I was 5 when the civil war started, I'm from the coastal area , where no battles happened.
I didn't really see the war and my parents always tried to protect me from seeing the terrifying stuff that were happening up north since I was so young,
Things are much better now and I'm 17 years old but looking back at what my people went through, I realised how lucky I am that my city wasn't a war zone and isis never came to it, I wish all the best to my people

Some points here, the rules and regulations the ISIS tried to impose were correct. Those were mentioned in Quran. But what Quran never said that you kill every single people who doesn't obey them. If Allah wanted to impose his rules on Earth he would never sent messengers to preach his messages, rather he would have sent an Army of his own and punish those Human beings who do not obey his rules. Islam should be spread with love and care, not destruction.

This is an honest question, aren't people living in Raqqa supporting ISIS, otherwise how could they take over a place that they are new to and have no one to hold them.. I assume most of the people of Raqqa either didn't mind them at some point or even supported them.

This is probably footage from when the takeover was recent. In the rural Mosul areas of Iraq when ISIS was expanding, people welcomed them because they hated the current government of Iraq (But as the months went on opposition grew against ISIS because of obvious reasons) so this is probably what happened in Raqqa. They welcomed ISIS because they saw it as an opposition to Bashar's government and let them in

You just need to read. For real, just sit down and start reading your Tafsirs. Why do you always forget the principal of abrogation? There is no peace in Islam. Your own scholars said Sure 9:5 and 9:29 should be done on earth, in general. Feel free to read the Tafsirs in Arabic or use a translator. Start reading the Ahadith and let us know if you were shocked or not. ISIS is only doing what your own scriptures are telling them to do. If you can’t tolerate them, it means there is a problem within your religion.
I really enjoy learning history. And one day our future children and so on will read about this and learn. It is so sad and heartbreaking. So many minds that need to be changed. God be with these ppl. I one day want to visit overseas because history and the beautiful buildings. Whats left anyways

40. “(They are) those who have been expelled from their homes without right, except that they say: ‘Our Lord is Allah’. And had Allah not repelled some people by others, certainly there would have been pulled down cloisters and churches and synagogues and the mosques in which Allah’s name is much mentioned; and verily Allah will help him who helps Him (His cause); for verily Allah is Strong, Mighty.”
الَّذِينَ إِن مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الاَرْضِ أَقَامُوا الصَّلاَةَ وءَاتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَمَرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَلِلَّهِ عَاقِبَةُ الاُمُورِ

It's the shahada. Same as Saudi Arabia flag. It's also known for, when someone accepts Islam as their religion & way of life, that's what they say to become a Muslim as a declaration.
