0:21 - 0:32 This era of this show was truly something else and cinematic like a movie. That transition to Touka's kagune manifesting, with her violet eyes turn red (kakugan) to reveal her piercing devil-like eyes whilst the iconic OST plays in the background is so beautiful, iconic, cool, and well done. I've genuinely seldom seen such an impressionable anime sequence; I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen something as mesmerizing as that. This absolute peak of this show was so godly in terms of story-telling, pacing, and events that it feels like the entirety of season 1 was like a big, long movie, might just be the most cinematic anime I've ever seen.
If there’s one anime that sends me straight back to high school when I see clips of it, it’s Tokyo Ghoul. Especially when I listen to its ending, Saints. Nostalgia literally hits me like a crashing 10ft wave.
I really love that Touka defended her husband from Tsukiyama's madman, it was an epic fight, the adaptation may be questionable but the soundtrack is incredible.
This scene is kinda iconic for me - cause whoever watched it fully, knows that when one Ghoul leave a noticable mark on the other one that means they are theirs forever. Which is later explained to Kaneki by Touka that this is a sign of a marriage or a belonging of one Ghoul to another. That is why this scene is such a remarkable masterpiece. Kaneki at this moment did not even know what this thing means and Touka definetly knew what is the meaning of this.
The first season was actually pretty good for the most part. I just don’t understand why they completely changed the story for the second season and then rushed Tokyo Ghoul: Re 🤦🏾♂️
The 1st season of Tokyo Ghoul is in the top 3 anime of all time for me. I love the tone of the show so much. It is incredibly depressing how colossal the drop in quality was in the later seasons.
Everyone does. However, don't expect it anytime soon. The anime ended in 2018, so it's wayyyy too early. Expect it to be 5 years at the very minimum, but it could go the unlucky way and get a remake in 10-20 years.
@@lynling7830 It's too iconic and good for no remake. They make reboots for unpopular animes all the time. Tokyo ghoul is still in the top 10 watched animes, after 4 years.

Thank u crunchyroll for not blacking out half the screen whenever there’s blood
Keep the music if there’s a reboot. Also… I really hope it’s not rushed. No jumps from one group of characters with no introductions to another. The lack of context for those that only watched the anime was too hard. I was lost through most of it. However… Ken Kaneki is one of my favorite MC’s of all time. His journey… most wouldn’t have survived. From introverted nerd to torture victim to cannibalism to near death to goat goul leader to Mr. Rogers.
_Slight_ spoiler (even though it's a remake of a 10-year old franchise)... Their reactions at the start of the scene (Touka's hesitation and embarrassment, Tsukiyama's indignation and outrage) make more sense when you realize that in terms of Ghoul "culture", biting another ghoul is akin to marrying them... It's their way of marking eachother as belonging to eachother.

Anime Alternate Universe:
Aqua Vs Light Yagami
Nanazua Vs Rin Matsuoka
