I have one now as well, big shoutout to you from Germany to show me how to put it on! I actually left the arms clipped to the shoulder straps, and pull my arms through them like a T-Shirt, however I'm not sure this works for everyone, i'm just 5'7 and rather bendable.

Man, I wish all 501st members were like you, they generally have a terrible reputation for being elitist, but you’re perfectly balanced, you take pride in how you do it and how it looks, but not a douche about it :)
+Sarge51BG - LOL! You should have seen me the first couple of times I suited up...I definitely couldn't do it by myself. Thank God for our supportive wives! :-) The armor will feel awkward to put on and wear the first couple of times, but after you troop in it a couple of times (and resize it, and install helmet fans, etc.), you'll be putting it on mostly by yourself, and even better than me! Best wishes as you go on your first 501st troop. I know you will bring joy to many, many people.
Andrew Huarte. He’s stated before that it took him exactly two months. Obviously it likely won’t be the same, especially depending on location within the US.
Thank you for posting this. I've been trooping as a TB for about six months and I've been debating doing a TK build. This video answered a lot of questions for me.
Thank you for posting this! I have a few questions. #1 how long does it take to receive your order? #2 do you know does the kit parts come pre-trimmed? Based on the webstie pics is looks like it
Sorry it took me a week to respond. I was out of the country. Here are the answers to your questions: 1.) I ordered a full commission, and it took exactly two months to receive it in the USA. 2.) The kit parts do come pre-trimmed, mostly, but there are several small pieces and parts that will need to be trimmed and sanded.
Thank u for helping me with what version of stormtrooper i should get. I just wore mine from rs and it’s looks awesome. My ? Is what modifications did u do to keep the calf from coming apart because of the 3 clips in the back of calf. Would u say use white velcro along back of calf or do something different.
Hi. Great video and I'm looking forward to receiving my armour from RS. I do have 1 question though. I noticed you mentioned a fan system in the helmet. This is something I've thought about putting in mine to stop the eye lenses from fogging and obviously keeping a bit cooler. Where abouts in the helmet have you mounted it? Many thanks....... Marc
+Marc Jacobs - There are several fan build threads on www.whitearmor.net that you might want to check out, but I'll quickly tell you that I mounted my fans in the front, near the bolts from the hovi mics. I built my own using the popular 20mm squirrel fans and rechargeable USB power banks. I wanted a rechargeable option. Make sure you get good ones that won't blow up. :-) I was able to use the space along the side tubes to mount the power banks (about the size of a roll of nickels). Many people purchase Echo's fan system from the FISD forum and love them too.
+IceStorm TK Many thanks for the info. Squirrel fans are not readily available over here. I had a look in Maplin today and even online. I finally managed to find the system that you're on about that is powered from a USB Power Bank. It's now been ordered and will be winging its way to me tomorrow. So grateful you've put these videos up on here and are willing to help newbies like myself. Many many thanks again.
Hope you're still Trooping, you are the same height 5’10” and build as me and your armour fit great, did you get it off the peg like that, or did you give them your measurements?
I'm always concern of the detonator slipping off somehow or some kid messing with it and getting it lost... thoughts of it already clipped on tightly and correctly centered on the canvas belt is an idea... To say, what I liked of the early, older FX armor the detonator is bolted on the ABS plastic belt strap and you can squarely straighten it easily as you fasten and tighten it via Velcro, whereas the canvas belt strap you have to make sure it is flat and straight, and the detonator is clipped securely and centered in the back. Of course, the FX armor is no longer 501st approvable, unless it has been modded to only 1st level canon, and the 'bucket' is completely replaced with an approved and comparable screen accurate TK helmet.
Can you tell me the difference in build quality, and texture between the RS Prop Masters and the Anovos? I don't care how heavy it is, I want it to be tough and also have a nice finish to it.
I have both, so I can speak about this pretty clearly. The RS Prop Masters armor and helmet are as close as you can get to screen accurate, in fact, it's called "screen lineage" because the bucks for the vacuum forms were made from casts of a set of armor that was worn on Episode IV A New Hope. That said, the helmet has characteristic bumps and texture that looks like brush strokes. This was exactly what the original helmets looked like on the original films. I have heard that RS now offers a smooth version that is not bumpy like that. Anovos (which is out of business now, but was resurrected by a different group of guys who bought Anovos and named it Denuo Novo. Their kit is exactly the Anovos kit.). The Anovos/Denuo Novo kit was created by taking the RS Props armor and helmet and 3D scanning it [yes, I heard it directly from the mouths of the two guys who actually did the 3D scans]. Then Anovos smoothed out the bumpiness and they sharpened all of the edges and features to make it look in person the way that you imagined it while watching Standard Definition film. They created bucks from those idealized 3D files and vacuum form their armor and helmets from that. They both are essentially the same weight of ABS plastic. They both come with the UV coating to help it not turn yellow over time. Hope this is helpful.
How do you store your armour when not in use? I know to keep it away from direct sunlight and radiators but do you have any other advice? would you recommend maybe buying a mannequin and hanging it on that?
+Justin Cull I use a Husky rolling case. Here's a link to it at Home Depot: www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-35-in-Mobile-Job-Box-222167/205053257 Some guys like the larger Stanley box, because they can also fit their helmet inside, but I got this one so that it could fit in my car. My helmet I carry separate in a soft helmet bag.
thanks for the video! I am planning on buying an RS armor (custom fitted etc) do you think it will fit nicely considering I am a pretty skinny build? love to hear from you! great video!
hey IceStorm. Congrats on Centurion. i have ordered af RS full Comm as well. it is on its way. I was wondering, how did you remove the strips om the back of the thighs IOT size them correctly?? as far as i can see on FB, RS use CA glue to assemble thighs
Hi IceStormTK, very impressive kit you have there! I'm also planning on ordering my TK kit through RS in order to join my local 501st, although I'll be going the self-build route! I have a question regarding the voice amplifier you use. Which one do you have? I've heard good things about iComm (even though they're a little pricey), and I also found a much cheaper option on the site TrooperBay. I figured I'd ask a fellow TK. Thank you for your time, and your dedication to the Empire! I hope you'll be making more videos, soon, too.
I use the iComm and the Aker 12W from voicebooster.com and I get a TON of compliments. There are some great alternatives out there now, but I haven't been convinced to switch to any of them yet. The quality of the iComm and Aker are off the charts.
One more question, if you don't mind. I've talked to a member in my Garrison who purchased the RS kit with the strap system and he says that it's uncomfortable to wear. What do you think? Is your TK suit comfortable to wear for extended troops? Thanks again!
Awesome vid, thanks for posting! Would love to see more about your mic system as it's something I'd like to do if I am lucky enough to be able to join the 501st someday. :-)
THE most accurate, regardless of what other armor suppliers want you to believe. RS is cast directly off a screen used ANH suit so it is perfectly imperfect with all the correct bumps and asymmetries it's supposed to have. And they also offer a version that is more idealized with the bumps etc smoothed out. Just depends on what you want. While not as fast to put on as my old school FX (see starwarshelmets.com for comparisons of all makers), it is great to see the attention to accuracy even down to the correct webbing and hooks. Just incredible. I only wish RS had existed in the mid 90s when us early 501st ers started collecting armor.
Hello and good afternoon my name is Kevin Greenfield ok and I have a fiberglass storm trooper armour and I find it hard getting on and fund it very difficult taking it off can you advise me please many thanks Kevin Greenfield.
Sure! The standard height of on-screen stormtroopers ranged from 5'9" to 6', but because of the gaps between the armor, I've seen guys that are 6'2" fit great too.

There are quite a few differences, including the holster placement (right side), the hand guards and several helmet details. I chose to go ANH simply because I wanted to look as close to the other troopers as possible, but that's not really a big deal to others (as much as it is to me). Hope this helps.

the anovos suit is wayyy better. instead of gloves with the white part attach to the glove it's so it is a separate piece that just straps onto your palm with an elastic strap and inside of rubber gloves it comes with breathable cloth nylon gloves. a little more expensive but a higher quality
thegamekai - Thanks so much for your comment! The knit gloves are more comfortable, and RS prop masters does provide the plastic hand guards as well, but if you want to achieve Centurion level (The highest level of screen accuracy) within the 501st, you will need to wear gloves exactly the way RS has provided them. Don't worry… You'll get used to them, and they are not that uncomfortable. :-)
Good job trooper you forgot your E-11 your in trouble with the Legion commander now loosing your fire arm shame shame bad trooper! You get to wash the Tie fighters all of them!
The last shot, with the gloves on and all done really made me smile! Looked fantastic

What kind of plastic is the armor made of?
This armor is made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic. RS Propmasters also sells their armor in PVC, but 99.9% of the guys I troop with have ABS armor. It is a creamy white, whereas PVC is a stark white. I like ABS because I can repair cracks easily by making ABS putty with acetone and ABS shavings.
IceStorm TK does it require repair often?
It depends on a couple of factors. I myself only have to do repairs after every 4 or 5 intense troops. These repairs are frightening the first time, but are a breeze after that. 95% or so of my repairs have been hairline crack repairs especially around the cod piece. I keep a shallow jar of ABS paste on my workbench. It is made of ABS shavings and acetone. I just add a little acetone liquid to the hardened leftovers in the jar, let it set for 40 minutes or so, stir it back up with a wooden crafting stick (looks like a wide popsicle stick) and apply it to the INSIDE of the armor. Once it dries, you're good to go. I have also cut some small strips of ABS and super glued them to the inside at areas that I'm concerned might start a running crack down there.
IceStorm TK thanks for the reply
