It’s best to let each have their own spotlight for more profits, or it defeats the purpose of making these games.

The first fighting that introduced me to fighting games. Back in 2013 I would always accompany my brother to his friend's house on Fridays and we would play a bunch of games on his 360. With the stack of cases I picked out injustice and the cover looked so cool. I knew the dc characters because my brother love dc stuff and I ask my brothers friend if we could play it. We played it and it was so much fun. I used doomsday as my first character and since I didn't know how to play fighting games back then it was all button mashing and it was so enjoyable seeing my character do cool moves and random combos. I am glad injustice was the first fighting game I've ever played and sparked my interest in the genre.
Injustice's stagnation is what happens when a fighting game filled with projectiles has no usable air block. For the love of god, if you are making a fighting game that has multiple projectiles in it you NEED an air block or the projectiles need to have very limited uses.
Both games sold very well. The profits were used to make more NRS games, including mortal kombatg 11 and now soon to be released Mortal Kombat 1. They didn't fall or fail.
You can argue all you want about why aspects of the games were bad all day. Ult Doesn't matter if no one ever plays Injustice ever again and is looked at as terrible games 20 yrs from now. Ultimately videogames are made to make profit and make more videogames. It's a terribly stupid system but that's how the gaming industry works.
What killed it wasn’t just its development cycle. It was also it huge zonner problems. A problem that continued into mk11. Mk1 has yet to release so we don’t know if zonners are still going to be an issue
Harley Quinn Main here: Personally, I loved the game for quite a long time, and it has such a great campaign and a good multiplayer experience. Played it with a few friends and we all enjoyed it for a while. Tbh I miss it now haha
Another great video. I wonder why it is that the community so readily moves on every few years, when games like MVC2, Skullgirls, or even SF Third Strike continue to have active communities. Maybe you could make a video on that 👀
I've wanted an Injustice 3 for so long, ONLY because there's a chance of Bluebird being a playable character after getting cut from the 2nd games launch roster.
Unfortunately, I really doubt it. Sadly, she's become a very minor character in Batman stories, and she wasn't even that prevalent when Scott Snyder (her creator) was writing them.

He was already an established top MK9 player. > The only people complaining about “spam” were mid to low level online-only players. You had exceptions like the Lex vs Zod on hitbox MU but most characters could deal with zoning just fine, if you weren’t playing in underwater delay-based netcode. > lol Im in the bg of like 3 clips lololol
I lowkey hated Injustice Gods Among Us, haha, but Injustice 2 was great. The first one felt so slow in comparison. And the UI was so much better in the 2nd game.
I feel like Deathstroke in Gods Among Us is so emblematic of the strengths and weaknesses of Injustice as a whole An incredibly fun rushdown with satisfying combos and animations with far too effective zoning that completely negates the need to use any of his rushdown tools
I wanted netherrealm to release alterning between MK and Injustice, it's a good time to rest from a franchise to another. but because of the leaks, I believe that we'll get MK 12 first. whatever for me, because I'm a huge fan from both games, but I would prefer them to announce Injustice 3 first
I also think it helps keep the game alive even after the competitive scene dies, like why would I buy MK11 now if MK12 is supposedly coming out in a year or so? Better to just save up and buy the new one.
While the nrs cycle is true and trained players to drop old titles, mk11 has done a great job surviving with tournaments every night up to today, sometimes multiple in a day... Really wonderful, I won't say I'm glad for whatever happened to nrs these last couple years but it showed a great thing in the nrs community.
I feel like Injustice can target a larger audience. Mortal Kombat may be too gory for some people to watch. Injustice has iconic well known characters and blood is used more sparingly. I feel like Injustice can target a larger audience. I know people who like action and fighting but are turned off by excessive gore. Instead of being a Mortal Kombat filler, Injustice should try to find its own fanbase.
injustice is wayyy more than just MK filler lol INJ 2 outsold mk9 and mkx combined that's beyond MK fan base and the tournaments were big time asf. The comics sold handsomely and anyone breaking down the injustice story easily gets millions of views. Also the Injustice 2 blew some pros to mainstream and allowed multiple RUclipsrs to make a living.
as a casual playthis game is the most tilted game in the modern day cuz of the zoning . For the past decade there has not been any fighting game that loses players not just from the next MK game coming up but also of the Zoning meta the game built.
The lack of dedicated block button made it better than MK already. If there's no Injustice 3, MK12 should threw that shit off. and gave it a longevity like Tekken 7 and SFV.
Honestly I enjoyed the story, and the rosters as well as combos. It's just the gameplay kinda suffered because of 2 bar spammers and nonestop projectiles. Hopefully they fix it in the 3rd game but the way nrs is going now I doubt it will get fixed. They are probably more concerned about censoring Wonder Woman than making a good gameplay experience
NRS makes good games, but bad fighters, meaning it's fun to enjoy the story, unlock stuff and goof around in, but trying to take their games seriously will only lead to frustration, and that's for Injustice and Mortal Kombat. Funny moment here, one day I had youtube on autoplay, and I heard a bunch of random "spammy" noises, and I said to myself, "This must be a random Injustice 2 match."....and it was lol. "ZORT, ZORT, TELEPORT WHOOSH SOUND x 2, PHEW, PHEW!!"
Maybe the problem with zoning is because the lack of anti zoning tools in regular characters like rushdowns or grapplers, and maybe more movement options like that superman can fly in the regular gameplay or minimum can airdash And the over buff the proyectiles are with fast startups and short recuperation times specially with gun characters
The maps were just big and injustice 1 had slow walk speed. The biggest problem really is that every single zoner in this game is also good at close combat and has knockback.
Why is everybody here complaining about zoning? Just use a character that can teleport and it's done. Raiden can teleport mid air and Red Hood can attack while holding himself up in the air, attacking and dodging at the same time. I'm not even good at the game but doing this stuff always works.
@@andylaw3222 That sounds good on paper but in reality it’s not always that simple. Only about 5 characters have teleports. Plus I use one of the characters with a teleport (Scarecrow) and it’s still hard against zoners simply because all the zoners are good close up too. I’m in the top 2000 of injustice players and I’ve played against top 100 players and seen tournaments of top 100 players. Even at this high of a level zoning is still a problem.
@@UrbanJP2 Aren't zoners ashamed of themselves for using such a cheap way to win?? The Injustice series was my proper introduction to fighting games after playing MK vs DC prior. MK vs DC was... not very good. As someone who doesn't care about e-sports much, is bad at fighting games and loves DC and Superheroes in general, I love both Injustice games and they're my favourite fighters. I prefer the slower pace of NRS games to the high speed style of say Street Fighter. Both games have their flaws, (spamming being an obvious example). But the general gameplay is fun and fluid, the characters are all so unique and fun to play, they have great story modes, overall it feels like the Injustice games tried to appeal more to the casual market, and they definitely succeeded. I just hope Injustice 3 (if and when it comes out) will fix the issues the prior two games had, (notably spamming) or at least reduce their prevalence. I think if Injustice 3 fixed these issues and was given the same lifespan as MK11, it could have some serious staying power.
I was expecting something like poor work conditions or controversial mechanics. But no it seems the game has just run its course and we wait for the cycle to continue with another sequel

I used doomsday as my first character and since I didn't know how to play fighting games back then it was all button mashing and it was so enjoyable seeing my character do cool moves and random combos. I am glad injustice was the first fighting game I've ever played and sparked my interest in the genre.
My video!!! Thank you so much Akshon for taking my constant spam in suggestions and making it a video!
There's an error in the intro. Injustice doesn't "Pivot" characters against each other. It "Pits" characters against each other. Now you know!
Yeah the franchise isn’t dead, they had 2 successful titles, they just fizzled after a couple years as most do.
Injustice's stagnation is what happens when a fighting game filled with projectiles has no usable air block. For the love of god, if you are making a fighting game that has multiple projectiles in it you NEED an air block or the projectiles need to have very limited uses.
Ed Boon: We're working on MK12.
Me: Didn't MK 11 just come out?
Injustice 3 will come. I believe.

Love how the tanktop dude just decided to fall over
Injustice felt just s stiff and linear as other nrs games, so it was never really my cup of tea, but it's always sad when a FG dies
Linear? Like, the gameplay was linear? The heck is that even supposed to mean?
lmao the infamous General Zod vs Lex Luthor match
Mk1 has yet to release so we don’t know if zonners are still going to be an issue
you could say the series has been done injustice
Harley Quinn Main here: Personally, I loved the game for quite a long time, and it has such a great campaign and a good multiplayer experience. Played it with a few friends and we all enjoyed it for a while. Tbh I miss it now haha
4:54 man just gets carried away like a cape
Another great video. I wonder why it is that the community so readily moves on every few years, when games like MVC2, Skullgirls, or even SF Third Strike continue to have active communities. Maybe you could make a video on that 👀
I've wanted an Injustice 3 for so long, ONLY because there's a chance of Bluebird being a playable character after getting cut from the 2nd games launch roster.
Unfortunately, I really doubt it. Sadly, she's become a very minor character in Batman stories, and she wasn't even that prevalent when Scott Snyder (her creator) was writing them.
The day u get bluebird in a fighting game is the day I see Cassandra Cain in a fighting game. Which ain’t likely
@@irishjet2687 i am fully aware, but goddamnit, there was fckin CONCEPT ART. If Batman Who Laughs can get an alt skin in MK, ive faith
@@ayeh2309 man, she should've been an alt for Batgirl in Injustice one
@@Lynch2507 ong I’m mad they don’t ever use her
Just writing to say that I've been watching your backlog of videos and I'm very impressed. Thank you for your work!
Injustice 1 and 2 were the best Fighting games, waiting for Injustice 3.
> The netcode was not good. It was crap and we knew it back then.
> the game was not balanced at all. Nowdays we talk about how infamous it was and how many 8-2s and 7-3s were in it.
> Sonic was not “the new kid in the block”.
Injustice and good netcode? In what parallel universe do you live? I still vividly remember the laggy deathstrokes like it was yesterday.
I love that you included the clip of Conan typing on a fightstick LOL
I lowkey hated Injustice Gods Among Us, haha, but Injustice 2 was great. The first one felt so slow in comparison. And the UI was so much better in the 2nd game.
Some of the character models looked straight up ugly in injustice, so the second one was a much welcomed graphical improvement
@@soapbiter36577and the regime skins... They looked so bad.
I feel like Deathstroke in Gods Among Us is so emblematic of the strengths and weaknesses of Injustice as a whole
An incredibly fun rushdown with satisfying combos and animations with far too effective zoning that completely negates the need to use any of his rushdown tools
2 years late but NRS loves zoning. They did my boy Sub-zero Dirty in MK1. Fuck... I MISS MIDWAY
Sonicfox putting on the fursuit head was probably one of the most inspiring moments
why did i laugh at “gods among us” because of the “among us” i think my humour is broken
I enjoyed both ...waited on 3 but gotta rebooted MK instead
Unpopular opinion: Injustice 1 was better than 2
Same. As a DC fan I liked 2's roster better but 1 is just better game in many ways.
I used to zone spam with deathstroke. Now I zone spam with Dr Fate.
My favourite thing about injustice are the salt compilations spawned by the projectile spam
Still my favorite fighting game of all time. Injustice 2 was ., LOVE
People online play this game like their being held at gunpoint
as a casual playthis game is the most tilted game in the modern day cuz of the zoning .
It’s a staple for MK to have the block button, I’d rather they keep it in and just keep injustice alive
the bad thing about this is whenever i got into a match people kept disconnecting
Injustice 2 got me into fighting games.
this was about spam for like 20 seconds
One thing worth noting is that the Injustice Gods Among us Mobile game is incredible and still very active with players
I just noticed that in Injustice 1, Lex Luthor looks like Bruce Willis lol
I've got 500+ hours in Injustice 2. It's my most played game after WoW.
“Make some noise!”
-Tasty Steve
NRS makes good games, but bad fighters, meaning it's fun to enjoy the story, unlock stuff and goof around in, but trying to take their games seriously will only lead to frustration, and that's for Injustice and Mortal Kombat. Funny moment here, one day I had youtube on autoplay, and I heard a bunch of random "spammy" noises, and I said to myself, "This must be a random Injustice 2 match."....and it was lol.
"ZORT, ZORT, TELEPORT WHOOSH SOUND x 2, PHEW, PHEW!!"
The only game where the tie in comic become just as or even more popular then the game
Netherrealm 🤝 Making mediocre fighting games people drop in 2 years
Injustice 2 has a much more smooth gameplay than Injustice 1.
Injustice 2 is not exactly dead. I can easily still find ranked matches, even on Xbox.
Netherelm games just always felt stiff for me. Especially injustice. I only played them for fun. Just couldn’t get into them on a competitive level.
Akshon knew what they were doing by calling Injustice 1 "Gods Among Us"
ඞ
Shutuppls
been waiting YEARS for an analysis on these games
Maybe the problem with zoning is because the lack of anti zoning tools in regular characters like rushdowns or grapplers, and maybe more movement options like that superman can fly in the regular gameplay or minimum can airdash
And the over buff the proyectiles are with fast startups and short recuperation times specially with gun characters
I think Raiden is the best teleporter, he can do it on the ground and mid air, he doesn't even need it since he can just jump in the air and do his left right X move to cover any distance. You know the move i mean right? I consider Harley as much more annoying then range attacks🙄
Who do you use as main? I'm using Red Hood since i really like him. I think he's ranked A or something like that, never bothered to check.
@@andylaw3222 Most of them don’t care because they’re winning 😂 but I use green lantern because he’s pretty balanced in every area. And yea red hood is A tier.
The guy falling off his chair at 8:36 just got me fkd up 🤣🤣😅
Love your videos covering different fighting games! Hopefully you guys make a video about Persona 4 Arena.
What's arguably worse was the Injustice animated movie. WTF was that travesty after such a string of really good DC animated movies. The animated movie could have revitalised interest in the franchise.
I want another Injustice game but they need to do more and add something to make it stand out more.
Sorry, what was the original Injustice called? Injustice: Gods...
Kind of sus
“The fighting game that has more spam than Spam” lol that’s some creative funny titling
Folks are still playing IJ2. It's still a great game.
I remember being at the midnight release for this at GameStop and they rented out a game truck just for this game. My first match was against this older guy and I was a young teen (13-14). I won and I still remember that fondly 😂
This game had a lot of momentum, especially since it was a great era of Marvel movies w
They can use those money for making the fighting animation better,no more fence punching
I love this game, always will.
Injustice gods among us mobile is how got into fighting games
Good. Btw the injustice 2 revival discord is very populated and very active. Just make sure you are on PS4 to take part in tournaments.
That’s good to know
I'm so bad at fighters I gave up on Injustice 2 cause I literally couldn't do the tutorial combos.
0:34 I know I have been ruined by the internet when my only thought is "sus"
I was expecting something like poor work conditions or controversial mechanics. But no it seems the game has just run its course and we wait for the cycle to continue with another sequel
