Yeah I was watching this and I was like he's damn near getting shut out in the first half haha. That's the way he was though teams would work so hard to shut him down but they would get tired before he would then the big runs started coming.
That's how The Bus always ran. He wouldn't have a great average in the first half but the more carries you gave him, the more he'd start to run all over the defense. Wear em down by the 4th.
Alex Mishka Zeke was a better college running back than Adrian Peterson, and I'm also an OU fan. Only time will tell whether Elliott will be on that level. But Zeke was amazing in 2016.
smithfan22 Have you seen the way Zeke runs though? Hes a good RB for sure, but very line dependent. Im sure coaches love him because he is a textbook RB, fast, hits the hole and goes, doesnt make moves or too many cuts or anything like that, but thats the thing, hes extremely overrated and will never have the physical ability that AP had
And he didn't have a QB to take the pressure off. The SD D was focused solely on stopping AP and still couldn't. That definitely wasn't John Elway handing the ball off.
Lol did yall read the title of the video? They’re showing every rush he had from that game. That means you show every touch whether be 50 yards or -50. This ain’t a highlight reel, it’s just AP’s full game
Thank you for showing every carry, even the tackles for loss. Some fans think if you’re struggling at first running, that you give up the run but they don’t realize the fatigue a power back like Peterson causes on the D. As someone posted already, he had 200+ yards in the second half after wearing down the D. Don’t give up, keep pushing and your obstacles will wear down.
The burst, power, ability to cut on a dime, the way he sledgehammered the hole, and in his prime the top end speed to take it all the way! What an amazing, unique, all time great football player AD is! 1st ballot Hall of Famer!💯 And a NFL Legend. #alwaysaviking #AllDay #28
Completely and just so you know he averaged 6.0 yards per carry for the ENTIRE SEASON in 2012 when he nearly broke the all time single season rushing record. Ap was different
And relentlessness. He always fought for more yards, they both had that will to carry not just the rock but the team. You don't see RBs take over games like AP did these days.
I’ve always been a bigger fan of the players rather than teams, never felt allegiance to one or the other. Adrian Peterson was and always will be one of my all time favorite players in history, watching him play was just pure amazement
Couple other players I'd throw in there; Bo Jackson albeit short career would have been the greatest speed/power combo, Ladainian Thomlinson (my personal fav), Terrell Davis again short career though. All could run through or around you and all were great in their own way.
I love your comment. However...unless you add agility to that combination of speed & power...I will have to disagree with you. Because if we're just simply talking power n speed...it's Bo Jackson
Imagine that this is what it looked like to watch jim brown…every single Sunday for a decade. AP was so special. We still haven’t seen a performance like this one since. King Henry did something resemblant but not quite the same. This man single handedly worn down an entire great defense.
Adrian Peterson is the best running back of all time anybody thinks that it’s number 22 of Dallas is sadly mistaken. He has the best offensive line of all time.
Stop comparing Zeke to AP. Zeke's sorry ass shouldn't even be in the same sentence. AP was destroying defenses with an average line. Put Zeke on another team he wouldn't rush over 900. Freaking Darren McFadden rushed over 1k on the cowboys. Product of the system.
His speed was incredible it made everyone look slow. And he was so strong 6”2 230 like holy hell. No wonder at 35 he’s still running like a corner because at 25 he was the fastest guy on the field at all times
Rome Dep If Adrian Peterson had a Actual good QB during his prime years with the Vikings that would of taken a lot of pressure off him because Vikings didn't have QB's so they always stacked the box. So it does make sense actually
Skylor Kistler imagine (as a Vikings fan) had he been srafted by a team like the Patriots, Steelers, or maybe I dunno the Cowboys, could you imagine how ridiculous this guy would be? He would be guaranteed at least an MVP every other year lol.
The most fun I had watching AP in his '07 rookie year since Randy Moss in '98. The Monday night game where AP and Brooks Bollinger collided in the backfield on the handoff, I thought they would lose yardage. But in the blink of an eye AP was in the end zone for the TD!! Amazing football player.
People also don't realize how good the linebackers were not just in the NFC north but the league at that time. Almost every squad had a dawg for a MLB and some had awesome OLB help. Briggs and Urlacher, AJ Hawk, Clay Matthews a bit later, Lions had Ernie Sims who was a dog, Patrick Willis, Lofa Tatupu, Ray Lewis, London Fletcher, Vilma, Jon Beason sideline to sideline sure tackle machines were abundant.
God that game was epic, I skipped the whole afternoon of deer hunting that day because I couldn't stop watching Adrian lol.. And JIMMY KLEINSASSER! BEST FB EVER! WE WILL NOT FORGET!
His burst as incredible he’s not just very big and strong but he was insanely fast he made the rest of the defense look like there in slow motion It looks video game like
in high school I broke 5 school rushing records. one game 5 rushing tds. single season 1556 yards rushing and 25 rushing Tds. career 3050 yards rushing and 49 rushing tds. all thanks to players like Adrian Peterson who I looked up to since he was a freshman at Oklahoma thanks
I wonder why so many people are saying 'ap>zeke' i mean everybody knows that so even if ur iq is the same as the iq of a rock you don't need to say that
He could of had over 300 yards if he wasn't horse collar tackled. This is his ROOKIE SEASON! On of the greats. Only needs 300 more yards to be in the top 10 rushing yards of all time
This dude had the ball in his hands for 2 minutes and 15 seconds in the game. That may not seem like a lot but the average nfl play is around 4 seconds so to have the ball in your hands in play that much is insane
Can we just agree Peterson is the most gifted power back we will ever see. I love watching King Henry, but Peterson had it all: speed, elusiveness, power and the meanest sidestep you’ll ever see.
Who should we do next? Leave your comment below and watch next week to see if your comment made it!

Alex Mishka Zeke got a great o line ap got a trash o line yet he makes better plays than Zeke
Alex Mishka Zeke running style is similar to Peterson, just not as hype
This is even more amazing when you realize he got virtually all of his rushing yards in the second half.
Off of 16 carries lol. 250 yards on 16 carries
And he didn't have a QB to take the pressure off. The SD D was focused solely on stopping AP and still couldn't. That definitely wasn't John Elway handing the ball off.
He really broke the record for most rushing yards in a game during his rookie year lol

Basically all in the second half too lol

He didn’t have 300 you idiot
He was definitely going to the house on that horse collar play... AP was a savage 💪🏿
The way he runs is just incredible
this was also the game that Antonio Cromartie had the longest return in NFL history (109 yd missed FG)
