I just got the Paiste Formula 602 ME in and I can’t believe I spent almost $3000 from a store that only excepts returns twice a year. I hate these cymbals! I bought the 18’, 19” crash and 20” ride with the 14” matching hats 18” China , and the 8” & 10” splash. They sound a whole hell of a lot better on RUclips when they’re mic’d! OMG I’m just sick over this. They don’t cut through the music, you have to hit them HARD to get them to play at decent volumes. I just don’t understand this? I have a Zildjian K sweet box set that’s comparable in size, and oh man they sound SOOO MUCH BETTER!!! And at less than half the price! If you’re going to buy these them you really need to mic and mix them!
Funny how over 45 years ago, he started with Paiste's thinnest cymbals ever, the Formula 602's, and is now playing some of the heaviest that Paiste has to offer today.. I've been using Paiste for over 20 years, and i can say that i'm not crazy about the Twenty Customs, or it's predecessor, the Twenty series.. Not very musical or versatile cymbals..
Besides being a iconic drummer for the ages, Ian Paice seems like the kindest, classiest person one could ever meet. Love him!
Ian Paice's Paiste 2002's are the Best Sizes & Setup for his Amazing Cymbal Sounds !
No doubt one of the top drummers of all time, I was blown away by the one handed snare roll, demonstrates how truly awesome this guy is. IA at
The Full Ride is one of the greatest Paiste Rides I've heard.
Had the man the legend in again this morning which is a good excuse to remind us why he is so awesome! #ianpaice
by far the best chinas I ever heard. BRING THEM BACK
Wow that bit at the end was straight out of "Strange Kind Of Woman"!
A legend
Ian Paice with a different line from 2002 is an unique thing...
In 1968 I thought he played Giant Beat series.
Yes, in the very early days but then I have always seen him with 2002 cymbals.
nazzare79 Yes, you're right. In France, we say 'you don't change a winning team'.
...and about his cymbals' set the funny thing imo is his 24" crash...it's like a flying u.f.o...:)
@@nazzare79 he switched to the 2002 series as soon as it came out (didn't he also use the 602s very early on...?), which I believe was 1971.
listen to Chasing Shadows (Deep Purple) he is playing the last section!
Corey Zimmerman 7
I wanna see him play around with Giant Beats?
Great cymbals!
The metal ride sounds very eerily similar to the 22K custom by Zildjian.
I have it and it's awesome
Paiste is better than Zildjian ! Zildjian is only marketing.
@@zorroduweb6810 Probably the best description I have ever heard regarding Zildjian.
Watch through a mirror back at the monitor and you will see Ian Paice playing right handed
Duh duh duuuuuuuuuuuuuuh
Give me the Signatures or the discontinued 3000 line.

You know I really thought Paiste being the incredible company that they are.. but have better sound quality on these recordings
Paice better than Bonham.
That's not nice to say. Both Paice and Bonham are at the top!!!!!
ThAt room sounds like crap. Not doing cymbals justice
