Terrific episode! Can we have more of these? They're fun!
Awesome, glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Sometimes also, not everything considered "Bougie" works better than the "cheap" or "moderate" items.
Isn't that the truth?? Great point!
Something that has saved me money on beauty products is to buy it at Ulta if it's a product I haven't tried before because they have an awesome return policy. As long as you haven't used more than 80% of something and it's within the time frame you can return it if you don't like it. Sometimes I pay a couple of dollars more, but it's worth it.
I like some of these products, but I was wondering if you can make a video on how to save for a down payment on a house? Or maybe a video listing easy entry careers where a degree is not required, but you can still make a decent income?
I heard if it touches the ground, its always worth investing the extra money. So furniture, mattresses, shoes, and tires!
Haha that's fascinating, I hadn't heard that but I like it! As long as you don't have payments for those things. :)
My hair dryer cost $170 ten years ago and it’s still perform good as new. At that time my coworkers thought I was crazy for spending that much on a dryer but I knew it worth😁
Love this! Please do again.
Thanks Lindsay!
With some things you get what you pay for. For others even if you looked under a microscope you couldn't tell a difference between the off-brand and the real deal. Very smart to consider what kind of item you're dealing with when purchasing! :)
THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!!
I would recommend making homemade laundry detergent. MUCH cheaper!! You make it up once every 6-9 months, and get a total of 10 gallons!! The recipe I ise calls for water, a bar of Fels-Naptha soap, some Arm and Hammer washing soda (not baking soda), and some Borax. Easy, takes maybe an hour, and you're done for MONTHS!!
Oooo great advice, Tina! Thanks for sharing. :)
For hairdryer in the bougie category the Dyson hair dryer is truly wonderful if you have thick long hair and the funds 😐😐
I have recently discovered Dollar Tree. Somethings are you get what you pay for, but some things are actually pretty good especially for stuff you're expecting to get messed up, ex: broom.
For most of these I’m probably going to use the cheap version for life haha
Nothing wrong with that! I love me some Amazon.
Love Rachel doing these shows..she keep it real
Baby step 7 and we buy mostly cheap or moderate for most stuff. Wife has a few fancy skincare items more than top ones here and that's fine with me. Just depends on the item and how much use they get for determining how much we pay.
My wife will forever be in the “Ross” category for clothing and and lots of other “good quality products” for the “bougie” brands!
Nothing wrong with that! Shopping at Ross and stores like it is a great way to save money on name brands.
Love the practicality! Thank you, Rachel!
Okay girl, baby step 6ish here, since we invest way more than 15%. Lol point is I love some of the cheaps. Yes Cereve all day. Amazon brand sunscreen is very awesome too by the way. It’s like $6...
I'm the same way! Love me some Amazon. Congrats on being on Baby Step 6 👏💪 Proud of you!
@@RachelCruze omg star struck. Thank you and meant so much coming from ya...
Yeah it's personal. For me
Cheap - Toilet paper and outdoor landscaping
Moderate - Beans more often then meat; Clothes at Marshals instead of Macys
Splurge - Organic Produce and Meat
I focus on buying the highest quality products I can. I buy a gallon of Dr.Bronners soap and dillute it 10 gto 1. A gallon will last a year+. The same with EO Lavender hand/body lotion, shampoo and conditioner etc.. I may spend more money upfront when I buy a gallon of these items we all use but over time I am spending MUCH less than if I was buying smaller bottle over and over. Also, I only use one plastic container in a year+ time which I feel is VERY Important for the environment.
I prefer higher quality stuff too. Definitely, buying things in bulk is a great idea. I do that as well. It’s also convenient as your regular weekly shop is smaller, as not always topping up.
I’m a sucker for Pottery Barn too 😆
Love this series!
I use the ember mug and I love love it!
Thank you for this video I'm supposed to be on the cheap side but i kept buying from the moderate section. Now i learned my lesson lol ill shop at dollar general
Haha! That's what I'm here for ;) Thanks for watching, Jazmin!
Thank you for sharing about the Libby app! I just downloaded it for my book club. I hope to save a lot of money this way.
Awesome! Thanks for watching, Alicia!
yeah I'm so cheap, except for the Ember mug that was a birthday present and is so nice to have the perfect temperature coffee for over an hour.
Great vid idea.. kudos.
I am struggling with wanting to spend anything while in debt. I mean even cheap stuff below $100.
I don't use half of those things. But a lot of the items on here are actually a lot cheaper than listed
Ummm Rachel I swear sometimes I think we are the same person. 😂 Love some Aquaphor and Cerave!!!
Hahaha right?! They're the best! Thanks for watching, Jessica! ☺️
Apparently I'm bougie when it comes to cleaning products. I have both the moderate and bougie vacuums plus a cordless Dyson. I also have the bougie steam mop.
Your moderate category would be my bogie. For example, Cheap is cheap...you can get 2/3 chapsticks got $1 at dollar tree. I couldn’t imagine spending more than $5.
Cheap toothbrush...don’t even bother with electric!
Fun video! Thank you!!
Gonna have fun
Dude thank you, this helps! Girl, you make me feel like I can do this! Your attitude is so fun. Can you be my friend, LOL ☺️😜
The Ember mug made my jaw drop on what you can do with temp setting... 😯🤤
I'm so glad you found this helpful! Thanks for watching ☺️
Hi, Struggling because of the pandemic. Your videos are very informative.
I loved this 😀😀😀 but my moisturizer is Lancôme 130$ 😅
Frozen veggies are underrated, especially in the microwave steam bags!
Cheaper as well bro
Yes! THIS!
I just spent over 2K on a Kirby vacuum and I don't even have carpet in my new home😫
Moderate for Life. Forget what I Said Cheap it is
I ❤ the Video!
Dyson hairdryer
I liked the concept of the video but I think your definition of "essentials" is vastly different than mine. I assumed you'd talk about shampoo, baby diapers, laundry detergent, not natural deodorant, things like that.
Would you provide a link for ABLE tee shirts, please? I cannot find it online. Thanks!
Roombas are worth it, I have to say
Hiiiiii
What do you do when you’ve already shopped on the cheap?
Did miss preppy call her Mom by her first name?
Great video but the earrings are distracting because they move every time you talk
