All these old commenters weren't watching this live. They had just gotten off stage. Were backstage for the presentation of album of the year came back on stage and instead of making a speech to close out the show they gave a performance. Of which the Grammys showed 3 uninterrupted minutes of. Instead of the 1 minute long speech + host to close out the show. No one had ever done it. It was incredible.
most definately, watched it live and said what a great ending and playoff and they sound great i was like 22, brings me back, first time i heard them was the cover of wake up for the movie where the wild things are, which is great.
When they won at the end, I was so happy for some reason. I felt so happy going to school and people saying, WHOS ARCADE FIRE? THEY DRESS LIKE OLD PEOPLE. And I was just like yesssssssssss
I remember seeing this live and was fucking amazed at that time music was kinda like today losing or not having a message. Needless to say I went and bought the album the next day. Loved the whole album
SERIOUSLY, how fucked up is it when a MUSIC awards show shows such disrespect to musicians - musicians that they just gave an award to - by blasting ads over their performance?
@LEWISR08 Damn straight!!! When I first became infatuated with arcade Fire early on in Montreal I had no idea that they would actually make it. So used to hearing absolute tripe on the radio and in the streets, but now I stand corrected. Only took 10 years!
To be honest this is when I fell in love with Arcade Fire! Yes you can look at it as they got hosed with the ads, but I choose to remember how I felt in that moment watching this live on tv I thought it was and still to this day one of the coolest playoff the air I've seen period the performance was organic. The the fact that they're Canadians makes them even cooler in my book and I'm American 👍🏽
First of all, its the Grammys what do you expect?? Secondly, did you see the faces of the crowd when they won? Ha! Great band, totally underated. Another great Canadian band is Hey Rosetta! Try the video "There's An Arc" you have to watch the whole thing to appreciate what music really is. Crank it!!!

I remember this live - it was excellent
I too, saw it live. What got me was the absolute joy on their faces during the performance 😄
It was incredible. I still get goosebumps thinking about it
The cheer from the crowd (and not half the celebrities) is what makes Arcade Fire's win even sweeter.
The ‘upset’ win into this performance is one of most iconic Grammy moments ever and in my opinion the most iconic.

cover? it's their own song, just a different take @@KianooshKasra-g6o

30 years from now, when people ask me what the band of my generation is, I will proudly point to these wonderful people.
No

Its pretty pathetic CBS wouldnt put this up themselves. I appreciate you doing this though.
I love that they talk about "business men" drinking blood AT THE GRAMMYS
This song made me quit my job business.
@@blahblahblahblahbla2705 wtf?

No one ever did this before. They forewent the speech to perform a song right after performing one before the award.

Goddamned ads, no wonder why they got to make Everything Now.
Fucking ads! I'm missing Arcade Fire time and the best part of song(yaknow, where the beat/tempo changes)
These people are my idols. Instead of learning songs on my guitar by Taylor Swift or something ARCADE FIRE all the way
11 years later, both Arcade Fire and Taylor Swift are still relevant artists
@LiarsBall Awesome! All about the message eh? There is still hope for mankind!
@LEWISR08 ..and modern music!!
💓
WHAT THE FUCK ? ADVERTISEMENTS DURING THE SONG ??? Wonder if they'd do that for an Eminem performance u_u
FUCKS
ONLY IN AMERICA
@Reshbj Or possibly Canada...
Is that a Simpsons reference?
@LiarsBall you would be wrong
