On October 4, 1997, my colon ruptured. It caused sepsis. Which caused my lungs to stop. Which caused my loss of oxygen. Which caused a stroke on my 21st birthday. Which caused 12 seizures. All this happened while in a 4 1/2 day coma. The doctors gave me a less than 1% chance to live. They even told my family to say their good-byes now and when they got home to go ahead and make funeral plans. See, they used everything they had to save me but they couldn't. They gave me up to die. There were other times I was supposed to have died as well. It was the prayers of several churches that saved me. God heard their prayers and here I am today. Healed and still kicking. So, no smart aleck, closed minded non believer will ever convince me that there is no God. And, mocking me only shows what kind of person the mocker is. And, it's not good. These people put too much faith in doctors and scientists. Well, my doctors were certain I was going to die. And scientists are wrong a lot as well. The Godfather of Soul! He was such a talent! He was not always appreciated as he should've been in his hometown, compared to abroad or other cities in the U.S., but he always gave back and really reached out to the children in the area telling them to stay in school and follow their dreams. He had his faults (don't we all?), but he was a very kind and giving human being, even to me and my classmates for a project. More ppl should've known that side of the great James Brown!!
