I’m 53, I just found out about Rory a few months ago. I’m so thankful that he’s been videoed so much. I can spend hours appreciating this wonderful music!

Fantastic act. Rory was one of the greatest. Memories, memories, memories… back in the UK and I was growing up on this stuff - nothing like it now for sure! Thanks for putting this concert on the ole RUclips:)
Would we have liked Rory to be a masses oriented product for sale ? We love him because he was a great player, composer and showman, but also because he ran for music, not stardom.

Still my favorite guitar player side by side with Peter Green and Paul Kossoff. I never was a big Strat fan but in the right hands this guitar is a beast. Rory was master of the stratocaster. Just listen to the solo sound in secret agent and bought and sold, sounds like two complete different guitars by using volume and ton control no f.....floor effects. He played a lot of different amps in his career but always achieved his own special sound.
This dude could do it all, play that guitar, wrote great songs (not cliche radio friendly tunes) and could sing the hell out of them. Hands down my favorite musician, guys like Van Halen, Blackmore aka "Guitar Gods" etc...could not do what RG did.
How did I miss this guy for 48+ years of playing? Didn't get played on my local FM stations in the 70's, and I knew some real guitarslingers back then. They were Hendrix or Blackmore or Cream/Clapton. Rory is up there. Shame he died so young.
Recently saw an interview with Alex Lifeson of Rush, he credited Rory so highly as a musician and a great person. Alex said he may have used a few Rory guitar methods, Harmonics being one of them.

That’s what you called a band. Rory on guitar and vocals, with the equally talented Gerry, on bass. Add the other guys in the band and you have the perfect blend. They don’t make music like this now. RIP Rory.

Do not like to say - who was or is THE BEST Bluesrock Band i have seen at concert in my life. (I am 74 now und lucky enought to see Peter Green, Roy Buchanan, Hendrix, Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Gary Moore) but i can say - never have seen such powerful concerts again as Rory Callagher gave to us.
I seen some of the best and some up close and person[small venues],but this man was by far the best.When you tell people how good he was,sadly many say WHO.

Another great guitarist that isn't known to the masses is Robin Trower. He's not bluesy, but has a unique sound on a very high level.
