ALL MY THANKS - written by Gavin Lamplough & Birmingham Citadel Singing Company
During the period of "Lockdown" as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold, the young singers of Birmingham Citadel's Singing Company continued to meet each week online at the time they would usually rehearse.
These sessions took a number of forms but, during June 2020, the children and their leaders worked with Gavin Lamplough to write a brand new song. The children took Psalm 54 from "Psalms Now" as their inspiration and wrote the lyrics to the song in groups before seeing them coupled with a melody as they worked with Gavin each week.
The final part of the process was for some of our group to record it so that we can share it with you. It was recorded whilst observing the rules on social distance by each recording it separately in our own homes before it was edited together to what you can see here.
We hope that you enjoy the singing of the young people and enjoy the song that has been written. We felt that it was important for the members of our choir to have something very positive to come out of such a challenging time and we hope that you find this song a blessing.
