They nearly took the whole of Syria holy shit, good thing they got stopped in time before they got hands on better equipment or gotten an airforce or something.
@@shinystarmiestudios4179 The closer they would get to conquering Syria, the closer they would get to the Russian bases there which would cause a massive tumult. No way in hell that Russia would let those go. With an overwhelming power compared to ISIS they would never allow Syria to fall.
@@simonlind44 There weren't any Russian military bases before 2015. If they focused only on Syria it would've fallen before that so no Russian intervention.
@@maggotfeast Several of the bases were constructed during the time of the Soviet union. But were successively taken over by the Russian military. MTSP Tartus was built in 1971. It has been reinforced and expanded ever since. As early as 2012, Russian special forces were sent there. Khmeimim was built in 2015. Russia also has aircraft deployed on several Syrian bases. Some of whom got attacked by ISIL (Tiyas, 2016).
Not really. The topic of ISIS is not controversial at all, they're pretty much universally hated. Hell, even the other Islamist militant groups hate ISIS.
It will be over in Libya soon. Opération Barkhane will make sure of that (French military support and cooperation with North African states to destroy Al-Quaeda and ISIS after the Paris attacks in 2016).
They tried to expand their operations to Bangladesh too. But failed miserably after the Holey incident thanks to some good efforts by the government and security forces.
The little red area beside the Golan Heights is where ISIS fighter got healed by the Israeli Mosad. Islamic State is attacking other Arab/islamic countries, but is neutral towards Israel who is occupying the holy city of Jerusalem which belonged to the muslims before. Weird isn’t it?
I was in my high school's dormitory in Istanbul in 2014's summer when I read the fall of Mosul to ISIS. I was shocked and barely knew about ISIS back then. I asked is this the same Mosul that I'm thinking? The one that is one of the biggest cities in Iraq??
ISIS really needed to make a stronger push westward toward the sea at their peak. There was no way they were ever going to survive a full-circle front war with no access to ports. But they weren’t exactly the brightest fellows, so it’s not surprising they didn’t.
I have lived all of this and saw it in both eyes because I live in mosul, once they declaimed as their capital , I wish I died before I saw this mess, three years of pain and fear and unknown future ,locked in our city like a prisoners, no schools no internet, no jobs, no money, just killing and bombing and terrifiying everywhere you go. So weird that I went through all of this and I'm still alive and haven't lost my mind.
This is not the fault of ISIS, but rather the fault of the coalition that was bombing barbarically, deliberately targeting civilians to turn public opinion against them. You must blame the evil international coalition.

Yes, they care about Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, but they only recognize their own state, and logically they should be concerned with controlling Mecca before Jerusalem, because Mecca is more important than Jerusalem according to the Islamic religion, and more logically, they expanded into Iraq for the sake of Mecca, because Saudi Arabia is on the borders of Iraq.
