Another day, another depressing Spelunky story from me Today I had a run where I had a good enough run to where I just bought the Ankh, and had 20+ bombs regardless. Of course, I got monkeyed into spikes the next level and lost it, but I managed to get a Jetpack and a Shotgun, so I decided to go for it anyway. Beat the ice caverns without taking a hit, killed Anubis no problem, and got to the last level before Olmec. It was a dark level. With thwomps I couldn't see, that made me panic jet pack into a dart trap. Which knocked me into a tiki trap. That was supposed to be my first time beating the game. Thank you dark levels.
Armydillo62o Can I share mine too? So I had a quite frankly amazing start. 1-1 had five crates for me to open, all bombs, even a bomb box! Got paste, bought more bombs etc. No sacrifices and health stayed at 4 into 2-1. There's a bomb shop and I buy even more. I'm at roughly 80 bombs now, so I basically am prepped for the rest of the game. It got even better though when I broke a crate and got a jetpack. 2-3 contains a hive which I cheesed with a 1 block gap and spiked boots, I'm now at a solid 9 health, things looking good. I head into 3-1 and beat it in record time. I start to get confident and in 3-2 I'm at the exit and jump onto a nearby yeti for the sake of it. However, game says I was a bit too diagonal and yeti tosses me into a wall. I mash my space bar like hell for some reason but he approaches and tosses me again - into the abyss. 90+ bombs, a jetpack, 9 health all gone to the abyss. I rest my head on my table scolding myself for being overconfident.
This is a simple one, but i got to the final form of yama but there was a block in the way with a spike ball trap on top, so i decided to bomb the spike ball, and so the ball killed me since i had 1 hp. On the bright side i learned that the ball does not disappear and it was the last trap needed in my journal entry and on a happier note i beat yama just 2 weeks ago, although i used the infinite health exploit

I had a nice karma death after baiting a giant spider into a spike while laughing at it and then immediately falling on the same spikes because i forgot the shotgun has a knock back...

I’m just going to keep leaving messages about the blow up more blocks With your bombs until I’m noticed then delete all my messages. But for those unaware, if you’re in a corner, you can place them re pick up and re place a bomb deeper into the the corner and it blows up more room. Really useful, just be careful about anything else you can blow up in the area. Also using ropes for the black market instead of hoping they don’t jump behind you usually works out very well.
