This was the first CD of the genre I purchased. A day after attending a small rave, I went to a little hole in the wall record store. The clerk said, "This is new, you should try it out." If I had a time machine I would go back and shake that guys hand. What a blessing! Much love to all those who see this comment. May the journey never end.

It was a rainy night & I remember buying this CD at Tower Records when it was released. I opened it up, got in my car and drove home passed my house and just kept going. Got back on the Freeway and must’ve drove @ 25 miles no traffic in the middle of the night with a light drizzle rain. Drove back home again only to pass up my house once more. Driving in the rain listening to Sasha for the first time got me hooked forever! Finally got home at the crack of dawn. I went to bed saying to myself “wow there is another life “. I gots to thank GOD for the music . 🎶🙏🏻🎵. It really changed my life completely. I’m taking this w/me when I leave.

@@coastalcruise1345 it had a different vibe back then. Some of the newer tracks are okay.. I prefer the feel of the older stuff. Im 40 and have been listening to house and techno since i was a freshman in HS, so perhaps thats why I favor the older era of the music. Ive heard plenty of shit these days called prog houe when its clearly minimal. The lines have been blurred a bit. To me progressive is a different sound. An twist on the basic formula.

This era was unmatched. Tiesto, Guetta etc. have no clue. I was very fortunate to be in this space all the way back to late 80s. Been to hundreds of live events over the years. KLF, Moby, FSOL, Lords of Acid etc. In terms of DJs, I caught the Sasha/Digweed show way back early 2000s and it was insane. Time truly has no mercy n how fast it passes us by.

Sasha is famous for his ‘in key’ mixing. I could be wrong. He picked up this technique from an early Hacienda resident Jon daSilva. It must have been a labourious process back then finding the key of the record. Goin up through the chromatic scale of the keyboard matching the key. Further confusion coming from ‘is it A minor or A major?’

I discovered Sasha and this CD one day at a Tower Records Listening Station (I miss that place) long ago. I was a bit too old to go out to the dance/club scene back in the late 90's so I didn't know much about techno/trance music but I've always loved the sound synth-pop from the 80's so this was something I instantly fell in love with. It IS crazy well made. Baffles me why other DJs didn’t feel compelled to raise their aesthetic standarts after hearing what is possible. Fillers are not mandatory, an extra effort in coherent track selection can turn a mix magical. But I guess the incentive structure in music / EDM mandated by humans really is what is at play.
