Not only he does cover all the machine features, but he plays it so well, and has that nice humor that simply makes me pleasantly smile during the whole video.
This guy... I only started watching these reviews earlier today and I immediately love this guy.
Such great insight into all of this stuff. 20-some minutes of Stimmer talking about the machine and how he would use it along with demonstrating what he can do with it is much more useful than watching half a dozen other "reviews" or "demos" because none of them cover the truly important stuff from a use perspective and none of them are capable of actually demonstrating what is really possible using the machine as much as he is. I don't need to have someone start recording and say "this is the LFO, watch what happens when I turn it."
Honestly these reviews are killing most of the other reviews/demos for me. Time well-spent watching these. Stimmer makes me like machines that I would have thought I would dislike based on other people's demos (no surprise thanks to his talent). Also I find it much easier to compare this stuff before purchase based on how he evaluated them and how I would use them. Very, very useful information here.
I have absolutely no interest in this device but I can’t get enough videos of Stimming. Arguably the most honest and entertaining reviewer on RUclips.
Stimming needs a weekly review
Just send us weekly new gear 😏
nah, most routine things get boring/tiresome eventually. Just let him do reviews when he feels like it!
👍
stimming gives the most brutal honest reviews on gear.. if manufacturers aren't paying attention they are failing to utilize a great source of inspiration.
And thats not a bad thing ;)
def not :-)
Halleluja 😂❤🎉
Excellent review. Would like to see more from Stimming int he future - far more honest than many other reviewers
There are some more already - ruclips.net/p/PLfRh37c5lvivSDyrYwwCm1H1xJrp0aj4M
I love this guy!
He looks like he's having an amazing time, really fun and informative.
This is one of the best review ever. Clear, in-depth explained, played enough to prelisten to the device, and with such a nice sense of humor.
Not often a gear review shows a top quality musician really put the kit through its paces and jam on it. Also Stimming is hilarious. Love it.
I have no intention of buying this drum machine but I watched the video bc it's Stimming doing the review. The guy is always fun and full of insights.
Finally someone shows off the full decay of the snare . Thank you
he could review every drum machine out there because i just wanted to listen to his jam
"I SWITCHED THE PATTERN" hahahahaha beautiful review
Loving the way your loving this thing. You always give honest reviews, and you were really grooving with it. I’ve got a tr8-s, but for stripped down banging techno, this looks the ticket. Still smiling at your fun. Nice.
Run the Drumbrute Impact into the TR8S input then you got 2 drum machines in one that's what i did!
Bought the Impact on the strength of this review, beast of a machine, synced with a Beatstep Pro, a Circuit and a Microfreak and its definitely holding it's own
I'm thinking about this for my microfreak.. Not too sure about the connections though. What do you connect to what..? Thank you
@@noodlingaround2023 BSP midi to Circuit, BSP clock to DBI and DBI clock to MF, works a treat
What an awesome review, thank you! Fantastic jamming at the end too :D
"Bottom line: if you have talent, you can play well even on a potato. A great review. Thank you." ~ humans are and always will be the most important piece of the puzzle, the machines are here to serve us.
"I like this distortion, even though i will never use it" truer words have never been spoken
Bitte mehr Gear Reviews von Stimming in kleineren Abständen. Das macht Laune. Super Typ!
Hängt halt immer davon ab was der Markt gerade zu bieten hat.
18:55 "NJEA, AH AH AH AH, I SWITCHED THE PATTERN !". That distortion sold it to me, after seeing a B-stock at my fav shop.
I love ya man, your awkwardness and politeness is very refreshing, sometimes the colors just don't gel eh! I'm with you, we're all influenced by the aesthetic, it does make a difference too the energy of creation.
I dig this guy. Very charismatic and talented. I recently picked up one of these machines. Gr8 machine! Watching this vid really opened new doors of inspiration for me. I love the way he ends the video. I agree.
"Oh I forgot the cowbell sorry... ding ding that's the cowbell" lol
Excellent video! I like the fact that you give a very honest review, not only praising the machine, and also that you did it differently from others I've been watching. Very cool and original.
Now to the machine, I think it sounds wayyyyy better than the original. The only 2 things that (for me) prevent it from being one of the best drum machines ever are that 1) you can't automate all the knobs, and 2) that it doesn't have some AD converter that sends 4 usb audio channels straight to the DAW, which would be much better for production. But as you said, for the price, you can't go wrong with this. I sure as hell will pick one when it's available here.
I don't like the Impact for the stuff I want to do with it, but Stimming manages to get a sound out of the machine that 99% of the other videos just don't get anywhere near.
Fantastic review, because drum machines really shine when they're in the right hands.
It wins by default as it has ‘song’ mode - so many machines don’t these days. Plus random, polyrhythm and other. Then you can eq , compress and other post device effects. The sound is hard to swallow at first but it’ll get there and mix. 15:54
"It's a bit OUCH! Sorry for that." is my favourite moment in all of this... nicely reviewed all in all
Watching you get lost and have fun towards the end is what sold it for me. Just bought it thanks to this video.
Congrats on the purchase.
I got one early December.
I'm a noob at electronic music, guitar is my main instrument, but this is so simple to use and drums/rhythm are such a primal part of music that it helps just give a base to what I'm writing and inspire some new things.
For the price, it's a great machine!
Awesome review.
You really know how to tweak these knobs, damn....
Stimming should be every manufacturers default go-to gear reviewer.
would actually love to see him doing Lawnmowers, Hoovers Household appliances etc
3:12 one kick, a pinch of hi hat and he is able to make it sound in a way that I want to hear a whole track.
Some people moan about the Impact snare drum........yes its better through a mixer on the individual out, but the best 'snare' on this machine I've found is the FM on the end, again run it through a mixer on full gated reverb effect, give it a tweak and its the best trippy off beat sound you'll hear all week!!
Finally a video in which you can't help yourself but be excited. For a cheap drum machine no less. Awesome! 😀

I love your use of the onboard effects. You push them right to the point where it’s almost too much, but still tasteful. Especially reverbs.
I often come to that video and directly jump to 18:55 :D
Also i've just bought one yesterday :D Thanks Stimming. And I think it is actually velocity sensitive when i use it as a controller in my DAW, very useful for the randomizer function when i wanna work with a sample kit
I still often come to that video for that exact moment
18:08 to finish, WOW. He made that thing BANG! This is my new favorite clip!
I thought I didn't particularly like the sounds of the DrumBrute Impact until I heard Stimmer use it. He made it sound amazing. I've never heard anyone come close to this.
"So the best thing is, this machine only costs 300 Euros. So... go buy one." 🤣
It sounds decent and is very tweakable. I think using it as a midi controller with the velocity sensitivity and sequencer is going to be very useful. The lack of quantize if wanted is great. Thanks for the review
Awesome review. And your pattern at the end - really good. Didn’t want it to stop!
I decided to buy an DrumBrute Impact after looking also this video, and what should I say. I love it! Also my little daughter (10 years) can work with the machine. Now the problem is, that anytime I'm in the studio she wants to play the Drum Brute....
Have her start making patterns and beats, she can pay her way through college!
I have not owned an analog drum machine since the mid 1980s when I bought a new Roland707. The DrumBrute drum machine impressed me with its 4 individual outputs and mix output. Independent effects processing is easy and creative. And now that I have the best sounding sampler in the world, recording analog one shots and patterns into my sampler would really add to the creativity. Now that only the Impact is available, the other Arturia has been discontinued, the choice is simple.
The 707 is not an analog drum machine, I think you meant to say a hardware drum machine. Drumbrute Impact is lovely indeed and very very fun to use
It’s videos like this I wish you could give more than a thumbs up to show appreciation. Excellent review from a true master of the art. More of this please, EB.
Thanks! And for more reviews we need more interesting new gear 😃
Telekom Electronic Beats digitone maybe ? :)
The trick with random is to just use very low values to add some slight variation to the beat, to break up that feel of identical mechanical looping when your hands are doing something else. But I agree there are better ways of doing random, like where you program in hits that have a probability of being triggered each time around, which gives you more control than the DB just throwing in hits at whatever random times.
Brilliant review and performance demonstration from Stimming, as always!

@@ElectronicBeatsTV Way ahead of you! :)
great charming video and great demo tracks! i think the impact might just be what i need for drums :) ordered the black version!
Stimming's reviews of kit have now become my absolute go-to reviews of equipment, super concise, super clear, in depth without becoming boring and he flies through the details while keeping it interesting and informative. Bravo sir. Totally sold me an Elektron model cycles. I think it's a fucking ugly bit of kit but it's functions are top rate for it's price. I don't mind the looks on this device as much as he clearly does haha! But it's still a great review. No velocity is a big one for me, i'll be passing.
It was a deciding factor for me :) I run mine through a HEXE Bitcrusher III
But it has velocity-sensitive pads (so Arturia says in the manual). The question is how responsive are the pressure-sensitivity of these pads. Anyone knows !?
Nice review! You show lots of personality and get really good results. I love that colored kick sound. For the price, it sounds like a no brainer. It will compliment my minibrute 2S nicely.
Love Stimming hardware reviews.. he goes to the detail!
What I love about your reviews are the no bullshit approach and the moments where you find ‘that something’ and go off on one! Peace ✌️
I'm so excited- I just ordered one! That sequencer looks super fun!
This is by far the best sounding review of the drumbrute impact out there. And I'm still not sold on the sound :(
I need an effect per channel for it to be usable. Stimming you're a monster on it though. Great stuff.
Howbout this one: ruclips.net/video/6yl2cggITzg/видео.html
Honestly? 😬
Honestly! (Können diese Augen lügen?) In fact, I don't particularly dig the sound of either Arturia DrumBrute. Just sounds bland to me. At least, Sam beat the sh*t of it. Guess, that's why you call it a Beat Machine, no?
Arturia needed to steal the hi hats from someone, and sample it, just as Roland did.
d3ep.com/news/creator-of-the-909-hi-hat-sues-house-music
They should have scrapped the random function for a delay, the cowbell since it has no changeable parameters, and the fm drum color function. Motion sequencing would have really made this something most producers would have gotten their hands on. Other than that it's a great little drum machine.

Awesome. Love the endong. This machine costs 300 euros, so go buy one. 👊
This the kind of reviews that is really helpful!
You halfstep demo at the end made me want one. It's #1 on my current want-list now.
I never had a drum-synth besides the Electribe ER-1, the Drumbrute Impact seems versatile enough use in place of samples.
Man ,you`re creator! That was inspiring like hell!!
Best reviewer in the whole cloud.
i'm never going to buy one of these, but this is just about the best review of any instrument i've ever seen. just look at 23:41 if you're undecided
Great Review as always from Stimming
Well, that was a great review. You make some great sounds with this mini beast, I'm getting one for sure.
Got a microfreak about two months ago, his review convinced me immediately. Might have to look into one of these eventually too.
less sounds but after having a drumbrute for a couple months (and watching this review a couple times) i think the impact is just the better of the 2 straight out of the box. awesome review.
Thank you... I heard the ad, and the distortion seemed to be the most interesting personality trait, which was exploited quite nicely here.
Stimming, that beat wouldn`t sound out of place in the berlin boiler room. i`m a fan, BANGIN.....
You know it’s an excellent review when you have your viewers head noddin !
Liked and subbed at 18:56!!! how a human goes blu screen! LOVE! Man, thank you for sharing, super interesting
part where he showcases the circuit distortion is absolute fire :D
Holy shit this is a good review! I love how Martin looses himself!
A good review. It misses out on the random function though. As demonstrated, it doesn't sound good. It's preferable to use it on one of the drums only, eg snare, instead of all the drums. Also it sounds much better and adds a human-like touch, when you set it to very low values , eg 7
good tip
I love this drum machine - I wish they would make an Impact v2 to replace the original drumbrute - same sound as the impact - more functionality - more expensive. Add a few additional parameters to each instrument like a click for the kick etc and a few more FM voices. The FM voice is awesome. I think the hats could definitely be improved.
Just get a model cycles is you want shit tons of FM. They dropped the ball on this machine. Not enough modulating parameters and some sounds have none but volume and decay which is Lame! But in other areas they killed it. A version 2 is a must.
Keiner macht so viel Spaß wie Stimming!
First video I have watched on your channel..... I'm subscribed. Even if you don't have any other good videos, which I know won't be the case.... Too much fun on this thing as it turns a grown man into a child having the most fun it's ever had. I have been watching endless footage to help me decide on a couple of the VOLCA's or this crazy piece of kit. Think I just decided... (although I know the Drumbrute impact must have its limitations at this price). There must be so many people that forget to even link it upto their synth as hours pass just making beats & wow can this thing do that, especially if you are an EDM addict like myself.... I think I have just used my dopamine levels for the week (if that's possible) listening to that bass!!! Sorry I never even got your name pal.... but great demo, thanks.
Pretty sure you'll find some more here. At least some more Stimming reviews 😉
The outro jam was fantastic. Makes me want one pronto
damn bro that last track sounded so good, great job!
Those jams were just SO sick.
Finally a dude that shows some distortion on this beast. But what can you expect from stimmt nicht!
Great honest review.
Some meme potential at 18:55
At 21:20, too! hahah
Totally agree upon the colour of the upper layer buttons.
that half time jam was insane.
Hi! From Argentina! Nice video dude. I just bought the drumbrute impact and I have a question maybe you can help me. Do you know how can I change the clock to sync correctly my drumbrute pact with a Korg volca? Because when I connect it from clock out to sync in the volca is really faster speed. Tanks you so much hope you can help me with this! Cheersss
Change the clock language via the app "Arturia midi control centre" for the Drumbrute Impact. I think Korg Volca has 2PPQ... Just Google it :)
Uh...Uh.Uh...Uh switching of patterns at 19.03 is just hilarious and not a bad variation, well done Master SeqChef
Stimming you're amazing as always
Nice review, and an excellent drum machine. Yes the colors are clashing, it could easily be solved if Arturia just removed the orange colored bar from the bottom. The sounds are fantastic, pure electronic drum sounds perfect for many genres and the distortion just takes it to another level. I think the Korg volca drum is a strong competitor against this machine in terms of sound, and at half the price. Having said that, this is a very desirable drum machine and I can't wait to have one!
While the Volca Drum is great value for the price, I would say it is complementary to the Drumbrute rather than a competitor, as they are very different beasts with different purposes. The Drumbrute has a limited range of sounds that is simple but classic analogue, programmed and sequenced quickly and with multiple I/O, whereas the Volca has limited I/O and is more fiddly to program - it would take a lot more tweaking to get those classic sounds, but where it excels is in quirky digital sounds and you can get pitched percussion and FX sounds, and even melodic sounds. So it really depends what your needs are. Or even better, get both and sync them up :D
This was informative and entertaining

Last comment "This machine costs 300 EUR, so go buy one" - Love it!
So much passion !!!!
Love it
I'm subscribing because of your dancing.
23:41 - aaaaand you're back in the room hahaha
Killer pattern at the end...WOW.
totally !
Love the distorted gabber kicks. You should do that more often, Martin ;-)
@18:58 proper laughed out loud at this.....I have also experienced this same pain with my DBI
Man, you're a wizard of the grooves!! 20:00 and on .................... crazy!
Inspirational to watch this. Just wonderful.

Thanks for the lesson .. 💯
I love the hats
Danke für den unterhaltsamen Review und die amüsante Kritik bezüglich des Designs! ;) Aber Du hast Recht... grausam fürs Auge
We really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing.
13:00 What a freaking beat. Holy shit!
Can you use the distortion on one pad and not use it on another? Or is it all or nothing? Thanks if you can let me know.
The distortion knob on the top affects all sounds. The ‘color’ button can add distortion to the kick separately. Additionally, there is an ‘individual outs’ section on the back of the device. It allows you to exclude certain instruments from the main mix and route them with cables wherever you want. You can apply FX pedals to it separately or route it into the interface and add FX in your DAW. However, you need to mix it back with the rest of the instruments using a hardware mixer or in your DAW.
