- For the first time in 2022 I strike out at night to stalk bullfrogs on the lake. Using a rubber frog and a gig I'm able to fill the kayak!

Great video! One tip: since you already cooked the frog legs just stir fry the veggies first then put in the frog legs last and stir them so the meat doesn't overcook :)

Frog fishing is fun, I do it myself. I use a large popping fly on a 14 foot telescopic rod (works like a charm).
The little turtle you caught was a stink pot turtle, a softshell turtle is flat and the shell is leathery feeling, also you wouldnt habe been able to get close to a softshell turtle like you did the other ones.

I use a popper or other topwater with treble hooks. Great hook up ratios.

TIP:
Get you a pair of catfish skinning pliers. They will help you skin catfish, frogs, snakes, etc. Also if you clean the large frogs like you would a squirrel you can get more meat from them.
