Hey man, do you shoot in shutter speed priority or manual for night photos like that? I ask that because not all cameras bring good results considering noise/IS
These were actually the type of videos that drew me to your channel, but at the time there weren't as many channels doing it. I think you execute it well. I will say that I kinda miss the challenges. I don't do Instagram, but I'd still enjoy participating even if it's just for me.
throw me some challenge suggestions! Ill try and bring something back, as the channel has grown its become more of a challenge (nice pun ha) but id be down to continue them if I can work it out to be organized!
@@RanftEvan maybe something like restrictions on the number of elements in a photograph, like only 3 noticeable elements to a photograph. You could make it more your style by making it a reduced element challenge but specifically for street photography which I feel would make it really challenging and bring out the best in us. Cheers.
Yeah, mine also seems to think I am nuts for just taking pictures of old buildings. Cars here in Louisiana, strangely, don't seem as inclined so stop as they do in Atlanta.
I really enjoy your night photography videos as it's something I really want to get better at. I know what you mean about seeing others doing a very similar style of videos to yours (I've seen a lot of point of view videos pop up recently) but yours are still the best 👍
im still trying to get better too honestly. night photography is so hard haha I still have some nights where all my photos are trash. appreciate you watching!!
I appreciate you putting out these kind of videos. I've seen other youtubers doing POV camera sessions but I appreciate your over dub giving insight into your processes and what you were going for. Keep up the great work and we'll keep watching.
Found you through another photographer and fellow RUclipsr. I live downtown Atlanta so you are filming in my neighborhood lol! I love filming down here at night as well! We may have crossed paths lol! See you in the next one...
I enjoy these behind the scene videos. I love the chill vibes and the seeing different city scapes. They also make me feel better seeing that I’m not the only one that gets a ton of bad photos😀
Were you saying you weren't motivated to make videos like these? These are great! They're what drew me to your channel. I'm terrible at street photography so I really appreciate these.
Excellent behind the scenes Evan! I always enjoy these kind of videos. You inspired me to start my own youtube channel, so from time to time I make my own behind the scenes videos as well!Appreciate that man!Keep it up!
Hi Evan! Good video and got me thinking how do you set up your Fuji? I got xt30 with 18-55 but not sure how to shoot especially at nights since I am a beginner learning. Any video on that one day maybe or something?
Man I loved this one. I always learn so much by watching. Not really, by seeing the photo itself, but how you look for the shot. Anyways mad love to ya as always, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
Hey man massive fan of your shots, but do you think you would be able to leave the photos that you take on the screen a bit longer so we can get a bit more of a look ? 😊
Hey. You inspired me to go out and do some street photography at night. I froze but it was well worth. I tagged in the photos on Instagram. Thanks for all that you do. Much love ❤️
Great video and photos. I'm in Wroclaw(Poland) now. Need to do the same - go at night to the center of the city and make some photos with my X-Pro1 and 16mm f/1.4. But I'm too lazy for this :D
Yo dude cool shoot, what if you went back to the string looking piece thing and then did like a long exposure thing but like shake the camera a little so that the lights would show beside other lights while the shape of the piece still stays the same cuz its gonna look white?
Like im guessing it would have the same effect or look as light painting or like night out drinking type vibes. Its just so interesting a subject especially with the changing lights, and since me not being from atlanta, I wouldn't be able to take the shot im describibg
There is something I'd to ask you: do you usually use the monitor/LCD on the XH1 for photographing or you use it more because is better to see it on the youtube video?
Evan, what was the pro mist strength you used for these shots? I recently got my hands on a Tiffen Pro-Mist Filter 1/4 strength and I'm loving it for night shots!
I love videos like this, but just wish you'd leave the images up a little longer. Yes I can go to your IG, and I have, but while you're talking about the image and what is working, it'd be nice to see it for longer than without having to stop the video.
Appreciate y'all watching!!
Hey man, do you shoot in shutter speed priority or manual for night photos like that? I ask that because not all cameras bring good results considering noise/IS
Do you often get mad at photos? Is this something you need to talk about? :)
What are those yellow things at 5:27?
"All we got was a horse." Perfect. Great video Evan.
haha shoutout to that house! thanks for watching!

I think that light trails could be a nice challenge!
Maybe something winter themed or something showing the lifelessness of the streets with it being colder out.

Me: Oooh that’s a good one!
Evan: Eh...
Me: Oh...
Gotta show this to my wife to show her that standing in the middle of the street to shoot
photos is totally normal. Gotta get the shot!
haha real ones understand! thanks for watching!
Cars will stop.....most of the time
Yeah, mine also seems to think I am nuts for just taking pictures of old buildings. Cars here in Louisiana, strangely, don't seem as inclined so stop as they do in Atlanta.
That first picture through the prism display is sick WTFFF
I really like the BTS GoPro footage. I am a child of an engineer, so I always enjoy seeing how things are done.
Great shots! Keep doing what you do bro! Your eye is yours. See you in the next one!
music was insanely chill
Always the the best videos!
Super cool and chill video, as always, Evan. ✌
Yes more like this. I love seeing the creative process play out
Would be great to get the settings (iso, speed and aperture) of the shots for novices like me ( I have a X100F)
Killer video!!! 👏👏
Man I admire your work and I admire you. If my city was a bit more secure at night I'd go out and take pictures. Great video 🙌🏼
Another dope video!
definitely love your behind the scene videos!
I appreciate how you show the photo regardless of if you were really feeling it. Thanks for sharing!!! Gave me some cool ideas!
I think your photos are great, but under which ISO do you photograph out of control? the photos are sharp and look good ..
Yes man, another awesome video!
yo thank you!
I never understood people who said adlanta was bad for photography cause it's amazing
Great content, I just subscribed!
Dope bro!
Woohoo another video from my favorite photographer!

Dope man. I love these types of walk-through videos as it gives just great insight into what you specifically look for when you go out at night.
Great Video, im waiting for the stickers to get back in stock, so i can order them with the book together!
Keep inspiring!

Another great video. What ISO are you generally shooting at for the night shots? I’m always afraid of getting too much noise.

Perfect timing. Right as I was going on break. Super improvement on your vids. Photos always on point.

A good old night street mission from Evan - great stuff dude these never get old 🔥 I’m looking into getting a pro mist filter after this
yeah dude, check one out! I wouldn't use it all the time but its a cool effect to play around with!
You always inspire me
Great video.
thank you!
Man I loved this one. I always learn so much by watching. Not really, by seeing the photo itself, but how you look for the shot. Anyways mad love to ya as always, and I'm looking forward to the next one!
always thankful for the support man!
Going strong on the grind !
no doubt!

"Hopefully a person would walk in front, eh, all we had was a horse" see those all the time in the city
I enjoy your posts. Have you. Considered shots in vicinity of the airport or Buckhead?
Great video and photos. I'm in Wroclaw(Poland) now. Need to do the same - go at night to the center of the city and make some photos with my X-Pro1 and 16mm f/1.4. But I'm too lazy for this :D
cool! my grandpa (on my moms side) was polish, id love to visit there one day!
@@RanftEvan Poland is great. Wroclaw is beautiful. But I'm go home, Ukraine, in few month.

Cool videos man! Wat r ur gopro settings here?
Don’t be scared to go handheld super slow, I’ve gotten clean shots at 1/4th of a second on the xh1, small sensor + ibis= great stability
honest im so used to not having IBIS I forget its there in those situations, for sure came in handy for that shot!
The 🍄 comment had me cracking up.
haha I almost took it out but its the first thing that popped into my head!
Notif Squad!! Bring on the fire Evan!!!! :)
notification squad = real MVPs
3:01 Empty Atlanta city streets explain why you can walk around with the GoPro on your head :D
Where do you focus when you shoot a street scene at f/2.8?
🍄🍄😵yeahhhh baby 🤣
the emojis lol
Loved watching u work as always. Would be nice if you would show your pictures a little longer tho.
noted!
Evan, what was the pro mist strength you used for these shots?
I recently got my hands on a Tiffen Pro-Mist Filter 1/4 strength and I'm loving it for night shots!
I think you would really enjoy shooting cinestill 800 at night time. It's the film stock that reminds me most of your cinematic city style.
thats the second comment about this film so I for sure gotta check it out!
@@RanftEvan that would be awesome. Looking forward to it!
Definitely going to check this out, thanks for the tip!
What did that filter do and what kind of filter is??
Hi Evan have you had any issues with the X-H1? I’m looking at buying one
Notification Squad!!!!!!!!!
the real MVPS!
16-55mm is already in my bag, X-H1 is on the way. Couldn't resist it, it was a bargain price...
What filter did you use?
It would be better if you include your settings. Great video though.
bts eeeee!
Thank you for watching!
BTS so amazing
