I love the pit lord animation. I love that they decided to make him big but solve the problem of “giant pit lord” by making him halfway in a portal. Super creative design work.
I’m not a warlock player but I will reroll for how amazing demo diabolist looks. If blizzard needs how frequently they spawn I might instantly lose all faith in them and quit wow lol. Like tune numbers down if needed but keep the spawn rates.
Diabolist Demo looks amazing, my only small problem with it would be, I wish the Overlord would stay out, even for a few seconds, just to cleave a couple more times. It looks like he just leaps in, spanks em, and vanishes almost instantly. Not a big deal, this tree looks the coolest out of all of the Hero talents, can't wait to play it myself

Anything for Aff where something is triggered by MR, they need to add Seed of Corruption to the clause, it can be a different effect, but in keys where you do mostly Seeding, having the entire tree's empower not trigger feels awkward. Kinda like the current tier where in the ptr it was just MR but then they later added Seed of Corruption.
I played healer since classic, moved to sod and hardcore and been on sod since. I really cant imagine wow wothout healing. Apart from that one time during legion when I played a lock and got hooked. Spamming UA and melting everyone, it all felt so clean. Damn I wanna hear some good things about affliction, love the idea of dots, such a good class fantasy.
Shock that the hero talent tree that *doesn't* involve Affliction is the best one. It doesn't feel like anyone on the design team enjoys Affliction; they don't seem to know what to do with it.
One of them had to be best... affliction is in a good place. Change the tree so you can still get dread touch with the big seed damage talent, buff the spec a bit and it's golden. It's genuinely fun in ST, low target cleave, spread cleave and AoE, just a couple too many compromises.
@@Drakshl It's not really in a good place though. Many aff locks dislike how many dots you have to actively keep up to make sure malefic rapture does good dmg in ST. They should make it so malefic rapture only benefits from 3 dots similar to the Oblivion pvp talent, or remove the spell altogether and bring back Legion design.

They have to rework the talent tree a lot in TWW. For Example: if you want to play Soul harvester as AFF you need to pick Soul Rot and Haunt which takes away a lot of build variety if they stay like they are in the Talent tree. They need to give us some more baseline stuff instead of normal Spells into the talent tree.
so i have an old school mindset when it comes to destro. its not a dot class. its not a pet class. to me its like the fallen fire mage that was seeking more power designed to hit hard and blow up your enemy. Get rid of the pets, bring back grim sac. you dont need the pet, kill the pet to further empower yourself. that is more of a destro theme to me. the infernal works because it does just that, it empowers your chaos bolts. none of these hero talents really flows with what destro is, or atleast what it used to be.
diabolist is the perfect mix of both demo and destro. You get a few demons that spawn(that arent even pets exept for the fire thing) - demo & the demons empower your "basic spells" to heavy hit spells like chaosbolt - destro

Changing class/spec trees, lowering friction between st and aoe for aff, getting rid of rapture in favor of UA, replacing pyrogenics with cataclysm, change netherportal to a actually fun cd and make it a choice node with tyrant, get rid doom or make it actually interesting, give destro some mobility etc etc. Hero talents already seem awesome (although none of the destro ones appears to really fit destro fantasy sadly) so lets keep the hopium flowing guys :D Edit: Well...that was way faster than i expected, but im not going to complain. Why would you want rapture gone. It gives you a natural divide in spenders between St and cleave vs aoe, let's you always do a little cleave even on stacked targets, let's you do some direct damage for where that's needed, rewards you for getting your dots up and gives you some differentiation from shadow priest.
Simply put: It doesnt feel quite right to me. How would UA as a single target spender be less divise? The assumption für rapture gone would be, that your dots become the source of your actual dmg again. As a dot class, you inherently cleave, when your dots are up on multiple targets. Right now they only feel like an enabler for rapture, which is not, what i would want from aff. The dots should be rewarding in dealing dmg themself instead of being but a means for your spender imo.
@trojara2287 if you've ever looked at your damage breakdown, your dots DO do a lot of damage, they just don't do all of your damage, which I am absolutely fine with. Having the ability to press a button that just does damage has utility. I'm just not interested in having a knock off version of devouring plague when rapture is so much cooler design
@@Drakshl Nah. DoTs should do the vast majority as they did in Legion. If you want AoE, Seed of Corruption already does that and much better than Rapture. Rapture also encourages getting every DoT ability on the tree which leads to massive button bloat, I don't think people like having to put up Siphon Life on top of all the other stuff we have, it's just too much.

Man, Diabolist really is the essence of a Warlock, or at least the essence of a Demonologist. So many demon friends, casts look neat, the pets look neat. Wish Infernal Bolt was a little more than just a green Shadowbolt, but like that's such a small "problem" and it's alpha.
I was pretty downer on hero talents in general but it seems like they will work pretty well, impactful but not so much as borrowed power like legion or bfa. I'm excited to see where they go from here or how they build upon them in the next expacs!

Ruination is a very awesome ability, it's what I always wanted Hand of Gul'dan to be - a hard hitting meteor. I know fire mage already has that, but I don't wanna play mage. Really hoping that it will do devastatingly high damage on Destro as it is coming from Chaos Bolt and hopefully has all the modifiers working. Imagine if the PvP talent that turns Havoc into an AoE that affects everyone will allow you to send multiple Ruinations all over a BG, raining meteors on everyone at once. Hyped. Edit: 10:52 his Ruination hit for 702k. Obviously these numbers aren't final, but yeah, I hope it does something like that. I want a Glacial Spike tier Ruination.
Observation: Diabolic ritual counts the time you are in Demonic Art towards the next ritual so long as you summon the demon with Demonic Art. When Demonic Art goes off with 17 sec left, the next Diabolic Ritual starts at 16 sec. You get no duration reduction from the shards spent to start the ritual or summon the demon, but you lose no time from the time it takes to summon the demon. Hopefully this is intended and goes live cause it is the best way for this ability to be a constant churning of demons with zero dead time in ritual progress. Also it looks sick, can't wait for the finished pit lord visuals.
dude diabolist does seem fantastic. I see it being top pick just from watching it. ULTIMATE DEMO fantasy epic. Lots of animations and minions spawning :D I have to almost play this. Noted I also like this for destruction because part of my lock fantasy I never enjoyed Destro as much. It felt like a dark fire mage. Seeing those demons pop with all the fire/chaos magic is fun. The hellcaller afflict looks really good to. damn this is all way cooler then I had imagined.

Your opinion on destro is very limited and sounds like you only played destro in the last few years. It literally has rain of fire, and infernal. It's always had dots. Immolate has always been a singular powerful dot that ramps your st.
They need to increase the visualization time and maybe spread out its damage to balance because I wanna see that stuff out longer then 4 seconds tbh, Also hoping for a toggle to be able to see others animations of this nature for those pcs that can handle it.
To me it seems like they planned reworks to the specs by the look of the hero talents? Cause for affliction a hero talent is basically forcing u to take Haunt right and also the glowing animation of MR is the same when u get a crescendo proc which is kinda weird. And also Seed is not mentioned in any of the trees which is weird cause its your spender basically. Btw does the anathema dot scales with MR?

So on paper Diablolist is Demo only, but practically it fits both specs. That is actually really nice to see. Frankly I think they need to add a toggle so that people can choose to see these demons. Open world and raids for events. a bad idea, turn it off. but in raids I think it would be really fun to see.

They fucked up hellcaller and I'm kinda disappointed that this guy didn't mention that, it doesn't fit destruction at all and the visual effect is not there feels very underwhelming, they are marketting the whole fcking class fantasy shit and they give hellcaller a fucking dot that is not even visible on the target...
let's not crucify them for no spell visuals in an ALPHA lol. I agree tho neither hero talents really FIT destruction's theme but the whole point is blending two different playstyles so core class flavor is going to get muddied.

This honestly just doubles down on the Destro fantasy not being catered to at all. It looks like 2 Affliction additions and a Demonology addition, not a thing flavored for Destro. Destruction is about the WARLOCKS power, the person himself. Not the demons. Literally just look at the art for each of the specs, its pretty clear. See that elf going ham? THATS Destro.
I haven't played retail since shadowlands.. I came back last month and I've played a lil of SOD which is kinda boring IMO and now I'm goofing off in wrath but I'm skeptical about coming back to retail.
I'm so disappointed that MR is still in the game... Another expansion where I can't play AFF... As a long time AFF fan really sad to see Blizzard not listening to all the calls on the forums.
@@cd2194 Are the alternatives better? You are going to have less dots, you are going to have dots that hit like a wet noodle or you won't be able to put dots on multiple things. If they give Aff long dots that still do damage, stuff like council fights Aff would be completely broken if you could put 5 dots on everything and let them tick.

Which is funny because the blueprint to the perfect version of affliction was drawn in MoP.

Diabolist reminds me a lot of the re-work for Summoner in FF14, which was definitely the fun caster specc in the game imo.

My main disappointment is that Hellcaller doesn't apply to the shadowflame effect to more of your spells.

This honestly just doubles down on the Destro fantasy not being catered to at all. It looks like 2 Affliction additions and a Demonology addition, not a thing flavored for Destro. Destruction is about the WARLOCKS power, the person himself. Not the demons. Literally just look at the art for each of the specs, its pretty clear. See that elf going ham? THATS Destro.
At what point is it just a fire mage?

@@cd2194 Are the alternatives better? You are going to have less dots, you are going to have dots that hit like a wet noodle or you won't be able to put dots on multiple things. If they give Aff long dots that still do damage, stuff like council fights Aff would be completely broken if you could put 5 dots on everything and let them tick.

And the playpattern makes it even more reliant on rng ss gain compared to demo and destro
