Scamming people with dementia and their caregivers might be the lowest form of grifting. I hope Facebook does more to prevent this type of blatant account spoofing.
I hope so too. It's ridiculous they can stay in business with no way to actually reach customer support or a real live person.

This is awful, glad you caught this with your Dad purchases. I have just joined the Careblazers Community and have enjoyed the video's with Dr. Natalie. I became a first time caregiver and these have help so much in why and how to handle problems as they come up. Hope they can put a stop to this kind of fraud on the platform.

This crap would not happen so much if Facebook followed through by investigating and handling the situation. There’s no incentive by Facebook since they’re not the ones being negatively affected. Nor are they losing money.

I am grateful that my mother isn't online at all now that her dementia has become so pronounced. There is already enough to worry about without that issue compounding everything.

I reported it and mentioned the problem on a Facebook group I belong to. Hopefully if enough people report it, it will finally get taken down.
The worst thing about this is that Facebook has done nothing. But good for you for contacting the media! That kind of coverage will help you, and help others to avoid such scams. Facebook is not to be trusted. I almost never post on my own account. I don’t use them for my business.

Yes, my dad goes on Facebook. And so far, the fake page is still alive and well. 😫
How awful! This is so sad. This is happening to so many. Thankfully, you became aware of this. Another channel I follow, same thing happened to her. She had to let everyone know it wasn't her.

I'm so sorry to learn that you were being impersonated and it resulted in your dad getting scammed. I know you would NEVER randomly send out a link and ask people to buy things, especially drugs or supplements. I really hope the fake account gets taken down. It does not deserve an audience.
