That time, this song was already forgotten. Regine revived this song in the Philippines without even doing a recording of it. Then later on, Sheryn Regis used it as a contest piece and did a studio version of it which became her biggest hit ever, which she never would have if not for Regine reviving the song in the first place, so I have to give credit to Regine. And that is why Regine is the gold standard in OPM. She has hundreds of great live performances not caught on video.
Which Ms Regis didn't give credit to because she copied Regine's version ..... But the Songbirds version is UNTOUCHABLE !

She's the First Filipina to cover this Song which is a Wendy Moten original and no one can touch the Songbird's version which was copied by random singers..... I first heard her sing this in her REGINE UNPLUGGED series at the Captain's Bar of Mandarin Hotel in 97 ....

She just copied Regine's arrangement of the song and the way the Songbird sang it which makes her a COPYCAT and she oversang it to make it worse......Regine's version is her own original and never copied Wendy Moten's .... That's what you call A REAL ARTIST... IF SHE MADE IT HER OWN THEN , SHE MIGHT HAVE WON THE FIRST PLACE AND BEAT ERICK SANTOS WHICH SHE DID NOT ..... MEANING , she is not that good , let alone the best , because if she did better than the Songbird she would be doing solo concerts in Araneta or MOA .... A reality check ! .... PERIOD !

Regine is regine, she is untouchable, I cant compare sheryn's version to this, sheryn's version is way to different and I don't really like it, medyo masakit kasi sa tenga yung sigaw na birit nya and ramdam mong hindi nya kontrolado talaga.

Regine is still the voice to beat. The newer generation in the philippines missed such greatness. I've been fond of watching good singers in the philippines since I was young and haven't seen someone surpassed regine's vocal prowess. The clarity and the fullness of her voice especially when belting is out of this world. Many can belt but not as powerful as how regine does it. She is a beast. I know not everyone agrees with my opinion, but I know the majority do coz Regine is Queen.

Regine was trained by her father when she was young submerged in the sea from feet to her neck and belting classic songs. That's how she developed powerful muscles in singing.
You know the song because you've reacted to Sheryn Regis singing the same song on the Wish Bus a while ago. Come In Out of the Rain was quite popular in the PH in the 90's because singing contestants like to sing it as it is a difficult piece to perform. As you know, Filipinos love to sing, esp difficult songs that would require belting, riffs and runs, and an oxygen tank.
