I can see why this season took 3 years to make! Not only is the writing and voice acting top tier, the animation is mind blowing. You could pause at any frame of this show and it looks like it should be shown at the Louvre. Especially the funeral scene for Caitlyn’s mother.
Also it took so long because they hadn't started the animation at all since they didn't think it would get big like it did and didn't know if season 2 would even happen.
I’m absolutely surprised that not only did Jayce, Mel and Viktor survived, but that not one trailer or poster or any bit of promo material managed to so much as hint that they would survive.
Im pretty sure we saw a frame of Jayce in the Trailer, and we all knew Victor would live considering how much of his character needs to develop to at least semi-match his League lore. But Mel absolutely, they hid her real good

The "green juice" technology is the kinda the original version of what you know as Shimmer in the LoL lore. It's just a mishmash of chemicals, most of which are extremely toxic, therefore technology that utilizes it is known as "Chemtech". In the lore originally, Chemtech is considered Zaun's specialty to rival Piltover's Hextech. Season 1 retconned this a little bit by introducing Shimmer, which is pretty much the same as Chemtech chemicals, while also being a highly addictive drug and steroid. Basically think of Shimmer like a "popular brand" of Chemtech made by Silco, which is why Renni (the chainsaw lady) uses her own stuff. Since she and Silco were rival Chem-Barons, she wouldn't use his product for her own technology. You're all good for thinking it's Shimmer, because it is pretty much just Shimmer.
I think of it as, Shimmer is one of the many Chemtech fuel. Invented by Singed through Rio mutation. Probably "better" than other fuel, hence it's more popular. But, the side effect is worse.

I was so worried that season 2 wouldn't hold up to season 1 as so many shows seem to. I'm very happy to say that so far I think it's somehow even better.

I'm actually glad they're only doing 2 seasons for this story. Allows them to tell the story they wanted to tell for these characters without the risk of being canceled before it can be completed or without too much TV company interference. 💜
This season has started off with such a bang. The animation is going fcking crazy. The actual quiver they put on Cait’s face when she’s trying to hold back her tears is absolutely insane. So many great facial animation choices that makes you just FEEL what’s happening.
The song choices so far have been Phenomenal. Like for the first one while it's obviously about Cait grieving, it also seems like it's about Vi starting to have inklings of truly having lost her sister
They created the soundtrack specifically for the show. They would often animate scenes with other music playing over it to get an idea of the tone of the scene. Then when the scene was finished they make the song to put over it so it matches exactly what they are showing.

It's not surprising that Riot Games and Netflix want to wrap up Arcane in just 2 seasons. If the reports were accurate, it cost around $200M to produce and market seasons 1 and 2 combined. And every dollar amount really shows up in the quality of each episode. This animated series will probably be tough to beat for years to come.
GOSH, Act 1 is so gut wrenching. And I noticed how the last episode seems to parallel how Jinx was abandoned after Vi was kidnapped and she struck Powder, and here it's flipped with the same happening to Vi. It was so gut wrenching to watch, I got a little sick.
I'm not emotionally ready for this...this...season...will...destroy...me. 😢 😭 If Ella Purnell (Jinx's Actress) cried after filming the finale for this season, a good majority of us are sure to as well.

I keep trying to get people to watch this show but it’s hard when it comes to animated shows. I get it, I don’t watch most animated shows anymore. This is not just an animated show though, it’s a genuine WORK OF ART. EVERYTHING is a 10/10… the animation, writing, voice acting, soundtrack, directing, art direction, characterization… it’s a masterpiece.

I absolutely love Act 1. Like, don't get me wrong, it has issues, the pacing could be better and some characters don't get much to do, but man this show just scratch an itch no other show can for me. I am 100% biased cause I know I will love the show no matter what they do lmao.
It was same with season 1. The first two episodes had pacing weirdly sometimes throwing off or giving less time for some characters etc. but they were able to bring everything together by episode 3 and forward, I expect same here.. i was feeling that some things were weirdly rushed and some weirdly slow but by episode 3 it made sense, especially the mole storyline and the science story had great pay offs.. hopefully they can keep up the same level of building up and up till it finally comes down pattern of s1 this season too.
