A lot of times they don’t even get out of the truck after they bump you. I always get out and apologize. And when one bumps me I get out and confront them. It’s called respect.
I will give 10 to 1 odds that truck stop does not charge to go in and buy something and then leave. In my 18 years of driving, I have never seen 1 that does that. They normally have a time limit. And no, most don't give you hours to do it.

I love how these truckers bitch about paying for parking. While they let the government rob them out their paycheck🤨. You do realize if your owner operator. You can write that has a write off. Or even get your company to pay you. Especially if that only safe haven near you. Truck stops already charge higher prices. If your going to bitch. Go to Walmart or something. Stack up a week worth. Before I retired from hauling steel, I noticed that a lot of the drivers were pissed off all the time.
I’d finish fueling, and as I walked in to take care of business inside, I would say good morning, good evening, whatever, to just about every person I saw, and most of them wouldn’t even notice.
If you hate your job that much, change careers.
It’s tough enough out there without adding unnecessary stress to your life.
Yeah that's what I don't understand. I love pulling my skateboard but some of these drivers seems to be miserable and grumpy all the time. Maybe I'm just catching them on a bad day but if they are like that all the time they should find something else to do
That’s because you’re from the old school way of trucking. The way it should be and the way it should be taught. My dad is the same way and greets everybody he sees while fueling or doing anything like that. Trucking used to be a brotherhood and we would help each other out. Nowadays it’s every man for himself and cut throat. I miss the brotherhood and how cool trucking once was. I was a little guy when my dad would take me with him but I remember my dad starting up a conversation with some guys in the fuel island and they would park there trucks and go inside the diner have some coffee smoke a few cigarettes “when you where able to smoke in restaurants” and just BS and have a few laughs about everything and anything. I even remember breaking down on the side of the highway and having multiple trucks stop and check on us and even the CB radio would be going crazy with other drivers asking if we needed help. Drivers like you and my dad are the last of a dying breed.

I don't think it's that they hate their jobs so much, it's the environment that they hate. They are disgusted with the way traffic is, they way they're treated at the customers, the way they're treated by law enforcement and in too of all of that they aren't getting enough home time. Thankfully, I got out of most of the rat race. I work for a small carrier that hauls mainly dedicated freight directly for the customer. I stay at one small truck stop one night a week. I'm off every weekend. I got so tired of the circus of finding a place to park every night, the nasty truckstop restrooms and the horrible food, but I love to drive.

I was pulled around back at a chicken coop, told to bring in my paperwork.
When I entered the building, I greeted the officer, and he informed me that I didn’t have the appropriate warning flags on the load.
He told me to drop the trailer, bobtail up to the truck stop a couple miles down the road, and get 4 flags.
When I got back, and finished putting the flags on all 4 corners of the load, I went back inside.
The officer informed me that had I not shown the respect I had, he would have burnt my ass.
Respect goes a long way in some cases.
The more I see this "bonehead" stuff, the more I understand why roosters begin their day screaming!!! 🤣😡🤣😡🤣

On my hometime, I stock up on groceries from IGA. I get my stuff at discount prices from my local grocery store and never from any truck stop. Instead of reserved parking, I park at turnouts, rest areas, terminals, and (on shower days) Love's. Instead of b***hing about they know we need to it, if you seek out alternatives you'll learn we actually don't need it
Man, this crybaby bitching about paying $15.00 for parking. Then,park in a rest area, or a truck stop that has no pay to park. Don't bitch about paying to park, you can go somewhere else, not only that,I don't blame the owners of some of these truck stops,if drivers stop throwing trash or dumping your trash, out at a truck stop,instead of putting it in a trash can,or dumpster. The $15.00 dollar parking fee, is to help pay for someone to pickup after you. Or cover cost to damages at the truck stop.

With the way the vast majority of truckers treat truckstops, can’t even be mad at them for charging to park. People dumping gallons of piss, littering, etc. that’s why Buccees don’t allow trucks. Why a lot Walmarts are banning truck parking as well.
Why many streets leading into rcvrs will stop us from parking on them, idiots are throwing trash into the grass. I think next time i see one do it i am gonna call the locals out on em maybe that will help put a stop to it after get a few fines.

Pilot in New Braunfels, TX had to clean drive up entering it, someone else owned the land and Pilot was forced to clean it up. Dang i had never seen so many beer cans, pee bottles etc in my entire driving career.

Been driving commercial trucks since 1996, about 14 years of that was OTR. I drive local now and I love it. I'm reminded of why I chose to come off the road every time I watch these videos. No respect any more and half of the drivers today can't speak English enough to read road signs. Remember new people signs are your friend.

I was on a motorcycle ride and had slept on the grass next to my bike. Just had my tent laid out like a tarp and sleeping bagged it. I had just enough $$ to get home and couldn't afford a motel. In the morning a truck driver gave me a shower ticket he wasn't using. That made my day.

Been driving 10+ years and payed for parking maybe 5x? Very easy to not be shaken down if you plan accordingly. I do blame drivers who pay for that parking though if you wouldn't do it they wouldn't have it set up like that. I'll never pay for parking as long as I drive. By the way those 5x were with points!

Actually in Monee Illinois at the Petro you have to pay $25 just to park. I was why i dont see any improvement on the pavement and the spot to park was actually smaller than the rest of the parking spots in other places

About the rant over those 5 Dollars for an ice cream, it is what I call a "rest stop/airport/train station surcharge". They all deliberately take advantage to fleece customers. They don't care if you're a truck driver or a passenger going on the next flight out of the country, they all fleece you.

Hey let me tell you something that will absolutely blow your mind...............you dont have to buy it.
If you're that down bad on prices of stuff, buy an e-scooter or e-bike to keep on your rig, park your rig, at the truck stop, take that bike to the nearest grocery store, get your sodey water and your icey creams and pay supermarket prices. If the truck stop allows you to temporarily detach your trailer, do that and just take your rig out shopping. I seen many truckers that have a cheap POS car they park at the truck stops they always go to, and they will use that car to do errands around town when they are laid up in their rig waiting on a delivery or a service call.

Beware of those TA Express many of their locations (if not all of them) don't have any free parking. They'll give you a spot if you fuel up there or you have to pay. and they constantly walk the lot and will pound on your door. That TA Express looks like the one in Edgerton, KS am I right?

Tulsa OK FJ staff told me it was because they had a shooting (over an argument about parking) so they couldn’t move people at their location. The lady was nice enough to create me a space I could use on the other side though..

As a 24 year driver I agree with you dont know how much more I can handle with regulations and the bad batch of truck drivers coming out now each year the batch is getting worst got in a dispute a week ago with a driver blocking the fuel island who claims that 1yr of driving makes him a veteran driver me and the other driver he told that to looked at each other and laughed and we informed politely no sir one year of driving dont make you a veteran driver which he informed us then that his trainer who only had 1 yr experience when he trained this guy and his company swift said any driver with 1yr or more is a veteran driver just shook my head and now I realize why the trucking industry went to 💩 over the years rookies training rookies keep in mind the discussion came into play because he was in the fuel island taking his 30min break in the daytime plenty of parking we asked him could he move and had to nerve to imply I must be a rookie because a veteran is going to utilize there 30min break while fueling in my mind it's like why bother explaining anything me and the other driver backed from
behind me and I just backed out the fuel island better then going to jail for assault or maybe because he told me a joke that a 1yr driver is veteran driver why I didn't press the matter farther

Retired UK trucker here. I carried a folding bicycle on my truck, the services were always expensive so I would leave via the service road, find a supermarket, do my shopping and cook my own food.
I wouldn't have accepted his offer for a shower either with that camera in my face.
I never pay to park either. People act like all truckers are rich. Truck stops price gouge for food, pop, and accessories. I ALWAYS carry my own snack food, pop, and subs in a cooler so I don't have to waste money at truck stops.
'Alex The Trucking Guy' cooks all his food in the truck. GP outfits their trucks with fridges. Not frozen dinners either. From scratch. The kid is an inspiration to aspiring drivers.

Sorry, but not sorry. Some traditions should not be allowed in public areas due to sanitary or saftey conditions. Washing your feet in a public sink or toliet is disgusting and spreads germs. I know certain nationalities wipe their ass with their hands and just wipe their hands with a towel then go about their business, should we allow that too?

Retired trucker here. And I can tell you I am so glad to be out of that rat race.
Maybe truckers should clean up their own mess and try to better respect Truck Stops. I totally understand why they want to charge you to park. Dirty SOBs leaving crap bags and piss bottles laying around, trash, etc. Look at the overhead of a gas station / truck stop. You also need to consider as a customer you’re paying for the convenience of getting ice cream, food, beverages, supplies. Hence the term convenient store.
Now add for inflation and higher labor.
Any driver has the capability of planning ahead and shopping on their home time.
I did. Loaded my sleeper every two weeks I went home. Anyway, I just had to say that because I can’t stand whining crying drivers. If you don’t like it, go somewhere else!

I believe he does, same as when you go in a weigh station and stop on scale, in some scales you can see the numbers moving until truck settles
When i hauled fuel for loves i waited a few minutes before i hit the intercom button. But people never gave me an issue because i worked for the truck stop.

He wasn't waiting in the truck.... you see the driver returning to his truck after grabbing his slip. Personally, I prefer using the app.... I never go inside OR need to park somewhere (unless I need to slide the axles).

Half of the pilot/flyj don't even worry bout the paid parking anymore. They can't even hire enough ppl to work inside rather lone have anybody available to scout the parking lot at 3am waking up truckdrivers to collect a parking fee

The only GD way I'd go back to OTR is if I had a time machine, lol. I rode with my grandad and uncles every summer as a kid back in the '80s. They were O/O's and that's what made me want to drive, so I did. That lasted about 5 years and I saw the change in the industry as it happened, no more independent truck stops, ELD's, unprofessional drivers that could barely speak English looking like they just walked out of a bazaar in New Delhi and stinking to high heavens. I'll stick to tugging a sandbox around locally for higher weekly pay 10hrs a day and being in my own bed every night, home every weekend.
That Flying J in Carlisle has been a nightmare for parking as long as I can remember, I had someone take off my hood mirror one morning and high tail it out of there before I could get his plate.
The loves aint no better. I hauled fuel to there all the time. Same with shartlesville loves off exit 23 on 78.

QT does not have any 4-wheeler only diesel pumps that are easy access to truckers. Those would have a cover that was not 20 feet high.

@7:00 that's the TA Express in Edgerton KS. I learned the hard way about that place being pay to park. Had I a guy come out at 1am knocking on my door telling me I need to come inside and pay. Talk about being pissed off.
I don’t spend a damm dollar the 3-4 weeks I’m out! I have a freezer on end of my bottom bunk full of food, 3-4 cases of water,a refrigerator, coffee maker, air fryer, no Excuse to cry about how expensive everything is when a little effort you can save a ton! I don’t sped while I’m gone so when I come in I take my wife out to eat!

Haha, jokes on you. I’m an OTR truck driver and I cook almost everything I eat.have a nice yeti cooler for my drinks and keep that stocked up because I know how overpriced and unhealthy food can be.
I use a butane portable stove and I cook everything from Mac n cheese, tacos, burritos, steak eggs potatoes, etc
I reup on my food and drinks every 4-6 weeks.

Avoid the seed oils! (Corn, cottonseed, soybean, canola, etc.) Look into it, they demonized healthy saturated fats (butter, tallow, lard) and replaced them with cheap processed industrial sludge.
