Zen-Aku is without a doubt, the most awesome villain in Wild Force. A tragic warrior trying to find his identity and his purpose. Respect the lone wolf 🐺.
I even like that scene in the final episode of wild force, where it was revealed that Zen aku became his own being once the curse of the mask was broken, and he teamed up with merrick to go on further adventures ^^
"Wild Zords DESCEND!" Implies that the Wild Zords are heavenly as they come from the Animarium. "Dark Wild Zords ARISE!" implies that the Dark Wild Zords are Hellish or undead and corrupted by the org energy of the Nexus through Zen Aku's spirit.
A lot of people assume that Merrick was good and Zen-Aku was evil. I personally think both were extremely noble, one was just lost until he learned some humanity from the other.
The thing that always gets me is that the theme is a combination of Merrick and Zen-Aku's but that flute music is entirely Zen-Aku. I refuse to believe that anyone capable of creating sure pure music is evil. I really love the unusual things like this in Wild Force. Villains weren't just bad guys, they were real characters with backstories, even if some were more-so just implied. Next to Time Force this will always be my favourite season.
@@baroque4days Characters with back stories are the best even when it comes down to that of a Pure evil character (though he wasn't pure evil) There's always a motive or drive for that character to fight or do things. One of best character tropes I like are characters who are said to be evil and heartless, but soon does something nobil or even honorable like helping the protagonist achieve something good. Or even if said evil character soon See's the error of his ways, and slowly becomes a protagonist himself (more of an anti hero trope maybe).

Undoubtedly WILD FORCE is one of the best powerranger series has ever made during our childhood and as a 90s kid i am very fortunate to experience this kind of masterpiece....Still the soundtracks give me goosebumps...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Dark Predazord, in my eyes, is far more badass than its purified mode. The Dark version has a cooler look, cooler transformation near the end, and a cooler finisher.

Too much time. Did this one a couple years back and the flute stuff probably nearly five years ago. I had one extra part upload on my old channel but that's been lost sadly. I plan on remaking that part next and the other Zen-Aku parts when possible. At the moment, I've lost all interest in watching anything, let alone watching Power Rangers, let alone Wild Force D:
If you're still interested in this, I've been working loads of making a bunch of music from the previous episode Battle of the Zords with the ground battle with Zen-Aku there. I'm about 3 and a half minutes into production. Similar way into part of the score from the final episode of Time Force with more projects planned including making some improvements or just straight up V2 versions of my older remakes. Also, if you ever played the PS1 Time Force game, that soundtrack is getting a stereo remake with the original synthesizer they used. Getting back into this big time. This was the last American power rangers before the New Zealand shift. You can hear it in the music. Up to this point Power Rangers had music that sounded like noble military marching to trumpets. After this it was pure rock starting with Ninja Storm.

Man I know you're unlikely to see this, but this show WAS my childhood. I'm a 25 year old man now and am literally crying due to this kick of nostalgia that you've provided. I remember being a kid and being WOWED by this soundtrack and the Predazord forming. I think I've listened to that beginning orchestral mix for hours and still shed tears constantly. Thank you for your kind words! I just loved him so much as a kid and yeah, when I remade this back in 2017 or whenever it originally was, I was doing the same. Wanted to kind of give people the chance to hear the soundtrack properly. I'm working on some FLAC mixes of it as we speak actually as this is fairly low quality. Still the same instrumentation just a bit more stereo depth and now should be 48KHz and 24bit as opposed to 44.1 and 16bit (CDQ). Was also thinking of making exports of just the strings, brass, winds and Percussion separately so you can listen in to specific parts more available as well. Not sure if that would interest anyone.

Yeah, they're kinda hidden under the speaking, I guess. I pretty much had to listen to every couple of seconds over and over until I got it all. I'd finish and then notice something else XD. I'm glad I finished it before I kinda lost interest. People want me to do loads more but I just ugh XD, wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it. I imagine when I rewatch the series I'll get some inspiration to do some more but yeah, might be a while. Anyway, glad you like it. Feel free to download it with a converter or something just in case I ever lose the channel or something.
Zen-aku is one of my favorite villains of all time. He’s one of the few PR characters that isn’t super cheesy, he’s actually strong, and has an interesting character development.

I like how its actually the regular Wild Zords' theme but gloomy, making the "oh sh*t, he haves his own Zords" situation, not just stolen Zords, (a feeling like Centaurus and Stratoforce Megazords in Lost Galaxy) even worse knowing the Wild Zords are supposed to be benevolent and don't make a creepy face as the Org Predazord does, as how it was almost invincible, beating Elephant, Giraffe, Polar and Black Bear Zords and simply stole them when the Rangers just could watch helpless and impotently how they were also corrupted by Zen-Aku
This reveal was huge back then because it marked the first time that a monster is able to control, pilot, and even combine his mechas into a Robo in the same fashion as our heroes. It's no wonder why Zen Aku and Rouki stood out in their respective series. While Wild Force is my introduction to PR (and sooner Sentai) as a whole, but the Zen Aku arc is my favorite sub plot to this day due to how the story revolves around a Duke Org who somehow have similar power with our heroes and makes us question who he really is.

There's no way to find it, I've had to literally listen to the music and re-write it from scratch based on what I'm hearing. Lior Rosner never released an OST :(

@@androsthewarriorhighalpha I want to do all Merrick and Zen-Aku parts but you know, time and stuff. I get nothing out of it and it takes so longer to work in these projects. Just loading them up takes like 15 minutes. I'm building an extremely over-powered workstation next year which will give me more encouragement to do it or at least less reason not to.
I only every made 3 but yeah I want to do them all just really need the time, my new PC build and a DVD copy of Wild Force to compare what I'm writing to. It's really hard to listen and write music based on that so the higher quality audio, the better. So yeah, some day but it's gonna be a while. Shame they never released the real soundtrack as these things take me months.
Just an update, got more in the works. Something from Time Force about 2 minutes complete out of the total 6 minutes, and made a good start on another theme from Wild Force. The WF one should include some incidental Jindrax/Toxica cue, the Zen-Aku flute, Zen-Aku ground battle theme, the PRWF morph theme. If I extend it, it'll also include the first version of the Dark Wildzords battle theme and Master Org's theme all in one track, though I might separate them out video wise.
I feel like when I get back into the show I might try again but I've kinda lost interest. His first appareance theme is really cool though. I think I lost the original music for it sadly otherwise I would reupload the old one. You didn't download it by chance, did you?
@@madamaklee I had a big look through all my old stuff recently and it is totally gone. Pretty much had all of my music on my old phone and on an old laptop a few years back before I started to consider how valuable it might be. This one here still survives including the project file though due to an update in the sample library I used here, I would have to fix it. The introduction piece is literally gone, as were around about 10 or so of my own pieces, nothing important though. I have finally started to get my edge back in writing music so, that's good. I may well end up writing the music out properly this time so it could easily be read/placed by any players and, of course, backing up a PDF score is a whole lot easier than a huge project. If I do this, I can import it into the software I used to make this and then use whatever instruments I need to make it sound nice though, I basically haven't got any good orchestral libraries as I've kinda come to the conclusion it will always sound bad unless it's played by real people.
Honestly, they're expensive as far as software goes but in terms of orchestral libraries, they're cheap. Main source on this is EastWest Hollywood Orchestra. I think it was about £500 which sounds like a lot but considering Spitfire Audio sell 1/3 of an orchestra for £800, so a full orchestra would be £2,400, £500 is cheap! They are honestly a bit dated in sound now but not bad. The issue with them is that they are "dry" by default and most modern orchestral libraries retain the reverb and resonance created by the room they were recorded in. The percussion was mostly HZ01 which is Hans Zimmer's percussion library with Spitfire Audio. The ending was a flute from Ventus Winds. The Pan Flute at the start was from the Hollywood expansion of reFX Nexus 2 but I think the actual original sound source was the Roland JV-1080 though. Considering Nexus costs a few hundred and you can get a second hand hardware JV-1080 for like £150 in the UK, I'd do that instead! XD

@@j.t.daluva2095 Thanks. It's a shame. I was actually really invested in it back then. I was 15 or so when I started remaking bits of the Zen-Aku music but I think I was 17 when I did this. I planned to do the theme that plays during the battle when they first beat him and split Merrick and him apart. Unfortunately life went really bad for me after making this so I kinda just changed and lost interest. I still make music just hasn't been something I do often in years now. Maybe one day if I can make a living off music I'll have some free time to remake these.

Pretty much the entire score from when they show up to arrest him to his surrender. Definitely a lot harder to do that the Predazord theme but I'm working through it slowly. Wanted to cover Olympius and Bansheera's bits but they share a lot of the same music, sometimes slightly different. If I can work out which is which I'll probably make a bit of a suite out of it.

Man I know you're unlikely to see this, but this show WAS my childhood. I'm a 25 year old man now and am literally crying due to this kick of nostalgia that you've provided. I remember being a kid and being WOWED by this soundtrack and the Predazord forming. I think I've listened to that beginning orchestral mix for hours and still shed tears constantly.

Thank you for your kind words! I just loved him so much as a kid and yeah, when I remade this back in 2017 or whenever it originally was, I was doing the same. Wanted to kind of give people the chance to hear the soundtrack properly.
I'm working on some FLAC mixes of it as we speak actually as this is fairly low quality. Still the same instrumentation just a bit more stereo depth and now should be 48KHz and 24bit as opposed to 44.1 and 16bit (CDQ).
Was also thinking of making exports of just the strings, brass, winds and Percussion separately so you can listen in to specific parts more available as well. Not sure if that would interest anyone.

Yeah, they're kinda hidden under the speaking, I guess. I pretty much had to listen to every couple of seconds over and over until I got it all. I'd finish and then notice something else XD. I'm glad I finished it before I kinda lost interest. People want me to do loads more but I just ugh XD, wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it. I imagine when I rewatch the series I'll get some inspiration to do some more but yeah, might be a while.

I like how its actually the regular Wild Zords' theme but gloomy, making the "oh sh*t, he haves his own Zords" situation, not just stolen Zords, (a feeling like Centaurus and Stratoforce Megazords in Lost Galaxy) even worse knowing the Wild Zords are supposed to be benevolent and don't make a creepy face as the Org Predazord does, as how it was almost invincible, beating Elephant, Giraffe, Polar and Black Bear Zords and simply stole them when the Rangers just could watch helpless and impotently how they were also corrupted by Zen-Aku
This reveal was huge back then because it marked the first time that a monster is able to control, pilot, and even combine his mechas into a Robo in the same fashion as our heroes. It's no wonder why Zen Aku and Rouki stood out in their respective series. While Wild Force is my introduction to PR (and sooner Sentai) as a whole, but the Zen Aku arc is my favorite sub plot to this day due to how the story revolves around a Duke Org who somehow have similar power with our heroes and makes us question who he really is.

There's no way to find it, I've had to literally listen to the music and re-write it from scratch based on what I'm hearing. Lior Rosner never released an OST :(

Just loading them up takes like 15 minutes. I'm building an extremely over-powered workstation next year which will give me more encouragement to do it or at least less reason not to.

I only every made 3 but yeah I want to do them all just really need the time, my new PC build and a DVD copy of Wild Force to compare what I'm writing to. It's really hard to listen and write music based on that so the higher quality audio, the better. So yeah, some day but it's gonna be a while. Shame they never released the real soundtrack as these things take me months.
Just an update, got more in the works. Something from Time Force about 2 minutes complete out of the total 6 minutes, and made a good start on another theme from Wild Force. The WF one should include some incidental Jindrax/Toxica cue, the Zen-Aku flute, Zen-Aku ground battle theme, the PRWF morph theme. If I extend it, it'll also include the first version of the Dark Wildzords battle theme and Master Org's theme all in one track, though I might separate them out video wise.

@@madamaklee I had a big look through all my old stuff recently and it is totally gone. Pretty much had all of my music on my old phone and on an old laptop a few years back before I started to consider how valuable it might be. This one here still survives including the project file though due to an update in the sample library I used here, I would have to fix it.
The introduction piece is literally gone, as were around about 10 or so of my own pieces, nothing important though.
I have finally started to get my edge back in writing music so, that's good. I may well end up writing the music out properly this time so it could easily be read/placed by any players and, of course, backing up a PDF score is a whole lot easier than a huge project.
If I do this, I can import it into the software I used to make this and then use whatever instruments I need to make it sound nice though, I basically haven't got any good orchestral libraries as I've kinda come to the conclusion it will always sound bad unless it's played by real people.

Yeah, it was pretty hard to tell what was SFX and what was music. I think I got it fairly accurate.
How can I get a hold of these programs you used? I feel like you can closely recreate Lior Rosner's score from PRIS to WF.
Honestly, they're expensive as far as software goes but in terms of orchestral libraries, they're cheap. Main source on this is EastWest Hollywood Orchestra. I think it was about £500 which sounds like a lot but considering Spitfire Audio sell 1/3 of an orchestra for £800, so a full orchestra would be £2,400, £500 is cheap! They are honestly a bit dated in sound now but not bad. The issue with them is that they are "dry" by default and most modern orchestral libraries retain the reverb and resonance created by the room they were recorded in. The percussion was mostly HZ01 which is Hans Zimmer's percussion library with Spitfire Audio. The ending was a flute from Ventus Winds. The Pan Flute at the start was from the Hollywood expansion of reFX Nexus 2 but I think the actual original sound source was the Roland JV-1080 though. Considering Nexus costs a few hundred and you can get a second hand hardware JV-1080 for like £150 in the UK, I'd do that instead! XD

And also yeah, I am currently working on the music used during most of the ground battles with Zen-Aku, specifically the variant from Ep. 11 Battle of the Zords, and also the final battle with Ransik from End of Time Part 3 (Time Force). Will also be looking into remaking the Curse of the Wolf cue I uploaded here as that is very dated now and also currently doing a rewatch and taking lots of notes to map out the score of Lightspeed to see if I can figure out which bit of music relates to each demon. Might do one for each demon but for the most part, I want to kind of make a suite for Olympius, so that's something else you can look forward to.

Sadly not. There doesn't seem to be any official release of the soundtracks. I remade this, the Zen-Aku introduction and his flute music back in... 2015? 2016? Something like that and just reuploaded here a few years back.

@@j.t.daluva2095 Thanks. It's a shame. I was actually really invested in it back then. I was 15 or so when I started remaking bits of the Zen-Aku music but I think I was 17 when I did this. I planned to do the theme that plays during the battle when they first beat him and split Merrick and him apart. Unfortunately life went really bad for me after making this so I kinda just changed and lost interest.
I still make music just hasn't been something I do often in years now. Maybe one day if I can make a living off music I'll have some free time to remake these.

Pretty much the entire score from when they show up to arrest him to his surrender. Definitely a lot harder to do that the Predazord theme but I'm working through it slowly. It'll get posted here when it is done . As for Lightspeed, I'm in the process of working out which theme is which. Wanted to cover Olympius and Bansheera's bits but they share a lot of the same music, sometimes slightly different. If I can work out which is which I'll probably make a bit of a suite out of it.

Recreated it all myself from scratch. Currently working on the final battle with Ransik from Time Force and the ground battle with Zen-Aku from EP. 11 (Battle of the Zords). Might actually extend that out and include the Dark Wild Zord scene too from that episode. But yeah I did this years ago, 2017 I think and reuploaded it again here. But yeah, it's all just remade by me so takes a huge amount of work to do. There are others on the channel so, have a look at that.

Hah, 4 years later I finally reply XD Sorry. Yes, yes it is. I've heard a few people ask and I'd like to try for sure. I'm adding it to my tracker list. These projects take a long long time to make, but I've been casually working on 3 big ones, mostly a new bit from Wild Force, one from Time Force and a whole recreation of the OST to the Time Force PS1 soundtrack. But yeah, I'm just going back to let people know I'm back working on this stuff again.
