Parking is hard at that location.

Lower the rents

What a joke. Nothing is coming in replace of the diner, and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves and coping with the reality of the situation, keep inhaling that copium! The truth is, Hawaii has no right to be this expensive. It's expensive because it's out in the middle of nowhere, Pacific Ocean, so everything has to be shipped from long distances, and the land is so small and limited. But it doesn't bring anything to the table, no industry to speak of except tourism, no high-paying jobs to offset the costs, laughable education system, etc.
At least the Bay Area, and LA, have these high-paying jobs and large industry so you can find good paying work that can somewhat justify staying there, and you can send your kids to nice schools in certain areas. In Hawaii, you don't have anything, you'll pay big bucks, struggle to find work, deal with horrible public schools. You will own nothing and you will like it!
Is the verbal tirade over..
