I am Canadian and we're feeling the pain of the times up here also. I was a drug addict from the age of 12, for half of my life until I came to know the Lord at 24, and I feel Oliver's pain, for I went through a lot myself, having lost many friends far too early - many before they were out of their teens. I now preach the gospel of Christ in Toronto and use YT channel to further spread the Word. Oliver has a special talent and those who know the Lord need to pray for his preservation. God's peace and love to you and your subscribers.

Before He died, Christ said, "Tetelestai" (ie. finished or paid in full). God is so pleased in His Son dealing with our sins and failures on the cross, that He raised Him from the dead. Whenever I sense my own unworthiness, I ask myself, "How many of my sins were future sins when Christ died?" Thank God they all were and because He paid the debt, I as a believer, can have 100% assurance that they are all gone - and you can too!

The beauty of Oliver's music is that with genius simplicity he makes you think and makes you feel. He says so much with so little. He writes a book in a 3 minute song. I've heard dozens of reactions. He is helping people to think and have conversations that they would not have.

He turned down an $8 million record deal because that's exactly what he's singing about being the kind of stuff that hurts regular people.
Dismissing the money and commercialism that has left most of us behind, while just making things for money and leaving out the soul, that's what he's singing about.
I love seeing all the people from different races and backgrounds coming together over his music. We are far more alike than we are different, and we can't forget that. He has done so much to remind us that we're all brothers and sisters under the Lord.
We need to unite and take this world back. Our govt can send hundreds of billions of dollars to fight a new war in the blink of an eye, but they won't lift a finger for all of the folks struggling and fighting the same fight.
It's beautiful, and it's amazing to see a country boy on a guitar having galvanized and united so many of us. He's brought so many folks together.

This song hits different. I feel the lamentations deeply. Despite coming from a deeply Christian home, I rebelled against the faith looking for happiness in the world but my Dear Jesus kept me close whilst I was in the wilderness. Took my Father's death to wake me up. I prayed for the 1st time in 11 years the night he went home and ever since my pain has been lifted and my joy has been fulfilled. Got a great wife (She's gone home too) and wonderful kids. What more can an old man like me hope for. A former addict, high school drop out, bandit and an all round sleezy person. As soon as I embraced my Father in faith my life turned around completely now I'm a retired Psychologist, got my degree at 38 years old and was the oldest in my class 😅. I'm in my 70s but I still run a thriving business after retirement, nothing is impossible when you believe and put your hand on the plow to work.
Your true beginning is the day you let your old self die and allow God reshape your will and destiny.
I'm Glad Half and Jai have taken up their cross to follow Jesus. No pleasure in the world is greater than the love of God. Remain blessed people ❤
I'm with you. I grew up religious then moved away from it for a bit. It was the wrong move but it helped me grow an appreciation and understand it better. I spend my free time doing the same. People need to get back to whatever way makes them right with themselves and self reflection.

Half that Bible quote at the end of the video was Mark 8:36 and what Chris is doing is sharing his own struggles in life with other people and you can hear his genuineness in his songs which is connecting with so many people right now.
