I was not in the cheeriest of moods when I woke up, so I decided to go spend some time in the garden to perk myself up! And it worked beautifully. I was able to do another big harvest from the garden and enjoy some time with my beautiful dairy cows. I hope you enjoy coming along with me. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Your confession about pots and baskets is the same for me!!! My father in law bought an automatic water timer with drip for the hanging baskets for me and it helped until I left it out for the winter 🥶. I say that I’m a lazy gardener who lets God do the hard work of keeping in ground plants alive.

Lemon cucumbers have a very thin skin. Just wash the cucumber and the prickly part comes right off and you can Eat them like an apple. Pick them when they are light green and the seeds are tiny. If you let them start to turn yellow like the lemon they are named for they get large seeds and are tougher in my opinion. Enjoy!

I don't know how you do so much! I have no kids at home now, but between canning two types of pickles, eggplant caponata, and blueberry syrup (not counting all the gardening, harvesting, freezing, etc) and making dog food for my Great Pyrenees, I am working myself into exhaustion! Makes you start to look forward to winter, which I don't want because up here it lasts 6 months! I haven't even touched the freeze-dryer yet.
