Looks like a 2023 car with a 2000’s body kit. Some how I like it probably because it reminds me of the good old Need for Speed days from when I was a kid. If I had the money for one there’s no way I would buy the base m2 lmao.

You don't like it? I was expecting it to have the giant grille like the M4, so there's that at least. It does more than the slight touch of Dodge Neon SRT with the squared-off grilles, but maybe it will grow on people. 🙂

Everyone seems to think BMW designers are stupid when in reality they design a certain way on purpose. The controversial 4 series everyone said was designed by retards? Best selling in its class. M3 and M4 they said it was awful and “BMW lost it’s good designers”? Best selling in their class. They do it on purpose cause they will sell better. And this M2 will be the same.

You are absolutely right about the Dashboard screen. Prefer the simple to use analog dials and physical buttons for the infotainment interface.
YEP...Just like why I have the prior model '19 2 series....although...sure wouldn't "mind" a new M2. As Joe Walsh would say, "I'm an analog man in a digital world" !

I'm emotionally weirded out by this car. I would have agreed with you when it first released, but now it has grown on me, especially when you go for an all black configuration I think it makes this rather small car look pretty menacing.

Shaking my head in disappointment. This car had the most beautiful analog gauges, which I guess BMW could fix bringing them back digitally. I feel the same about electric seat controls, manual controls are much faster, lighter and more reliable. I was hoping it wouldn't look like an M240i, but those headlights and tail lights... sigh. I was really looking forward to the new M2 because the powertrain and driving dynamics are brilliant, but so much went wrong with this new version. Touch screen HVAC controls? One of the biggest gripes from owners of the new Mk8 Golf R. I guess I'm with you on "maybe I'm just a dinosaur."
You hit the nail at 13:33 with the comment regarding the dashboard. I also do not understand why they did not have kept the old dashboard in the M2/M3/M4.
The last generation of Honda Civic had to learn the lesson of removing physical buttons with a screen when their customers went to other brands. I do not understand this infatuation but if they're going to make the dash an LED panel, at least make it tasteful, like the 2021 M3/M4. Mercedes does the same thing on their models and it looks so out of place.

As someone who recently sold their beloved 2021 M2 Competition, I would have loved the adaptive suspension. Yes, it was a killer ride, but also killed my back too! Having said that, the absence of the analog speedometer/rmp is a bummer. Nice overall redesign!

Why does this channel insist on rabbiting on about vinyl/ Pleather seats (I refuse to call it vegan leather) it’s vinyl!! Surely no one wants to buy a luxury car such as a BMW with plastic material on the seats. Why do we have to politicise something as simple as a car review. In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination.

Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex or Desertex or Miriam). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. By ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) %. So it is the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette, even in ventilated options.

Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
I actually like the look of this car. Given all of the other garbage that has come out of bmw lately, this seems simple and pure. Those screens on the interior though are terrible. Who’s asking for this? How is this safer? Nobody wants to learn how to use this. Stop!
This is a step back to the right track for BMWs design. Although i dont like the screens, BMW used to integrade their screens to the dashboard way better.

I think you should be able to configure this car with a 360 degrees camera, only having a rear view camera in this day and age seems outdated for a car with that much technology built in.

It looks good overall and a million times better than the hideous M4. I do wish they didn't put the dumb Ipad screen for the gauges, it would have been nice to have the classic analog gauges that are timeless.
They are blowing it like Porsche 911. Adding power but with extra weight and size. But thats BMW. They make a 2 1/2 ton car and put an M badge on it. 🤪 Ill take the brilliant old M2.
