    Looks like so much fun, I just got done building my 1984 S10 Blazer 4X4, I still have some tinkering left to do on it, but it's done for the most part, I can't wait to hit the Trails with it tho

    The YJ carb issues still going strong

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  4 года назад

      Yeah, he swapped in a modern 4.0 with the ax15 transmission, was a 4.2 jeep. He decided to keep the carb because it was easy but the fuel injection style intake manifold does not like a carb too much

    This video is a refreshing change from most off roading videos I watch… Which is a lot 😂20 year old vehicles that are mostly stock, with only modifications that they actually need, and guys that actually know how to drive! Was this at the Detroit gambler 500?

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  4 года назад

      No, it is bundy hill offroad park. Although my gmc jimmy was in the detroit gambler. Thanks for the kind words

      Did you cut the back of your jimmy?

  • @Equinox121
    @Equinox121 3 года назад +1

    This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a 2000 jimmy and im buying a 97 blazer like literally tomorrow. Do you have a mod list as to whats done to the vehicles? Or were some big tires just stuffed underneath?

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  3 года назад +1

      The blue one with the back cut off is mine. As far as mods go, massive weight reduction with the back cut off, that made it sit two inches higher. I cranked up the torsion bars up front all the way to level it back out. Fitted 265/75/16 or about 32s. I welded up the axle disconnect so it was always locked in and got rid of the vaccum junk. And i put a g80 in the rear diff. So long story short, i put big tires on and made the 4x4 work. I made a video about it awhile back, you can find on my channel.

      This video was filmed at an offroad park. If you are going somewhere like that, they typically give you a trail map with difficulty levels of each trail. If you are going out on like state land type trails in the wild. I recommend investing in some recovery gear like max tracks or the cheaper off brand ones. Maybe a winch or just go in with friends

    I'm curious about how you have the snorkel plumbed in on the Jimmy could you post some pics on its installation please

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  2 года назад

      The snorkel is a peace of exhaust pipe i had the muffler shop put a 45degree bend in. I took the fender off and ran flexible 3inch tubing inside the fender down to the airbox. It was a pain.

    • @lorents11

      @@ITS305TIME thanks...I bought a kit for a xj but I liked the way yours comes out close to the door

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  2 года назад

      @@lorents11 yeah it was custom, it was a gambler 500 truck so i was keeping it cheap. The xj snorkle kit hooks up the same way i did mine, flex tube through the fender. You may have a hard time with the xj snorkle because the blazers fender is really curved compared to a xj fender. But when there is a will there is a way.

    Do the Jimmy and blazer both have open rear differentials or do they have the g80 lockers

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  4 года назад

      I just put a refurbished g80 in the blue jimmy befor this trip. The blazer has a open diff. You can see early on in the video how much it helps, although the g80/gov lock kinda has a mind of its own when it come to if or when its gonna lock in.

    • @philmcginnis2373
      @philmcginnis2373 4 года назад +1

      Great video! Please keep posting! The S series platform is really under rated by many. With a few basic mods it becomes a very capable rig as you well know. You have probably already thought of this but I added the Bravada shaft, a cast iron front diff, and a Lock Right locker to the front of my ZR2 Blazer......it made a HUGE difference in the capability. When I need the G80 to lock up I ride the brake a bit and viola....I am locked front and rear. Really helps when you have a wheel in the air.

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  4 года назад

      Thanks, if i were to get another one i would seek out a ZR2. My jimmy i think mite be past the point of repair. That last trip to bundy i basically broke everything

    • @philmcginnis2373
      @philmcginnis2373 4 года назад

      @@ITS305TIME Lol......Yeah, you have to keep up the front end maintenance on these things or they start breaking down pretty quick. It was getting to where O'Reillys was having to warranty the Moog idler arm everytime I went to a trail. I upgraded to the 3/4 ton bracket made by ATV Speed and installed the big two piece idler arm and have only had to replace that set up once in the last 5-6 years. I just put a Superlift 6" on it and will probably go with 295/75/16s since I have 16"x8" wheels on it and do not want to spend the money for new wheels. It will be interesting to see how the larger idler set up lasts with the bigger tires exerting more leverage.

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  4 года назад

      @@philmcginnis2373 Yeah, my biggest issue with them is i find it really difficult to work on, mines all rusty. Befor the 19 gambler i had to drop the front diff to weld up that little shift collar in the extention housing because it was stripped out, and i had to change out the motor mounts and i could see how it was possible with the diff in the way. Put a homemade snorkel on it, 265 75 16 tires. G80 in the back. The inside is gutted, so that made it sit like 2inch higher in the back, so i just cranked up the front bars all the way and it sat level. Put a jeep rollbar in it. And then the radiator sent coolant to the transmission, the engine had metal in the oil and smells like burning eletric under the hood. All from sitting in that mud hole last time at bundy

    BullyRacing makes a Torsen style front diff for the GM 7.25” front diff. $745 but at least it’s better than an open Diff.

    • @ITS305TIME
      @ITS305TIME  4 года назад

      Ill have to check that out, i didnt think anyone made any kind of locker/limited slip for that front diff. I had mine apart welding up that stupid axle disconnect junk and from what i seen, it does not look like it would hold up to much, but maybe it would idk.
