Quality post, Mike. Commentary added in post preferred for audio quality, IMO, but at cost of spontaneity. Last escalator shot a plus for tight composition. Uplooking shots, IMO, would look better in B&W - emphasizing graphic characteristics. Numbering pics in vid would ease/encourage viewer comments. Sporting of you to boost Pete - street photography genre on YT getting saturated lately, making it difficult for talent to shine - images speak for themselves in final analysis. He owes you a brew, or maybe a chicken bacon bagel😁🐔🥓🥯. Suggest renting an 85mm lens before making a choice - based on your own personal shooting and ergo preferences (instead of well meaning, but possibly bad advice from others). Cheers!
Hey Paul, I always appreciate these comments! The commentary was 100% because I wanted to save the audio quality haha. I really liked the last escalator shot too. I haven't actually tried making any look up shots in B&W before so I'll go ahead and give it a go. Photo numbering is a good shout as well, thanks! I'm sure Pete will return the favour somehow haha, what goes around comes around. I think a bagel is definitely on the cards. Renting an 85mm is a good idea, gives me the opportunity to make a POV with it too haha. Thanks for watching and commenting Paul!
I love love love your style and approach to photography! I am getting the Canon RF 10-20 soon, so thank you for the great pointers! Cheers from San Francisco!
The 10-20mm was one of the reasons I retired my trusty Nikon Fs for a Canon 20D in 2005. Good to know it works on the R6 because I’m planning on buying an R6mkII to shoot stills and videos.
Gréât vidéo mike. Thanks mr. Chicken and mr. Bagel. I am just getting into street photos and always take my stealthy m5 with a 22mm on the crop, but I think I’ll go out with the 17-40 and my Eos R for a change. Thx for the inspiration.
Look Up shots are so sick! People don't look up enough these days!! Voiceover adds a nice touch too, that and a mix of POV is cool! Love the shot of old mate with the mask over his mane and the 50mm compression of the buildings too. Really enjoyed the video and now your've got me craving a chicken and bacon bagel hahaha! Have a great day!
Thanks for watching, I've always been a sucker for a good look up shot with a wide angle. That portrait of the bearded guy was so random I don't even remember taking it haha. Bagels always a good shout.
It looks like a great lens for the price but you should watch some reviews on RUclips, there seems to be a common problem with af lockup and it gives a yellow tinge to the photos which isn’t much of a problem if you’re editing them just something to point out
a) Mike you are the best photographer eveeeeerrrrrrrr!!! 😋 b) I love wide lenses, I have a fisheye 8.5mm and I'm thinking of buying a 10-20mm! Beautiful photos! The photos from the 50mm were also very good! c) Does Pete take requests? Tell him next time I want him to sing "Take on me" by AHA! 😂😂😂 d) You should get the 85mm! e) I didn't catch what you said in the end of the video but I watched all of it! f) I'm going over to Pete's channel now!
I have both the RF 35mm and 85mm (not L series) lenses. I think the 85mm will be good if you want a bit of a challenge. Might be too much for any architecture shots but great for taking closeup shots of small details. Great video format, very dreamy.
Love the commentary and shots you took, amazing work! I am debating between the 10-22 or 15-35 lens for street photography and landscape which would you recommend? The 85mm is surely a good option give you already have a wide angle and a 50mm. Now I want a chicken and bacon bagel as well 😂😅
Aha thanks for watching man! The 15-35 will probably be a little sharper! Depends which model you get but I just know the 10-22 is a cheaper version. It’s all up to you!
I hope you had some sauce in that chicken and bacon bagel. Solid video dude! Making me even more gutted I didn’t make it to London this weekend before it starts getting busy again
I think I prefer the vibe of this style of video rather than the live commentary - nice soundtrack choice too. I reckon you should go for the 85mm for the compression. A 35 is quite similar to a 50 in my experience!
Loved the fact that you put the settings of each shot on there. As a beginner, I’m just curious what situations urge you to push the shutter speed up to 1/1000 etc? 😊 Thank you and keep up the content.
Good all around. Nice shots. Horizontal pov for landscapes are the biz. Perhaps try 100 mm macro if you like fine details. 85 is nice for people especially 3/4 and 1/2 body. Do you ever use view finder and not screen? Just curious. Try variable nd filter especially for crushing the blacks of image... ie spooky spots and 1 light source.
Is there any difference betwwen this APSC 10-22 and for example a 17-40 or 16-65? I know about prospectve, but you actually get a "cut" image from the 10-22 so you are not actually taking advantages of the focal reach right?
Hey Mike! I'm going to New York pretty soon, and I'm getting the M50. Do you think the kit lens would be great, or do you think another lens would be great for wide-angle pictures? Love your videos! Thanks for sharing!
What Do You Think About Using This Lens The 10-22 MM On An Old DSLR Like The Canon 30D Or The Canon 1000D Is it Worth Buying So I Can Mount It On One oF These Cameras I Have To Do Street Photography....
How much would that 10-22mm set you back if you were to buy it? Photos look amazing on that lens dude. I reckon the 35mm may be more suited for your street pov but if you want to get more portraits then the 85mm would be better. I'm actually torn between those 2 lenses too so I've said to myself that eventually I'll buy both 😂😂😂
Looks like it's between £500-600 at the moment, brand new! Thanks mate. haha this didn't help me you just confirmed what I was already thinking, difficult choices lol

Great video and photos, the first one of the stairs is amazing.
The lens is EF-S not EF, right?
Btw, chicken and bacon bagel sounds appetizing 😁
Thank you! Yeaa, thats right its the Canon EF-S 10-22mm, the bagel was lovely hahaha
@@MikeChudley you got me searching for that lens for more than 10 minutes 😅
such excellent photos and a little tour I guess in London, been wanting to go to London
Great video! Amazing photos 👏
Thank you Isabel!
I want a chicken and bacon bagel now! Another great video man. I personally love that wide angle look. Also, 85mm has gotta be added next surely?!
Thanks Dan! I think it’s gonna happen. Might just get the Samyang tbf

Awesome photos!!!
Great Vlog as always. As for what lens to buy next. 85mm! I wouldn’t be without it.
Thanks for watching Mick! I think it’s looking like that haha
The escalator shots are very cool 💥...I would get the 85mm. You "more or less" got a 35mm covered in you're other lenses I think 🤔.
very true! I can get 35mm from a range of lenses tbf - Im getting closer to that 85mm for suree
Great shots! Didn't realize the R6 had an APSC mode. Thanks for the video.
Using the Ef to R adapter it works perfectly!

nice one Chudders, I'm looking for my next lens to be either a macro lens or a 10-22. i think this video has made my mind up. thank you my man!
85mm samyang I recommend

The 85 af Samyang is an amazing ! I have fell in love with it. I paired it with the Canon RP. 10/10 suggestion
Fantastic, been looking for real examples of Canon EF-S10-18 mm lens. This has definitely sold it to me
Deffo hitting up canary wharf tomorrow morning, because of this video love your shots man keep it up 🔥😍😊

Filmed an 85mm POV on Saturday! Video coming soon ✌🏻
Would 35mm, 30mm or 28mm be wide enough for architectural shots or would you just go 10-22mm if I already have a 50mm
Love the commentary and shots you took, amazing work!

Mayo... thoughts?!
Yeah solid condiment. More versatile then a 50mm
@@neilbaxter3258 thanks mate
Any tips on getting the sharpest photo through shooting and editing
Make sure your focus is perfect when out shooting would be the first point I think mate. There are lots of factors that come into play.
I think I prefer the vibe of this style of video rather than the live commentary - nice soundtrack choice too. I reckon you should go for the 85mm for the compression. A 35 is quite similar to a 50 in my experience!
Thank you! Glad you liked the commentary, I think it'll be a regular feature. 85mm is what I'm itching towards! Thanks for watching mate
Yh get the 85mm heard some good stuff about it
yeaah everyone is telling me it's really worth it!
I have the EF 35 f/2, and i love the pics i get with it on the R6
they should look great!
Great POV 👊
Thanks Trev!!
Alright man, I was looking for a specific 10mm lens review, but after that first escalator shot I had to stay, it will wait ahah.
Amazing shots 🔥

Awesome! Thank you!
Amazing photos like always man!
thanks Arrow, like always!
I'm thinking of going to London soon to do some street photography myself. Can you recommend and great spots to shoot which are very underated?
South bank area is always a good one! Even around Piccadilly, China town etc etc. Camden is pretty decent too!
The 10-22 is an apsc lens on your full frame body. Are all these cropped photos?
It's three years later, did you choose the 85? You chose the 85, right?
cool..
is that ef or ef-s?
go with the 35mm , good at everything type of lens
Very true! The RF 35mm isn’t even that expensive tbf
Hey Mike! I'm going to New York pretty soon, and I'm getting the M50. Do you think the kit lens would be great, or do you think another lens would be great for wide-angle pictures?
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing!
Hey! kit lens is great for anything really but an even wider angle lens would be great for some look up shots in NYC for sure.
@@MikeChudley thank you for the advice!

No set backs, just a regular crop like you would expect with APS-C

how do you raise the resolution of this lens for the Canon R6, because it is about 3084-2272 (it was something like that)
