Thank you HoYoverse for this collaboration!! Honkai music is one of the main things that drew me to the franchise, and watching it all come to life so vividly in gorgeous AR and live music is jaw-dropping even for a newbie like me. So excited to experience all the story I still have ahead!

For me it was TruE. It had that "one last push to our end" vibe to it that really hits hard knowing the fates the Flamechasers had.
Regression is THE definition of a sucker punch. And when you see the whole story leading up to it, be sure to have tissues.

just in case, you didn't know or no one has told you yet. In the pv of Regression, the reason why we only see Kallen's smile and not her full face is because that is what Otto only remembers. It has been so long that he forgot what Kallen truly looked like and would only remember her smile. His feelings for Kallen never changed over the course of 500 years and everything he setup and did was all so that she can live

I hope you go through the entirety of Honkai's story and get the full experience! I know my word might not hold a lot of weight but trust me when I say this: Honkai Impact's story does not waste your time.
Especially if you also take the time to read all the extra stuff outside the game, like the manga and visual novels! Those actually add a lot to the story and give a lot of context for in-game story events!
I hope we can watch you go through more of the story, and maybe even go through the manga and VNs in the future! I'll look forward to it if you do!
@@user-ix7ds1nb6z Up for the manga part! The story hits triple the effect knowing all the context. They said that in the latest update, there are links to the manga in the main storyline? (Idk because i've uninstalled the game jist before that update dropped due to storage issues)

What is think is really cool is that the entire scenery in TruE is VR. Even what the singer is standing on is tracked VR, and the actual backgrounfd is a massive LED Screen i think. Its amazing how real they made it look, also the song SLAPS

Mihoyo invites the top Chinese singers to sing the theme song（24:19), such as Charlie Zhou, Tanya Chua, Huang Xiaoyun, Ayanga……they also have Arai Soichiro as their music director. I believe everyone who watches C-drama has heard of one or two of them. It's like there is a US mobile game company that invites Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Lin-Manuel Miranda for performance and Dr. Dre for music director. Mihoyo really put a lot of effort into their music.

I loved one big thing about the concert reaction is how Ying was just vibing hard and trying to figure stuff out while chat and Braxaphone were just dying inside bit by bit.
I love how brax was just here to suffer along with us the veteran players

Indeed, Honkai is not afraid to introduce morally gray and fcked up characters. They don’t want you to sympathize but lets you see them as humans with raw feelings, past experiences, goals, and principles, no matter how different those are from yours. They ***humanise characters by making them undergo challenges that peel who they are, expose them, then change them in certain ways.

20:16 Oracle shows the singer as Wink XY, however this is just her nickname and her real name is Huang XiaoYun (Chinese 黄霄雲), her other English songs include "Sad Sometimes", and "Wish You Were Here". She also covered "All By Myself" beautifully when she was 16 years old on Sing China 2015.
That one time I was driving my car, just starting to show the first signs of Corona, my throat just that little bit ticklish, and then Rubia comes on and I have to sing along to it even though parts of it are a touch too high for me (and then I have to restart the song once it's over simply because it is too good). Needless to say my voice was useless for weeks afterwards. My students did not appreciate me having to whisper once I was back in school, but I would do it again any day. You can't not sing along to it.
Already seen the steam but it was nice to re-experience the beautiful music with Ying again. Can't wait for your next honkai related stream.

The Moonhalo part, that was real in game event but at that time, nobody knows what it was for. Who knew it would be for the concert? Very 5head
Himeko was the instructor who told them that when a Valkyrie becomes corrupted, they must be immediately killed to stop things from getting worse. She was given the "spear of destiny" to save herself from Honkai corruption after using the Vermillion Knight: Eclipse suit to stop Kiana/HoV. Instead, she went against the lessons she taught Kiana in order to save Kiana's life, while burning away what was left of her own. A true final lesson.
y'all i don't even go here (play honkai), but by the time we got to regression, i was covered in goosebumps

Don't worry. The music will hit even harder when you know what's connected to it. You'll have scenes in your mind for every word they sing. Of all the game soundtracks i've listened to and all the games i've played in my life, Honkai Impact is the one i'll never forget.

I've watched this concert for at least 5 times now, and i still freakin sob everytime lol i remember playing the concert in the background while doing my emails and there was a point where i subconsciously teared up 😂 Being a captain for 4 years, i am at the point of no return in terms of attachment.

The music is really beautiful. I’m a sucker of classic music, and even with a singer, the music sounds so rich.
The only thing I know about Honkai is the gist of the story up to Himeko & all the more well-known Honkai animated cut scenes so...... GURL I FEEL YOU I CRIED SO HARD TOO AND I HAVENT EVEN BEEN GIVEN THE TIME TO GET ATTACHED TO THESE CHARACTERS YET. *I AM IN MORTAL DANGER WHEN I DO START.* 😭😭😭

Honkai Impact has such good story telling and the use of music amplifies it to another level. It's absolutely incredible how I can remember every cutscene the songs belong to even if I didnt know the name of the song and get so emotion at just the music alone. *SPOILER AFTER THIS POINT*
The song that plays during the confrontation between Himeko and the Herrscher of the Void is really emotional for me because I had decided right before that happened that Himeko was my favorite character and I bawled when she instead of killing the Herrscher and saving herself decided to give Kiana another chance. I can never remember the name of the song, but it always makes me tear up

Oh Ying your poor soul when you play chapter 9
I was holding up pretty well but once TruE began I immediately started crying my eyes out. I feel like I let out an entire ocean from my eyes. This is what Hoyoverse’s music is capable of and I’m so glad we get amazing music for two amazing games.
I got recommended this after watching the original concert and it was pretty fun to watch both of your experiences with the performances, I hope you continue to enjoy Honkai!
In the last bit you mentioned a video essay about Genshin where it described it as idyllic and I believe you were talking about "A Serious Critique of Genshin Impact" by NeverKnowsBest? I watched it a long time ago and it was also a great watch but I don't often watch stuff like that so it came to mind immediately lol

the funny thing is I knew the chorus on moon halo was coming (kind of? I was one of the people in it and figured it had to be something along those lines) and it didn't soften the impact at all :')
it's one of those songs that will make me start crying if I think about the lyrics too much while singing it so THAT'S FUN, THANKS HONKAI (same goes for true and regression especially)

@@kyuzairen5383 very possible as well but they dont actually try to get the singers for the songs to perform their songs all the time and they would get alternate singers as well! rubia in starfire sonorant is sang by a choir :) although iirc nightglow was still sang by tanya chua although it had a slightly different arrangement
Like I’ve been saying, Nightglow and Rubia didn’t have vocals because Hoyo knew that, if they did, no one would survive till the end.

I understand your pain about not being able to cover some songs in their original key. :( I'm a baritone-bass and I try so hard to be a baritone or tenor, I'm working on using my mixed voice in songs, but I still have to change the key in some of my favorite songs.
