    Alden always has the best stuff, I always say he isn't the cheapest, but if you want quality for your money he is the way to go. Also his prices are fair and you know what you are getting.

    FYI.
    I picked one up from Centerfire systems and it’s in just as nice condition, or perhaps a little better than the one you got from Atlantic firearms, all serial numbers matching small parts to. Came with a bayonet. No ammo. Dealers choice. I was extremely surprised of the condition that I got it in absolutely beautiful Rifle. Thanks for the video.

    Great compression/ between 1937A rifles, supplied by Mosin Crate & Atlantic Firearms .I am busy doing a serial number number research, on 1937A model. Do you have rough, estimate; how many 1937 A were imported over the last, 12 months .Are they ex Portuguese Army surplus ?? Chris .

    • @The_Casual_Collector
      @The_Casual_Collector  Месяц назад

      @christaylor6085 I honestly do not know how many were imported, but I believe CAI imported them all. These were definitely Portuguese contract rifles. I would assume they did indeed come from Portugal. I do know Germany kept back a part the contract (50,000 or so) that were never shipped and Germany used them in WWII. These were obviously unused.

    I just got mine in from centerfire systems and besides the rough bayonet it looks just about like the one you got from mosin crate. Much better than the 937B I got.

      I got one from centerfire as well, the 1150 bundle when it had ammo included. They've changed it now but honored the ammo included, rifle is beautiful with a mirror bore, all matching( stock was just numbered inside). Nothing beats an all matching mauser action from the prewar era

    Unfortunately, I’ve been burned too many times by Atlantic Firearms to purchase anything else from them. I recommend anyone considering making a purchase from them is to ASK QUESTIONS. Also, you can refuse acceptance once it hits your FFL. Had to do this on this go around as it was FAR from as described or the NRA Rating.

      Thanks, Alden rubs a website called "themosincrate". He doesn't have anymore of these, but from time to time sells stuff like these rifles.

    You got the side mounted sling… mine is bottom… both my screws match as well. Do you think the ammo is safe to shoot? I heard sometimes the old stuff is risky to shoot. My cleaning rod and bayonet don’t match. C block bayonet and E block rifle. I thought it was funny my cleaning rod is 98 or is it 86? I like to think 98 for k98 hah. Barrel is so shinny I wonder if it’s ever been shot.. oh and I didn’t see any rust on mine but haven’t examined it too close though

    • @The_Casual_Collector
      @The_Casual_Collector  9 месяцев назад +1

      Very cool, I'm glad you got a really nice rifle! Honestly, I think the ammo is fine as long as the powder still shakes around in it, @8mm Mauser Man did a good video on it. ruclips.net/video/KuhM41mj6qI/видео.htmlsi=yAfHHfH5NN4b75dh
      Just make sure you neutralize the corrosive salts afterward so that bore and bolt stay nice and shiny.

      @@The_Casual_Collector I see… I tried shaking several. Idk can’t tell if there’s anything moving inside lol. They look pretty good from the outside tho. Saw a comment of someone saying he broke his stock using Turk ammo. Hopefully nothing like that happens. I’ll just have to test it out with one of my less collector grade mauser first.

    Thanks for the mention! I should be getting mine soon and do a comparison video with what you got. Looks like the Mosin Crate is nicer condition but I think Atlantic is a better value with the ammo added on.
    They had the same ammo deal with the 1904/39 mausers, hopefully they get some 937B models at Atlantic soon.

I have the Mosin Crate one which is similar to yours, which is in my video, but the lower shipping and included Ammo, makes the Atlantic Firearms one a really good deal. I wanted to order one, but they will not shipped to Illinois which is highly annoying. Terrible state to be living in. Anywho, it seems you paid more? I see it listed for 899$ on there now same package but maybe it’s a worse condition batch. Thanks for the video!

      Yeah that sucks, I have a cousin that lives there unfortunately, so I know what you mean. BTW, that one for $899 is the 1904/39, those are 8mm conversion rifles.

      @Toolness1 9 месяцев назад +2

      That's not a great price but at excellent condition its not unreasonable. They have really gone up in price besides a few deals like the ones that didn't have magazines (which hurts the value a good bit)

      True, and these are basically German K98s with only about 3 differences for the Portuguese contact...however, you'd be hard pressed to find a pristine German K98 in the condition that most of these are in.

      How? Matching german k98's go north of 2000 now on gunbroker. Plus a decent matching scabard/bayonet can be $200+. AND you're getting at least $400-$500 worth of 8mm mauser ammo.
