I've been taking rabbits and squirrels with a slingshot since I was a kid. Over the years I guess I've taken hundreds of squirrels and rabbits with a slingshot. A slingshot in the right hands, with the right ammo can be quite lethal.

All the rabbits I've taken with a slingshot was at stationary rabbits whacked in the head with a marble(the perfect close range slingshot ammo for headshots on rabbit, squirrel, pigeons and pheasant).

I used to shoot frogs with a Daisy 'Spittin' Image' Model 1894 BB gun..very accurate and it did the job. Don't know what the muzzle velocity was back then (1960's) I think Daisy lowered the muzzle velocity of their spring BB guns over the years. I have a Daisy Model 25 BB gun I bought for the kids about 8 years ago doesn't strike me as having the same velocity as my old Model 1894 did. With low-velocity BB guns, for target shooting it's best to shoot at an absorbent backstop and use eye protection because ricochet is a very real hazard with steel BB's and low velocity. Great fun though and ideal to teach gun safety.

Flair’s really over estimating a frog . “At least one 1000 fps” c’mon bruh, one shot with my weak homemade slingshot and they legit explode.
People don't realize the slingshot damage. These Walmart type guns with 22 cal pellets @1000 fps advertised are really 700-800 fps @ muzzle with heavier ammo, and a whole lot less past 10 yards due to air resistance.
My diy slingshot is single layered flat latex shooting 50 Cal lead at around 280 fps which is the same or slightly better than most Springer airguns if they actually shot the advertised fps.
Also the slingshots do not lose velocity nearly as quick as a pellet and at the point of impact the energy is quite high.
I've been on the slingshot bandwagon for years. Just takes a lot of practice to be competent compared to air rifles. It's not easy to be a good air rifle shooter either.

Considering the Red Ryder is a 5 meter BB gun at best, yours held its own. I have two, one regular and the other has an adult stock, which is the only difference. The regular does a great job, but the adult stock is all over the place. I bought them last December. I wasn't allowed one as a kid. I'm 57. lol

I remember when I was about 10 my buddy Dale and I set up a bunch of toy army men in the dirt pile in his backyard, then we used out red rider BB guns to shoot them. It would knock them down, and later you could see where the bb hit them. Tons of fun. Then we built models of airplane bombers, and shot them up. You could see a little hole in the fulselage where the bb went through. We shoot them until the plane was just tiny pieces.

I have had the tg-1 for about 6 years now use it for random varmints squirrels raccoons etc and it's a beast for a cheap pellet gun! And yes the scope comes dead on right out of the box!

With a plastic worm and hook throw it in front of them and its awesome to watch them jump and start gobbling it up
We used to do that when I was a kid in Texas. We would get one of the long bamboo rods and dangle flies in front of them. You have to wait until the fly is in their mouth before you set the hook. Gigging was fun too. Slingshots work really well too, but it takes some practice.
Growing up, I'd get all my frogs with a BB gun. That was the only way to get the big ones as a kid lol

Shot many a frog and bird as a kid with my trusty daisy repeater,they weren't made of plastic back in those days. My uncle also showed me as a kid you could use a bit of red cloth tied on a small hook dangled in front of a frog to catch them,cane pole worked fine.
