Mr Holder is from a great background, now that I have heard his parents were Barbadian. Many British lived there in the early years, before and after slavery. Kids were raised with a very British background, well spoken and great education. Barbadians are well respected all over the world, especially here in the UK, because of their sense of decency and upbringing.

Love Mr. Holder's afro. In fact, I worked for one of his best friends a few years before he became Attorney General. Mr. Holder is an absolute very good man! My mother's six brothers were the ones who encouraged me to wear the "Fro!" She absolutely hated my afro so I didn't tell her that it was her brothers who started me on my journey into Afrocentric lifestyles. I swapped "pressing" my hair for a shoulder to shoulder Afro (Angela Davis style). I started wearing dashikis, afro headwraps, pucca shell jewelry, big earrings, and totally embraced my Afrocentric culture. I absolutely loved that time of my youth and young adulthood. I then fell in love with the Rasta culture, loved steel drums, Santana. I was criticized for naming one of my daughters Kaya after Bob Marley's song Kaya. My favorite album at that time was Rastaman Vibration. Absolutely loved my youth ❤

From this interview, despite Ari Melber's too frequent interruptions, Mr Holder comes across as a man of vision and integrity, and most of all, one who is still fighting for equal justice for all, rather than living a peaceful retirement. I've got to admire him for that.

Later history indicates that JFK was not perfect, especially in his lack of fidelity, unbecoming a president but behavior that was unfortunately tolerated at that time. However, that JFK quote "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" that needs to be a coffee mug. That needs to be added to the oath of office that every public official takes in every local, state and federal position. It's about the nation, it's not about you. 🗽

Characteristic of the magically functioning person is that he is strong
functions egocentrically: everything is seen from one's own perspective
interpreted, 'considered' and manipulated and conjured. That
someone else (neighbor, classmate, sister) is having a hard time is not the first
care (or even no care): one's own story, one's own suffering, one's own
'chance' rules life. There is none in the little child
group consciousness or vicarious feeling of shame (the small child
is not bothered by all the looks in the supermarket for his sake
screeching). Egocentric functioning means, among other things: 'I want
have the biggest, I want to be the first. Everything has to be done by me
      available.'
The 'big' person with a predominantly magical level of functioning is
also egocentric: primarily taken with his personal,
momentary and short-lived feeling of pleasure or discomfort. The broader
perspective of the group, of the community, of the larger
society and the whole world are of no use to him. And if
he sometimes takes the group into account, then that is on the basis of
'fear' of disaster, of short-term punishment, often oneself
urged or whispered by (magically speaking) authority figures.
But this fear-reducing “ethic” is actually self-centered.

Thank you, Ari, for continuing to bring discussions of race in America out into the open. History will remember you kindly. It is not that you make it all about race; you simply allow the subject. Of course, the touchiness of the subject inevitably results in some awkwardness. But your videos will be the ones future generations look back upon and chuckle because they will not be able to understand just how difficult discussions allowing race were in America. Add to this your whiteness and your willingness to quote the lyrics of black artists with gravity and respect makes you a hero of our times. Thank you, Ari. Comically, I opened up the comment to simply note that Eric Holder's lightning round was the most articulate I have seen so far on your show. I hope he has great success in fighting the incessant redistricting and the underlying Jim Crow-esque worldview of those who perpetuate both.

I am from Ireland. My Dad took me to see JFK when he came to Ireland. The excitement and love for him was amazing. The streets were lined with people. My Dad had me on his shoulders waving flags. For my Dad to do that ...believe me...was a big thing. He was a very quiet man. 50 years later...Donald Trump announces he is coming to Ireland and there were protests EVERYWHERE. The Government were I suppose embarrassed to reject the President of the USA making a visit.....and had to let him come. There were a lot of objections and protests but the people around Trump and probably our own government (out of embarrassment) kept them at arms length so the media did not catch the US President being booed and made unwelcome.....think we all knew he was not fit for the high office of US President then...and nothing has changed. He is a criminal...fraudster etc., etc., PUT HIM IN PRISON...
