In my opinion, Cleo gave WAYYYY too much grace to Ice despite the clear signs that Ice was not fooling with her like that. That's my only real gripe with Cleo.
I don’t even have grip with her for that. As human beings we tend to give grace to those we genuinely love and want the relationship to have longevity.

I had an ex friend invite me camping out of town the evening before. When I said I don’t have the funds, I didn’t plan for it, I can’t go, she begged me and said she “got me”. As soon as we got there, her male friend paid for him and her to enter the park. Then they both sat there quiet and angry that I couldn’t afford it, making me uncomfortable. I didn’t expect him to pay for me I don’t know him. But she said she “got me”, really just brought me there to humiliate me. Pulled the same thing on me for lunch at McDonalds. Mind you I have paid for meals for this friend and never made them feel bad, never made them feel uncomfortable or humiliated. Yet I recieved lots of eye rolls, anger and silence for not paying the equivalence of like 20 bucks. The entire camping trip I avoided them and spent most of my time alone. After the trip, I texted her and let her know bringing me under false context of “I got you” - just to be rude, and cruel doesn’t work for me. She read and ignored the text, and days later messaged me about something random trying to change the topic. She was trying to casually get away with treating me like crap. A friend I bought food for, a friend I gave hundreds to as a gift, a friend I made art and hand made birthday gifts, a friend I was ALWAYS there for, thought it was okay to treat me like she hated me. And it wasn’t the first time she pulled this shady behaviour on me but I forgave it previously. I literally never spoke to her again.
I believe Cleo! Growing up in NYC and observing how non-black women and lighter tones women behavior were towards dark skin women made me stay away from them my entire life. I’m so happy that I did- because the stories of how they treat dark skin women is disgusting! I don’t trust them at all.
I agree, I have personal stories too with lightskin/mixed frenemies however lightskined/mixed women also experienced those horrible friendships dynamics with darkskin women. I feel both sides need to take accountability but at the end of the day, there will always be mean girls regardless of colors, but within the black community + colorism, woof ruthless. I tend to avoid them in general, unless i can see through their characters that they’re “okay” or “safe” to interact with. Yup, that’s how bad it is, lol.

This is sad. Can’t see myself being a woman of God, a woman at all or human being for that matter and choosing to post negativity like this for the sake of internet validation. When instead, healing first from within and doing some soul searching to find peace could be so much more fulfilling. Truee😂 Even as someone from West Africa, Ghana to be precise! I noticed how light skins treat their dark skin friends feeling all superior to them. I went to a boarding school and there was this group of girls about 5 in number all light skins purposely hanging out with themselves because they were light skinned😂 They used to treat the other people who they interacted with that were dark really badly, I felt bad for them cause they would keep going back to them too😂 All the light skinned girls I had like two encounters with were really mean and thought of themselves as Superior. Most of my friends are either dark chocolate or milk chocolate skinned like myself. They’re really nice, helpful and genuine friends. The light skins from what I noticed from any interactions had some nasty attitude, I keep them as acquaintances only and know my true friends. They ain’t friend material, they only friend material to equally lighter girls like themselves lol

My 2¢… First off, Ice and Cleo were never genuine friends. Maybe in the beginning Ice’s intentions were good but after gaining some traction I think she realized how beneficial it would be for her image to be “besties” with a pretty, LIT, Nigerian girl like Cleo. Now… ICE and her TEAM invited CLEO on tour to save face after the situation with STORMI exposing how she really feels about Cleo. Hence why ICE told her “everything would be covered don’t worry, you’ll be with me”. They didn’t WANT Cleo to get a contract drawn up with her management or get a budget established. Once Cleo decided to come, I feel like Ice and her team were like ok now people can see we’re still cool, but like I said before Ice never was her GENUINE FRIEND. That’s why she ALLOWED her security to treat Cleo that way. LIKE CLEO SAIDDDD- Ice wasn’t expecting her to check that shit so quick! Had Cleo NOT addressed it, Ice would’ve been cool with her on camera but would’ve continued with the passive aggressive behavior. I had an ex friend invite me camping out of town the evening before. When I said I don’t have the funds, I didn’t plan for it, I can’t go, she begged me and said she “got me”.
As soon as we got there, her male friend paid for him and her to enter the park.
Then they both sat there quiet and angry that I couldn’t afford it, making me uncomfortable. I didn’t expect him to pay for me I don’t know him.
But she said she “got me”, really just brought me there to humiliate me.
Pulled the same thing on me for lunch at McDonalds.
Mind you I have paid for meals for this friend and never made them feel bad, never made them feel uncomfortable or humiliated.
Yet I recieved lots of eye rolls, anger and silence for not paying the equivalence of like 20 bucks.
The entire camping trip I avoided them and spent most of my time alone.
After the trip, I texted her and let her know bringing me under false context of “I got you” - just to be rude, and cruel doesn’t work for me.
She read and ignored the text, and days later messaged me about something random trying to change the topic. She was trying to casually get away with treating me like crap.
A friend I bought food for, a friend I gave hundreds to as a gift, a friend I made art and hand made birthday gifts, a friend I was ALWAYS there for, thought it was okay to treat me like she hated me. And it wasn’t the first time she pulled this shady behaviour on me but I forgave it previously.
I literally never spoke to her again.
I believe Cleo! Growing up in NYC and observing how non-black women and lighter tones women behavior were towards dark skin women made me stay away from them my entire life. I’m so happy that I did- because the stories of how they treat dark skin women is disgusting! I don’t trust them at all.

I agree, I have personal stories too with lightskin/mixed frenemies however lightskined/mixed women also experienced those horrible friendships dynamics with darkskin women. I feel both sides need to take accountability but at the end of the day, there will always be mean girls regardless of colors, but within the black community + colorism, woof ruthless. I tend to avoid them in general, unless i can see through their characters that they’re “okay” or “safe” to interact with. Yup, that’s how bad it is, lol.

This is sad. Can’t see myself being a woman of God, a woman at all or human being for that matter and choosing to post negativity like this for the sake of internet validation. When instead, healing first from within and doing some soul searching to find peace could be so much more fulfilling. I noticed how light skins treat their dark skin friends feeling all superior to them. I went to a boarding school and there was this group of girls about 5 in number all light skins purposely hanging out with themselves because they were light skinned😂
They used to treat the other people who they interacted with that were dark really badly, I felt bad for them cause they would keep going back to them too😂
All the light skinned girls I had like two encounters with were really mean and thought of themselves as Superior. Most of my friends are either dark chocolate or milk chocolate skinned like myself. They’re really nice, helpful and genuine friends. The light skins from what I noticed from any interactions had some nasty attitude, I keep them as acquaintances only and know my true friends. Hence why ICE told her “everything would be covered don’t worry, you’ll be with me”. They didn’t WANT Cleo to get a contract drawn up with her management or get a budget established. Once Cleo decided to come, I feel like Ice and her team were like ok now people can see we’re still cool, but like I said before Ice never was her GENUINE FRIEND. That’s why she ALLOWED her security to treat Cleo that way. LIKE CLEO SAIDDDD- Ice wasn’t expecting her to check that shit so quick! Had Cleo NOT addressed it, Ice would’ve been cool with her on camera but would’ve continued with the passive aggressive behavior. Cleo being so vocal definitely pissed Ice off and set the precedent for how she would treat her for the rest of the tour. Ice NEVER wanted to share her stage with Cleo!! She wanted to USE Cleo like the token black bestie. She never wanted people to see how talented her bestie was! She did all of this to SAVE FACE.
