Ian Paice's Paiste 2002's are the Best Sizes & Setup for his Amazing Cymbal Sounds !

I just got the Paiste Formula 602 ME in and I can’t believe I spent almost $3000 from a store that only excepts returns twice a year. I hate these cymbals! I bought the 18’, 19” crash and 20” ride with the 14” matching hats 18” China , and the 8” & 10” splash. They sound a whole hell of a lot better on RUclips when they’re mic’d! OMG I’m just sick over this. They don’t cut through the music, you have to hit them HARD to get them to play at decent volumes. I just don’t understand this? I have a Zildjian K sweet box set that’s comparable in size, and oh man they sound SOOO MUCH BETTER!!! And at less than half the price! If you’re going to buy these them you really need to mic and mix them!

Honestly these look sick and feel really good they are quite big compared to other sticks but I like the feel of them my only complaint is the white paint on them comes off which is kind of annoying

Kudos, now 2021, watching Mark on BBC iplayer Saving Lives at Sea (RNLI series), S5ep9, talks about his career todate as drummer. Admiration all the way Sir, saving lives (unpaid) of some real stupid people getting themselves into near death situations. Checking your IG would have loved to see your family, partner (gal or guy - we don't care), kids, dog (we know from his 'cat save' he aint no cat man).. so much respect for RNLI guys/gals doing their thing - for free.

Yes! I have those sticks!! I am a big Rush fan so, these are the perfect sticks for me

For years and years my favorite stick was a Capella 5B with a nylon tip. I'd just bought a pair and went to a jam, was very excited to have my favorite stick when a good friend and a great drummer said try these, see what you think. They were the Erkine ride, and I was blown away but them, they were the perfect stick for me, I'd always played nylon to get the high pitch on the ride, and these sticks changed everything. From that night on this is the only stick I've played, and I'm not a jazz guy, I play rock and blues, I just love them. Funny story about Capella, I used to by them by the case and I called them directly to purchase a case, they told me I wasn't allowed to purchase them. I was like what now, you must be kidding me. He said no sir I'm sorry. Turns out I was talking to the law enforcement division, they also make and sell Police clubs and they thought I was trying to buy a case of Police sticks, so they transferred me to the music division and I was able to get that case.
