Love love love this movie! One great thing about movies released during your childhood. You dont even notice or care when the rest of the world doesn't like your favorite movie!
Me and my childhood friend of mine had some fun with the oddly funny theme of this movie. We would pretend our monster truck toys were lined up to do a drag race, did all the revving and shaking sound effects before the race started. Then said go and moved the trucks so slow and mouthed the tune of the main theme of this movie (ala Clarence Budicker style) We killed ourselves laughing with that stupid gag. The things kids will do in the 80s for a laugh is odd indeed.

Keep up the great work! Thanks for the good entertainment during this pandemic.
I loved that movie when I was a kid. When I was on the playground, me and my friends would recreate scenes from the film. We had a piece of playground equipment that spun similarly to Koras in the famous knife scene and we would act it out.
"Chandler (Eddie Murphy): Say I-I-I-I-I-I-I want the knife.
Old Man: Let him ask again.
Chandler: IIIIII want the knife. Pleaseeee.
That's awesome! Check out my new music video. I try to recreate the whole thing to an original tune I wrote. You'll laugh!
Thank you so much Minty! Wow. Ten thousand views I never knew their names in the movie. I thought it was Numbsy🤣 I still call him Axel. I only remember Dance in this one. The actress, with George Kastanza, accused of throwing up. Thank you. I always loved that little boy. Learning it was played by a woman, made me love him more!
The most stunning exotic beauty that didn't really star in much else. She would be HUGE today.
Damn straight! She was stunningly beautiful!
Charlotte Lewis? Yeah, she was very beautiful back then. Unfortunately, she didn't age well.
@@greecoboost Yeah she's aged badly!
Ok, time for a longer overdue post for Just One Of The Guys. That's another nearly forgotten gem of the 80's!
Agreed,hopefully it gets a video soon,its a great movie.
I really like The Golden Child I thought it was funny and Eddie did a great job
Great review. I didn't realize when I first saw The Golden Child that the biker that Eddie questions was played by Eric Douglas, Michael Douglas' younger brother. When I first saw that scene I thought it was Michael Douglas, then I looked closely and noticed it wasn't. Now I know it was Michal's little brother. Anyway, about The Golden Child, I enjoy this with Beverly Hills Cop and Big Trouble In Little China just as much as those.
I sing the ratt song to my dog when I take her outside 'potty walk let's take a potty walk let's take a potty walk cuz ya hafta pee'
Damn you, I will never not hear that when I listen to that song now.
What anonymous said.....
Still funny though.😁
RATT still Rocks !!
In my humble opinion, the Golden Child was indeed an underrated film. Honestly, I didn't expect you'd ever decide to do a video on it, Minty. Well, I'm glad you did. Also, I don't care what anybody says: Kee Nang was Capcom's Street Fighter's Chun-Li Xiang before Chun-Li Xiang was a thing. ;)
This is one of my personal favorite movies
Check out my music video parody of it...You'll dig it!
As a child, I absolutely loved this movie. Watched it a few months ago and nostalgia was high. Got excited when I saw this on my feed and as always, blew my mind with some of those facts.
80's awesomeness! 🙌
I've always thought it was a great movie and it came out when I was 6! I watch it to this day and I love it. It is one of my favorites and it stands the test of time!
Always thought this was way funnier than Beverly Hills Cop
I have to say, I love this channel. It is great content and it’s fun to see the behind the scenes aspects of our favorite movies. I am a fan
Imagine John Carpenter & Mel Gibson doing any movie in the 80s? That woulda been pretty cool!
Finally! I've been waiting forever for you to post this.
5:12, he would star in Game of Thrones and Godzilla 2: KING OF THE MONSTERS.
Don’t forget “Last Action Hero”
Or Aliens 3. He slept with Ripley.
You need to do one on the movie Nightbreed. Thanks for this one I loved it.
"You don't even know what you're smiling for"
NEPAL !!!!
My all time favorite comedy. My bestfriend and I have the lines memorized. We spent a few weeks in our English class, writing down the lines. We still quote it today.
I had this movie on VHS along with “Maximum Overdrive” I cannot think of one without the other. What a bizarre combination
Great AC/DC soundtrack to Overdrive as well. I bought that CD my first year in college and still have it.
If you like randomness, check out my new music video. I try and recreate the entire movie to one of my tunes!
Have never seen or even heard of this movie until now. It looks rather unique.
Brought this dvd last mouth because it came with a digital copy of Norbit
i thoroughly enjoyed "The Golden Child" back in the day and i still do.
