i say its Ventress
I figured I'll reply to you directly about something in the Phantom Menace that's a bit overlooked.
Midi-Chlorians are a direct result of the mystic sides of the Force in living things. Some have antibodies against the Midi-Chlorians, resulting in beings (almost always non-sentients), entirely immune to the effects of the force. In the comics, Yoda even goes to a planet where it's impossible for him to use the force on a certain type of crystal structure.
Midi-Chlorians can be nurtured in non-force sensitives in order to tap into the Force-- we saw this with Sabine Wren. It took a lot of effort, but she was eventually able to tap into the force despite being born without sensitivity like Ezra, or the average child inducted into the old Jedi Order. Some species are more sensitive to the Force than others, and some species are more resistant to certain aspects of the Force, like mind-tricks, than some others. Troydarians, for example, are almost never force-sensitive but it is possible in rare cases. Hell, if there can be force-sensitive *rocks* in the High Republic books, there's gotta be more to the Force than simply a bunch of microbes.
The force is still a mystic entity, Midi-Chlorians only went to explain how a PERSON can actively tap into the force. The force is still mystic too, in that the living force seems to absolutely abhor the practice of cloning, or other forms of artificial birth, which is why the perversion of the Force into allowing for the virgin birth of Anakin Skywalker was so profound and an essential part of why he was the Chosen One. Although, given that information, it also doesn't explain how Omega somehow has a high enough M-count to assist in Project Necromancer, given the fact she is in and of herself a clone.
Using science to explain the force also doesn't explain entities like The Ones, the Bendu, or the allusions to Legends entities like the Starwierds, and Abeloth. It doesn't explain the Whills that Yoda encountered in The Clone Wars, and it doesn't explain how The Force is affected by the anomalies of Wild Space that Rey had to navigate.
Like the Force itself in it's dichotomy, the applications of science and mysticism can both apply to the force in a balanced and equal measure. and I think that modern Star Wars has done an excellent job like that.
Shiii longer ! 19 min !!! And let’s not get started with “tales of a Jedi” (which I looooooooved. But some was like 14 min long. Like cmon. They can’t make 30 min episodes? Wtf ?? SC ALWASYS or 99.9% of the time shows me a few things or many small or big details I missed (which I don’t see any channels pointing out at all or until SC puts out a video that points out things and then other channels are like duh obviously because of insert what SC pointed out here ) SC IS probably my most favorite channel for star wars
see :v
No, not Boba, you can hear Ventress's theme song when Fennec is talking to the Bounty Hunter.
Thought the same, Fennec was tipping Ventress.
I have a feeling she's talking to Ventress too.
Nice catch. 👍
Precisely this: It's Ventress. It's a subtle hint, but the music does seem to give it away.
It's obvious, since she was presented in trailer
I didn’t even hear that and knew it was her lol. There’s only one (supposedly dead) bounty hunter that would know anything in detail about “m-counts”
It’s funny how ScreenCrush’s videos are almost as long as the Bad Batch episodes themselves 😂
Yup and the exact reason I stopped paying for Disney +
They would probably be like 5-10 mins shorter if they include random clips and stuff
Star Wars Explained had a two hour video just for 30 second trailer.
Episode so nice we watch it twice
@@cam_p_bells9506so you don't watch the show anymore? What are you doing here then??
It's Ventress. Let's not forget that she was a bounty hunter for a stint. Would make the most sense.
I think she’s speaking to Ventress. Big twist? She’s helping force sensitive clones along with Quinlan Vos.
Yes, this is my hope... After they dropped "The Path" in Obi Wan I've thought that would be the next great opportunity for a series that could be set between the PT & OT that could thrive with Force users but not rely or conflict with legacy characters & cannon... An Underground Railroad of sorts in the SWU
@@TheLongnecker Agree! Would be so cool to see. The yellow lightsaber in the trailers show she’s come to the light side and it would make sense. It’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan! 😁😁
The notes that play while Fennec Shand is talking to the person over the holoprojector are very reminiscent of Asajj Ventress' theme in the clone wars
Ah so it's her, I was expecting Cad since he was in the trailer but she was too, makes sense
I didn’t catch the music, but I had already assumed it was Ventress.
It is actually Fennec's theme I think
The force IS still Just energy in everything, the M count helps with how easily it comes to access it and how talented the person naturally is
Agree with this one.
Midichlorians are the means by which organisms interact with the Force. The Force itself is still nebulous and ineffable.
I love the idea that the Sith and the Empire think that mastering one aspect of the Force. Means they've mastered all of it.
Like Mitochondria that power cells in all living things but are suspected to have originally been a parasite as they have a completely different genome to their host species. I think its what George could have been thinking of, they even sound similar.
@watcherzero5256 that and monadism. A philosophy that every particle of matter and energy is connected in ways unknown to science.
Fanciful, until the theory of dark matter reared its head.
I like the fact that Pabu reflects Mount Tantiss. The mountain on Pabu, which is full of joie de vivre, nature and freedom, and Mount Tantiss, a technological facility that doesn't live nature, but only uses it as camouflage and explores it for its own purposes
I NEVER NOTICED THAT PARALLEL! GREAT OBSERVATION
I don’t think Omega is force sensitive. At this point, no clones outside of project necromancer were made to be force sensitive. And they didn’t say Omega was an m-count donor, the testing her blood past was to see if it would except an equal to, or greater than m-count than the donor.
Omega isn't force sensitive. Her genetic template or whatever is extremely compatible for cloning, just like Jango Fett. Her template would be the basis for force sensitive clones. (IMO)
The only explanation is Jango himself was force sensitive
@@Senormoola No, the likely answer is that the Kaminoians used Jango's DNA and mixed it with Palpatine's DNA in an attempt to create a clone with a high M-Count. All creatures are force sensitive, the stronger the M-Count the easier it is to tap into the Force. This is part of the reason why Palpatine is collecting Jedi, to use their DNA to create a clone with an extremely high M-Count to make him even more powerful than he was. This is why Palpatine wanted Anakin, and this is why Palpatine wanted Luke. To use them as a means to become more powerful. The problem was, they weren't ready yet with the cloning to attempt that. This is what's going on during the clone wars and during the rise of the Empire. Towards the end of the clone wars they were able to successfully create a clone that could possess an M-count.
The cloning for the clone army was a ruse. The cloning was to establish and create a successful cloning operation that could create a clone of the emperor. The clone wars had many purposes, the rise of the sith, as well as Palpatines quest for power, but the ultimate power was the ability to cheat death. It was unlikely Anakin would ever become faithful enough to Palpatine to give himself up to him, not with Luke around and not with Anakin knowing Luke was his son or that Luke had a sister, Leia. A part of Anakin would always want his children, not because he loved them exactly, but because he loved Padme. They were his connection to her, and he very much still loved her.
So, Palpatine's next option was Luke. If Luke could be swayed to the dark side and kill his father, then maybe Luke could be used to extend Palpatine's life. But Luke didn't, and instead, Anakin destroyed Palpatine. This is how we know Palpatine was being cloned before Return of the Jedi. In fact, a clue that Anakin was cloned was provided in Palpatine told Ben Solo that he was all the voices in his head. Palpatine's essence had been transferred into one clone after another trying to keep Palpatine alive.
A clone of one's self used as a vessel won't result in anything better than the original, and it will have the same limitations. Using a clone as a vessel, provides if that clone has a significant M-count might result in a clone that has the same force abilities. What ended up making Rey special was the fact that she was not a clone. While she was the product of a Palpatine clone offspring, she was in fact a conceived child.
What would be interesting to find out is if Omega was Palpatine's clone son's wife, who gave birth to Rey. Wouldn't that be a mind-fuck?
I agree. I think she is gifted with a talent for empathy and optimism.
Cough, Joruus C'baoth, cough cough
I don’t know that it’s confirmed that Omega is Force-sensitive, just that her DNA allows for a successful transfer of midichlorians into a clone
This guy is just so hilariously wrong and just won’t let it go.
that is what im hoping as well
One thing I really liked was how hunter is being a better father figure. Like he knows omega will be disappointed with being left behind, but he solves the problem by just trying to reason with her. But giving her another separate mission.
He gave her a job to do
Boba will probably show up later, considering that they brought Daniel Logan back to voice a clone cadet in episode 2. Highly doubt that was the only reason why they brought young Boba’s voice actor back. Haha But Fennec was 100% contacting Ventress. Cad and Fennec are on terrible terms and it’s implied that Fennec and Boba haven’t met until The Mandalorian. Boba and Ventress have worked together though. Could have a The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly showdown with Boba, Bane, and Ventress over Omega. Boba will change his mind after realizing that Omega is basically his unaltered sister and Jango’s unaltered daughter.
My favorite line of the whole episode is when Omega tells Crosshair, "You don't like anything." He doesn't object or try to counter the sentiment. I found it funny; and quite a mature observation.
Fennec’s definitely speaking to Ventress! I am so psyched to see her and hope we get to see QV as well!
She’s not force sensitive per se, her blood is a clean slate that allows for the transfer of midichlorians
As soon as Fennec explained that the atmosphere was toxic I thought of Sam Rockwell in Galaxy Quest! 😹
Never thought I'd see a yam'rii/ Huk appear in the bad batch. They are the species grevious fought against before he became a cyborg.
I love how temuera morrison pronounces Boba Fett the way it was pronounced in the holiday special. Lucasfilm owes that dude another shot at playing the character with a better storyline to follow.
15:30 Small detail, but I just noticed that these Huyaang lines are syntactically arranged like how Yoda speaks.
Midiclorians aren’t really mutually exclusive with the energy field. The midiclorians can just give someone the ability to access the energy field. The real trick is how you can get different levels of force sensitivity. Maybe everyone has midiclorians but in the vast majority of people they’re inert? And in a few people, especially in family lines, they are active. And even when they’re active obviously some people have more than others.
I remember hearing that M-count wasn’t so much a hard limit on what one can achieve in the Force as much as it was one’s innate aptitude for the Force. Like how one’s body might have traits that improve its athleticism, or one’s mind might be pre-adapted to analyzing complex systems and problems.
With enough time and concentrated effort, anyone can reach extreme heights in their connection to the Force. But for some, the road is a lot easier than for others.
@@GGBlaster that makes sense. Using the force should be like any other skill. How good you are depends on how much natural talent you have *and* how much you train. M count is about natural predisposition to talent. The reason I bring up active versus inert is because if they live in cells and can be passed through family lines, there also has to be a way for it to appear when it emerges in a child born to non force sensitive parents. Like a mutation made the Midichlorians active and if that person has kids, the mutation for active Midichlorians gets passed down, most likely.
The insectoid bounty is a Yam’rii from the planet Huk, there’s one in the background of the cantina in A New Hope.
Didnt grievous commit genocide against their race?
to me it sounded more like fenec was calling asajj
The "Thermal Detonator" fits in with the Louisiana theme in this episode: There is an alcoholic drink down here in New Orleans called a Hand Grenade. The base of the cup the drink is poured in is shaped like a hand grenade.
Somebody in LucasFilm has been to Mardi Gras lol
Omega is NOT force sensitive. It's explicitly stated in an earlier episode this season that her blood supports the addition/transfusion of midichlorians and that is what the empire is seeking because all other blood they have tested the midichlorians get destroyed when added. They need her because she is a prime candidate for the basis of a force sensitive clone because they can add midichlorians to that clones blood.
Toxic Louisiana got me LMAO
The Space Station they find Fennec on seems to be designed after (or may just be) The Wheel. It was on that Lego Freemaker Adventures show, then some comics.
I was thinking the same thing while I was watching.
The title of the episode "Bad Territory" refers Crosshair's mind. It's implied that what ails Crosshair is the burden and guilt that he is repressing in his head. It's reinforced when Omega tells him that he's "missed a lot" and he says, "I know."
It also refers to Fennec, bounty hunters, and the whole underworld. Obviously, it additionally refers to the Louisiana planet.
I don't think the Bad Batch ever knew Nala Se was the one who hired Shand. Seems like during their talk on the boat one of them would have mentioned it if they knew but Shand only says "the client" and Hunter and Wrecker didn't mention Nala Se. During season 1, they just understood that the Kaminoans wanted Omega back.
Ming-Na Wen is in Stargate Universe too. That is a trifecta of popular franchises ... Stargate, Marvel, and Star Wars.
The Bad Batch/ Apocalypse Now bit was GOLD!
I didn’t think about Boba popping up. I was thinking based on the angle we were seeing it looked like the top of Cad Bane’s hat
I love this show
Fennik was talking to Ventress. She became a bounty hunter after being abandoned.
she's supposed to be dead, but we do know from the trailer that she makes some appearance
2 mins ago I was just thinking “when will this be up”
Chronically online issues
Same
16:09 "Meditate with Omega in space Greece" *does* sound enticing! :)
i absolutely love how you do your ad integrations.
Why lol.
I would nuch rather a clear cut out ad space that is easy to find and skip, not annoying worked into the video so its more tome consuming to skip it. Do what other channels do and show us that its an ad read clearly so we can just skip.
@@tjbullis1491 imo it’s cause Doug participates so it’s adorable and makes the ad part tolerable
@@tjbullis1491 they have to make money somehow lol the ad intergrations work well and arnt boring and copy and paste talking points and a script from the advertiser they actually are bearable to watch unlike most youtubers. Plus you can skip if you want lol
Busy day huh
Obi-Wan was supposed to be a gardener before he was noticed by Qi Gon Gin and made him his Padawan
The "deadly monsters" looked like crocodiles...not similar, but downright just looked like crocs. Felt weirdly jarring.
You notice how the droid bouncers look like an unmodified version of L3-37 from "Solo: A Star Wars Story"? Every time I see them, I wonder if those are L3's original design, before she began modifying herself with Lando's help?
And here's a bit of a deep dive Easter Egg, if anyone is interested - in one of the "Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina" book from Legends, Ponda Baba was not telling Luke "I don't like you." He was actually yelling "Outta my way, human excrement!"
She was originally an astromech droid
The Pantoran you see at 11:03 kind of looks like Nebula from GotG
Even though the Rodian at 11:43 isn't voiced by Tom Kenny (like in Clone Wars), you don't think this could be Greedo?
Cylar (the Insectoid Bounty that Fennec is after) makes clicking sounds very reminiscent of The Predator
16:28 There's also the possibility it could be Ventress?
6:00 I was really hoping you'd say "Gift of the Highground.' MISSED OPPORTUNITY DX
It’s funny how all these borderline commercial level actors are all amazing and Great all the time on this channel.
I think that she’s talking to Quinlan Vos. I also think the Ventress we see in the trailer is from a flashback.
I love Omega's drip in this ep. I'd totally rock that jacket
The toxic swamp world is almost identical to the planet Quesh in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
I'm a fan and never hated it. It's a physical link to the metaphysical, but doesn't diminish the overall mystery.
Very good video, as always, Ryan.
But I think the bounty hunter Fenec is talking to is Asajj Ventress.
I remember she spent some time being a BH and that's how she´ll join the Bad Batch show.
I think the mystery bounty hunter is Asajj Ventress but that’s just me
was thinking the same. last we saw her she was on a bounty hunting job and she was in the season 3 trailer
Thanks, Ryan! Thanks, Harriet! Thanks, Brianna! Thanks, Ashley! ↔
It’s definitely Ventress at the end. The last time we saw her in Clone Wars, she too was bounty hunting, and she would most definitely know and be able to explain M-count.
Guy Fleegman never fails to make me laugh. :D
I can't believe fans ever wind and cried about medichlorines. As if the highly advanced civilizations spanning tens of thousands of years would never have used science to try to understand a physical property.
Honestly. I always felt people overreacted to it. Even in the OT, Force potential was implied to be linked to genetics. Otherwise why would Luke be as powerful as his father?
Agreed. That part of the conversation is pretty silly. If it's "all living beings" then there's a reason
Thank you. I just don't get the hate at all. I just don't. What exactly did they ruin by telling you some people just have more access to the force than others? If anything it makes the force potential less random
It was the context at the time. The mystique was suddenly quantifiable. I understood why though, it was to explain “I was amazed how strongly the force was with him”.
It's still a lame retcon. Think about it. Can you sense and control anything in your blood? Not hardly. You know when you have a fever (motochondria gone wild), and you might be able to feel extreme blood pressure changes, or throbbing pressure in sensitized flesh. Everything else is secondary effects as chemicals in your blood get into other cells.
So even if you had a cellular organism in your blood capable of transceiving The Force, how would you observe and control it with your nervous system, i.e. brain? _That_ is the missing part of the system. The mechanism by which your nerve signals interface with these microbes would be the key to Force sensitivity. The microbes would come in pony kegs and everyone would get a big shot of them and then get tested for the ability to use them. Having a naturally high midichlorian count would not be the critical factor.
It was Lucas, doing some exceptionally lazy writing, draining the last of his cred with OG fans, the rest having been spilled when he'd butchered the sacred documents by releasing the Special Editions.
19:07 we already know that Asajj Ventress is going to be in this season, it seems most likely that it is Asajj Ventress that Fennick was speaking with.
Doug: "who's that?" great bit
The midichlorians are a great idea. There’s a difference between the cosmic force and the living force.
The clone wars did not improve the prequels dialogue. People already liked the prequels. Social media just didn't exist yet. People will like the shows but still hate the sequels. In fact id argue that more people are disliking the shows because they connect to the sequels.
Kudos to your editor for finding a shot to make your Robby the Robot misidentification correct in context. ;)
The best part of this episode wasn't the monsters of the week . Even Wrecker is tired of them. The best part was every seen on Pabu. Omega deepening connections to Crosshairs and him acquiescence to her suggestions. On another note, where are the clone cadets. Haven't seen them on the Pabu yet.
Great video. I thought Apocalypse Now too
Definitely Ventress, the theme song is played and M count would best be directed to her as she is force sensitive. Nice Red Herring, Ryan Arey 😂
Love your videos!
I wonder if the engine that powered the ship crossing the river was from a podracer.... kind of looks like one of the engines
Mando. I hope it's Mando. He did go after an m-count target. Grogu.
nice episode, the calm before the storm
Omega is not for sensitive. Her clone DNA allows for transfer of m cells without degradation. Not that she has a high M count. go back to the first episode and listen to what Emery Carr says about Omega’s DNA
He doesn’t pay attention, he just spews the same garbage every episode.
I was watching another video about episode 8 and before it got started I was thinking how all of these projects are going to make the sequels a whole lot better and understanding!! Funny how you said this rite now @2:45…
I found it interesting that Hunter and Wrecker could just put their helmets on and be fine (built in breathers), but Fennec had to put a breather on before her helmet (no breather built in)
Leia does a simple force pull and people keep getting up in arms like she invented some super force power
I assumed the mysterious person Fennec is talking to is Asajj, but Boba would be interesting too.
Holy crap. Ryan referenced the Nintendo TMNT swimming level 👍🏽
Just because M’s are the carriers of the force it doesn’t mean you can’t interpret it however you want, it’s just another layer down. I really like the added science and the ability to TRY to manipulate the presence of the force in a lifeform. It adds complexity, nuance, and realism to the universe.
I'm thinking that part of Omega's Force sensitivity is future sight. It would make that scene that was referenced with Crosshair from S01 make more sense. Also, Thinking Fennec called in Asajj ventress. We know she's going to show up, and who better to hunt down a potential Force-sensitive person than a Bounty Hunter with the Force? The Boba theory is pretty good and possible, though.
16:16 Should definitely be a Dishcapes screen!
Omega teachin crosshair meditation that she learned Gunji that was the coolest scene!
2:58 you can see Crosshair smile a little while he is trying to meditate. In SWTOR there is a Jedi with Force Empathy that can sense other Force Users across distances, Omega may have that.
Boba fett!? There's only 1 bounty hunter who's been involved in the hunt for Force-sensitive children and we KNOW she's in this season: "assaj ventricles countess 8 on an octopod" - or just Ventress for short
I agree with your theories about Fennec’s mysterious contact, but just like the Sith I have two: either she contacted Asajj Ventress (we know she’s coming back and was also a new but notorious bounty hunter like Fennec) OR she contacted Boba, but Boba is going to send the Batch to go find Asajj (we know that Boba and Asajj have had dealings with each other and in Dark Desciple she even came to him for help)
Either way, I think this quest for identification of M-count will lead them to Asajj!
Ryan, me too. I thought in the first place to Heart of Darkness from Conrad and Apocalypse now
Pretty sure that was Asajj Ventress who Fennec was calling to regarding M-Count as she has her own mission related to it (countering the empire's/Emperor's plan).
She’s talking to Asaj Ventress
What did you think of the episode?
The analysis is the same length of the episode 🔥🔥🔥
It's definitely the worst of the season but hopes are still high
Just a clarification: they have yet to confirm that Omega is Force sensitive. So far all we know is that she was created with a blood template that can sustain a transfer of incoming blood with a high M count and maintain that high M count without degradation post-transfer. They never confirmed (at least not as of yet) omega’s blood on its own has any native M count. Love your content; thanks for these breakdowns!
@@mattrrissman this
I just want to know if you caught the Wilhelm scream.
Midichlorians aren't a "scientific explanation of the force", they're a means of measuring it. Midicholorians dont give someone force sensitivity, they're attracted to and bind to people who are more force sensitive
This is back to back weeks with no your mom jokes
You should start a show called "I'll talk about that later."😁 Say Hi to Doug.
That fight sequence on space Louisiana was so dark I couldn't see it. Seems like this is a growing trend. Was the same case a couple episodes ago.
Okay, I gotta say it. That sponsor transition was butter smooth.
I was really expecting Wrecker or Hunter to say something about "this deal keeps getting worse"
Burry in THR also has empathy attuned force mastery
"All words are made up" I like that thor infinity war reference doug
I think Fennec was talking to Ventress
I'm still amazed at Cad Bane's design both in animation and in live action. A true badass.
Truly agree!
Even his LEGO minifig is badass.
Definitely think fennec was calling Ventress
The Sith prioritize science and knowledge, while the Light Side (not necessarily the Jedi) may not. Additionally, the bounty hunter you're referring to is indeed Ventress
2:47 they definitely needed to bring out more clone wars content before episode 3
On the boat Fennec Stand did not tell them that it was Nala Se that hired her to kidnap Omega, they still don't have that information.
8:05 the Sith not only “harness” The Force, they attempt to bend The Force to their own will, rather than accept the will of The Force. The Sith don’t just use The Dark Side of The Force, the full intend to embrace their hatred, pain, and anger completely.
Pretty sure Ventress is who she was talking to. Cause I mean she's coming back in this series.
I am so hyped for this now and will definitely my first trip to the cinema since Avatar 2
I didn't realize space had the florida everglades but here we are..
The only things space doesn't have are underwear and suburbs...
