Satisfying to see ISIS's rise and fall.. (Edit: Stop arguing each other, of who defeated them, or who was the most effective opponent against ISIS. What matters, is that they no longer control territory in the Levant and operations against the sleeper cells (like guerilla fighters) are being made. Syria and Iraq will stay strong!!
Ismail Yeah, of course, they defeated ISIS giving them weapons in exchange for the stolen oil 😂 This was funny Syrians simply done the major job in their country by defending their soil by the hordes of mercenaries and jihadists. If they win, is because of their strong spirit they had (especially during the dark days of 2014-15), not because of those who thought to do the same job they’ve done in Libia and Iraq in the past years.

The mapping is great, it`s like what I was waiting for. But this war itself is one of the most catastrophic things of the 21-st century. 8 years now...
@@lordfarquad6918 Not sure. Yes, maybe the active phase of fighting, but not the conflict itself. Assad regime is keeping the power and will continue to rule. That means those reasones that caused the war won`t be overcome. Syria became a puppet of Iran/Russia and syrian economy falled apart, like the infrastrucuture. ISIS is defeated, but only on the ground. The idea, the people are still alive. Also the new generation will rise, and those whose parents were killed in the war may start another war in the future. Kurds also won`t agree to fully reunite with the assad Syria, like the regime demands. Turkey doesn`t hurry up to winthdraw its forses from tne North. And opposition in Idlib (now replased with islamists) is still alive. The war is not over and won`t be, even when fighting is stopped. Sorry for my English.
@St. Petersberg Oh, come on! These tales are for young pupils, that believe in the monstrous America and great peaceful Assad. But those, who tell these tales always forget about shot demonstrations, bombed cities, gas attacks, genocide by starvation in Madaya, destruction of Aleppo, Sednaya prison, Ghouta, Homs, Daraa and so on. Even if his enemies were demons, that doesn`t give him the right to eliminate his own country`s people, He`s just one of the bloody dictators whose only goal is to stay on the throne. Radovan Karadžić was sentenced to live imprisonment, Assad must be the next.
@@eoraptorua he's right I have tons of resources and sources that prove what he's saying. The rebels have been gassing there own people to get u.s support by blaming assad, this civil war is 100% a failed u.s backed proxy war to install a friendly regime just like in iraq. Also remember in Libya when we overthrowed Gaddafi now since he's died libya has public slave auctions. Again I have proof you don't believe me
Honestly, where does it even go from here? I don't take Erdogan at his word that Turkey is just going to occupy a strip in the north, and they're currently occupying land in the north in opposition to a Russian and Iranian backed Assad. A mess that'll take decades to clean.
Depends whose side you're on. Turkey says they're terrorists, they (probably) say they're freedom fighters, and I say that Sykes and Picot shouldn't have done what they did. Personally? I think that Kurdistan should exist. The question, if one is indeed of that opinion (which you may or may not be) is what country/ies to take that land from - Iraq, Syria and/or Turkey?
@Alper Tunga Kürtler IŞID'i yendi, siz anca jihadist Özgür Suriye Ordusunu destekliyodunuz. Türkiye sivil hedefleri bombalıyor, 15 kürt sivil öldürüldü bile. PKK deyip sivillere saldırıyorsunuz.
Even that is a massive over simplification! Including the various factions under the FSA banner (many of which switched allegiances based on who could supply money and material rather than on ideology), the various international support for Assad (Iran, Russia), against Assad (Saudi Arabia, Quatar), and for Rojava (US and allies)... probably would've made the video almost unintelligible to the naked eye!
On the ground it was way more than 9 , rebels were actually at a war with eachother i remember there were alliances way back in 2015 faylaq al rahman , jaych al islam , liwaa *something* , ahrar al cham , al nusra and shittons of macro and micro groups were fighting eachother over power and making alliances
Just look at that litle poket of the Syrian army in the midle of ISIS who stood there for 5 years, from November 25.2015 till September 5. 2017 years !!!! Glory to those soldiers !!!!
@Shannon Jowey different to the arabised countries of the Middle East that have relied on totalitarian Regimes (monarchies, Military or other secular dictatorships) to bring stability to such heterogenous areas with a plethora of different religions and peoples within their border.
In Islam you can use Democracy,Monarchy etc. But you need to rule with Islamic Rules. There's not laicism in Islam. And don't look to isis to see what Islam is. Islam doesn't say be terrorist.
@The Blasphemous Infidel honestly dude , you are a fool. Although I disagree with the tunisian islamist party too , they have been civil since the revolution and didn't try to change the democratic process , they won so they ruled and then they lost so they peacfully passed down power . I don't get why anyone would want these people to get persecuted again . And btw , it wasn't islamists that were persecuted under Ben Ali but also communists , socialists , nationalists and even liberals . If you disagreed with that piece of shit and his politics publicly you probably would have ended up in jail .
@The Blasphemous Infidel you surely live in a bubble . Today the Salafi mouvement died out and even those who remain are just religious people who are not going to harm anyone , I know many of them and they are extremely friendly people . And what is a "terrorist-looking person" ? Someone who wears the traditional afghani dress ? A woman who chooses with her own will to wear a niqab because of her religious beliefs ? Or do you also consider the hijab to be a terrorist garment ? (After all Ben Ali banned the hijab and you clearly love his oppressive policies) . And ansar al sharia are nearly non existant in Tunisia today , it looks like you are still living in 2011-2016 not 2019 . And comparing sidi bouzid to Afghanistan means that you either don't just one of them or the two of them . Arab countries are capable of maintaining a democracy , this doesn't mean there should be a violent revolt that in the end suits a sectarian narrative and that helps foreign powers (like in syria or libya) but we also mustn't forget our revolution brought us many good things (for a start the fact we can access youtube) . Not to mention Ben Ali was a stupid western dick rider and he clearly succeeded in making a lot of tunisians self haters (such as you and most of the Arab world today) it is no longer a source of pride to be Arab but rather a source of shame and an identity we try to distance ourselves from , and then people ask why sectarianism exists .
ISIS: When victory is in your grasp but for some reason you decide to declare war on the world and be just about as vulgar and horrific as humanly possible then wonder why you got wiped out.
@@dave_riots that's already a thing in war times. It's called conscription. The US doesn't need conscription because it's not at risk of imminent destruction. And are you really taking the moral high ground by claiming you are slightly better than ISIS of all people?

Of course it did, because this wasn't a civil war. It was an invasion on strategic areas and merging of terrorists with civilians to wreak havoc in the nation. It wasn't a popular uprising.

Why do people act like controlling tons of non-strategic territory with little infrastructure is significant. It's like if ISIS popped up in the middle of the Sahara, it wouldn't matter. The ideological conflict and the big players behind the various factions is what matters
Russia started its campaign in Syria in 2015, 4 years later in 2019 and the Jihadist Sunni rebel threat is completely wiped out. No amount of money nor schemes from Crusaders in NATO, Zionist, and Wahabbis are powerless against truth. Imam Hussein smiles upon Syria

The half moon “rebel” area is actually the USA, the Al-Tanf Area. Also the detached part of Rojava/Northern Syria is now controlled by Turkey, as is a portion of northeastern Peshmerga
Jacques Guerrier nope the us operates in northern Syria because it has good relations with the Kurds, who have carved out a state in northern Syria and Iraq. The Al-Tanf Area is a US military base and 50 miles of American sovereignty surrounding it. This is almost 100% desert and the US Military used to use it to train Syrian Rebels, however it’s been several years now since there was any organized opposition to Assad, so perhaps they train Kurds or Israelis there now. But bottom line: Al-Tanf Area is USA territory for a 50 mile half moon radius.
Jacques Guerrier the north is an actual state, the “Democratic Federation of Northern Syria” which has its own army, the US assisted this army seize territory from the Islamic state, just as the Russians to the south were helping the Syrian Army seize adjacent IS territory. In great contrast, the situation in the south is inorganic, with almost no settlements located in the Al Tanf area besides the US base, and the ring of sovereignty being that of a military area, with the 50 mile ring effectively all being part of the base. There’s just no real comparison. And on your other point, there hasn’t been real opposition for years, the civil war effectively ended in 2016, except for resistance by that small clerical Al-quaeda backed enclave. Aside from al-quaeda proxies, all the other groups in Syria are simply provincial groups or foreign powers carving up Syria’s border regions. But the civil war between the president of Syria and his secular opposition has long since ended, with Assad the winner
Jacques Guerrier just because there are groups doesn’t mean they hold territory. And thanks for correcting me about the updated Kurdish name. Yes I know at one point the al tanf base was the centerpiece of “free Syria” or whatever it was called but that died out pretty much after the fall of alleppo, which was obviously an enclave by the point being across the country from al tanf. But today al tanf is just a USA military installation where certain us-backed militias shelter. And turkey’s is different it’s basically a protectorate, but people actually live there unlike al tanf. There’s name for the Turkish protectorate, [something] Belt, and they are mainly there to oppose the Kurds (and their state of North/East Syria, as you say it’s now called, which borders the Turkish protectorate) but yeah I mean Syria is vastly shrunk compared to its pre-war size and despite regaining its bare-minimum territorial integrity, as you say they are still subject to numerous militia and terrorist attacks inside even secure areas of the country. The Syrian Army has not been able to regain the last jihadi stronghold in the north of the country. But all in all, the fact remains that the threat from inside Syria’s heartland has mainly been reduced to militias and bombing, seemingly destined eventually peter out. “Free Syria” hasn’t existed for like 3 years. They’re back to being agitators. Essentially the only work left to be done on this map is clean up work. All of their sovereignties will eventually be revoked and placed back under Syria in all likelihood when hostilities end, but with complete autonomy, so every inch of land gained by any party is still important even as the war seemingly draws to a close
Do you see there are still Syrian rebels (green) in Syria at Jordan Iraq border. If anyone is wondering why they haven't been defeated yet. Well the answer is that's the place where US military base is situated. I hope you guys can understand what's happening.
There are satellite photos that show dozens of graves close to where the people live there, in tents for example. People want to get out of there and the US doesn't let them go, because that would mean they would have no reason to have a military base in that part of Syria anymore.
Whether they are there or not, it does not matter anyway, Bashar Syria is a bunch of local militia authorized by the government on which the latter can do nothing, and will not do anything anyway as long as they remain quiet to "tap" and overtax the inhabitants of their control areas. At this point, this enclave of free Syria, it's just a militia like the others, but that has the ambition to create a new government and that has the support of foreign power.
@@Mr-Jiksaw Oh yes, let's just pretend that the majority of IS members weren't from the US ally Saudi Arabia or treated in the hospitals of another US ally named Israel... While being attacked from behind by the Turks... If Turkey would be smart they would support the Kurds to claim a part of Syria, help them even to set things up there, so they can become allies. But unfortunately that is not how the world works. Revenge and fear of revenge are the driving factors of many of these conflicts.
Yet another attempt to further divide the region. Syria is filled with all kinds of minorities that exist over centuries, let's split it up into tiny little fragments, Assyrian, Arab, Sunni, Shia, Druze, Christians, etc... Could be right but you also need to consider that the civilians were oppressed for a long period of time without having the ability to vote for another president and did not have freedom of speech. I wish it all went to a peaceful process instead of killing everyone.
@John Smith you are right with one part, yes, people in other places are oppressed. This fact however does not go against the right of the Syrian people to freedom. I wish they are free of any oppression as well as any person in this world.
@John Smith there can be so mamy kinds of oppression, be it polical or cultural or of any kind, no one deserves it and no one deserves to get tortured or brutally treated anywhere.

All of their sovereignties will eventually be revoked and placed back under Syria in all likelihood when hostilities end, but with complete autonomy, so every inch of land gained by any party is still important even as the war seemingly draws to a close
war is over
Do you see there are still Syrian rebels (green) in Syria at Jordan Iraq border. If anyone is wondering why they haven't been defeated yet. Well the answer is that's the place where US military base is situated. I hope you guys can understand what's happening.
RatherA they need to gtfo if they don't want another war.
There are satellite photos that show dozens of graves close to where the people live there, in tents for example. People want to get out of there and the US doesn't let them go, because that would mean they would have no reason to have a military base in that part of Syria anymore.
oy vey antisemitic conspiracy theories
Whether they are there or not, it does not matter anyway, Bashar Syria is a bunch of local militia authorized by the government on which the latter can do nothing, and will not do anything anyway as long as they remain quiet to "tap" and overtax the inhabitants of their control areas.
At this point, this enclave of free Syria, it's just a militia like the others, but that has the ambition to create a new government and that has the support of foreign power.

Historians will study this conflict from every angle for generations to come. It renewed global nationalism, showed the limits of the UN resolution making power, demonstrated how large scale battles between conventional armies play out in the age of drone warfare, satellites, the internet, social media and the like. Every major ideology was present, there were dozens of nations and many different factions vying for power in a similar vein to the Spanish Civil War. This conflict will define a generation globally and it's lasting impact is yet to be fully felt or understood.

So simple
So, according to your video, it was Kurds earned so much benefits of the war. They claimed so much land they didn't own.
While being attacked from behind by the Turks... If Turkey would be smart they would support the Kurds to claim a part of Syria, help them even to set things up there, so they can become allies.
