Fun fact: the straight track right after the first drop used to be a low to the ground speedhill, which the park removed after around 2 weeks of operation because it was far too intense. The ride is like a mini magnum with its quirks, profiling, and problems, just far less documented since magnum was far more groundbreaking.
Each year for like 6 years my friends and I would go to valley fair multiple times a year. This coaster is at the very back of the park sitting there lonely and forgotten about, And doesn’t get much attention. It indeed might be janky but I will say with all the greenery back there, it is quite peaceful, and is a pretty relaxing coaster in a way. Especially after going through all of the more intense coasters and rides before it. This coaster here will always have a special place in my heart and will honestly miss it if they ever take it down.
Yeah, like trying to break my neck and bruise me like I was beaten up by a mma pro🤕 I’d only ride this for the credit, no more than the one time. The transitions on this look awful 😰👎👎!
My Christmas wish. Simple to ride a coaster with you awesome people. That’s all. My choice to ride with you is Steel Force at Dorny Park. My first and most memorable coaster experience. I do believe in miracles. ❤
I was going to make a joke about how "you say that like jank isn't the norm for Arrow", but then I was given a quick reminder that this was Arrow's attempt at a hybrid coaster and realized that calling it a "janky arrow coaster" is actually a very accurate description.
Even though Valleyfair! is more likely to get a Wild Moose to replace its under-capacity Wild Mouse, a family RMC with a similar layout and none of the jankiness would be fantastic for the park.
Its funny, but every year for over a decade we kept hearing that Excaliber was "on its way out", and "this is its last year for sure guys"... and yet its still here in 2024. I like the idea of a Wild Moose replacing Mad Mouse, even though there are certain open plots of land they could fit one, but I honestly think the next coaster will be a B&M Invert at the front of the park. Until that happens, Excalibur will probably still be here for the foreseeable future... because why not?
These arrows make me cringe at how rough they look. Getting into my 30s now and these coasters give me a headache the rest of the day. RMC truly saved the coaster industry with their consistantely smooth rides.
The track on the first turn looks a lot like Road Runner Express (Fiesta Texas) and Tennessee Tornado's track, both designed by Alan Schilke Could this first turn also be Schilke's work?
@@johntruitt6944 yeah I just realized they have totally different layouts. One of my greatest credits was getting to ride XLR8 before they closed the park! I never got to ride greased lightning because I was scared of loops as a kid, so one of the credits I’m after is riding a Schwarzkopf shuttle loop!

also this ride is far better than magnum
@@coastingalongLIES

There is an older POV on RUclips from 1999, that shows how janky that first turnaround looked, before it got retracked!
Thanks for the info!!!!!!!
wow, that is one of the roller coasters of all time
Holy cow. Look at this thing. I love, love coasters like this; obscure weirdo janky coasters are the best.
"Full of personality" Always loved that term 😁
Typical Ron Toomer transitions I love it 😍
That classic Arrow anti rollback noise though ❤
I can definitely see this better than your average mine train, they just toned it up but it's a cool concept even though it's so old.
Excalibur is really fun and actually has some good forceful moments!

@@SwiftTelly20 aw no that's just her character 🤣 got that old arrow sense of style. Short and sweet and there's far rougher out there imo
@@SwiftTelly20 i didnt even know this coaster existed and watched the video and knew right away that it hurt to ride it lol
Yes many forces that are extremely quick and change direction at an uncomfortable rate.
As long as you sit on the right side of the train. And not on the back of the car. It's not that bad.

Totally love this ride! Janky but so much fun (and rare).
The Arrow Gods are pleased with your choice of upload.
That thing looks weird & amazing

I love how it's just a Mega Lite but Arrow

I love your videos
It’s a great ride, too bad it’s so short
Hmmm I wonder if you could RMC a steel coaster…
might be possible honestly, that would be amazing, excalibur is such a good ride on its own but it being an rmc would be out of this world
Looks like a fun ride!
its built like a wooden coaster
I wish Gemini was more like this
Gemini is better than this lol
@@jrax1713 lmao
You like uncomfortable rides?
why is the beginning of the layout just a mini millennium force?
Medieval Mega Lite
If this was modern and made by someone else, would probably be a really fun short ride
Such a weird coaster. It looks like something someone would build in their backyard.
I'm glad it wasn't super wooded like the 90's. It wasn't stable back then.
The development software was RCT.

I remember hearing Morgan did it around the same time they built Wild Thing
They could rmc this and vally fair could have a new flagship coaster. It is already set up to acceot new steel track.
The drop looks trimmed to death
Magnum XL 100
Magnum XheLL 100
Is this the same one that used to be at Astroworld?
The one at Astroworld was built in 1972 and stayed there until 1999. They're two different coasters.

very cool but pain full
Why is this ride still there?
Cause it's fun
janky is right
It’s like a miniature millennium force lol
They could have built a little roller coaster with all that steel.
What
This looks like an early attempt at a modern intamin.

it was built in 1989
so no

Who knows
It should have been removed a decade ago at least.

Oof.
Cedar Fair kept this pile of crap open but tore down the Orient Express at worlds of fun... God I wish they would sell worlds of fun to SeaWorld
They need to leave this coaster alone. Sick of good coasters getting ripped out and replaced with crap watter slides. Watter parks suck.
But this isn’t a good coaster.
Holy crap that looks dreadful to ride.
Wish Valley fair was fun but it’s not. It’s boring af
