were tingling. The 🐂💩 was flying. Ain't no one checking for those 3 girls.
I said “I would never wear this hahaha” and the women looked genuinely shocked and said “never?!”
I have more horror stories of racism at that job, trust me.
So yeaaaahhhh Tarte is not it for black folk. They do not care about us. I would never support that brand in my life.
You can't be trying to make a "power move" by using racism to your advantage but at the same time admit to being happy just to be invited. Are you playing chess or not?
That brand knew what they were doing. Those girls look like two aunties coming from the gym. They were happy just to be seen. 😭

Girl have a seat!
that’s exactly how i view the situation. bria keeps victimizing herself knowing full well what she was walking into
She didn't go on the trip to my understanding and she also isn't the only one to accuse Tarte of the same bs. So what are we taking about again?
@Zion45005 that's the point. People have been accusing this company of this BS since 2015-ish and that didn't stop her from wanting to go. She's a hypocrite.
Tarte has been exposed so many times yet these influences keep working with them and promoting them. Its 2023, let's please leave them in 2015.
Coons will coon.
😂
Right! I thought we had been done with them.
Fannita was giving “I’ve never been nowhere or had nice things” and of course, she admits it was her very first brand trip 🙃

Bria is a clout chaser. She's Biracial and thought she would get presidential treatment. If they had included her in the first lineup with the other influencers she wouldn't have complained about that racist company.

That Nike character was a lot to deal with. And they didn’t even invite you until after you reached out. Lol
And smh, those three girls know good and well that they’re the complete opposite of the aesthetic that tarte wants, they need to take it down several notches.. So much for the “sisterhood”..
That's a very polite way of saying darkskinned and fat. 😅 I mean, yay for inclusivity and size diversity, but considering how the white girls looked, their placement seemed suspicious. I didn't see any fat white girls in the Tarte Tiktoks.
