New subscriber here because you are inspiring, wise and funny! I've been planting a small scale for myself to grow the vegetables I used to eat in the Philippines that are not available in the store here in the US for a decade and learning from my mistakes. I learned more from RUclips's videos and I am glad to learn more. Thank you for sharing your ideas and tips! I do like companion planting because I also have a limited area. Enjoy gardening! ❤🙏
Thank you so much for the kind words, and welcome to the channel!
There are no peace joy blessings ; but a fight between 2 spiritual Kingdoms. There is a silent deception hidden behind "ecology" to take control over nature (the plan already existed since 1944 : operations market garden - and Overlorld to bring forth the antichrist, the apostasy on the western world). 2 different churches are opposing each other since the beginning ; the True and the false Churches, with true & false religions : the religion of Abel & the one of Cain. Which intercessor/mediator between humans & God or Satan do you choose : the teachings of Jesus or the rules of money?
Beautiful garden! Everything looks so green and happy. We also love to companion plant, helps so much with pests!
Thanks! Definitely helps with pests, a lot of benefits with companion planning for sure!!

Thanks for the kind words! Welcome to the channel 👍
What a vibrant coloured picture of your garden , produce looking onnnnn fleek🤗🥰❤️💯
Whaaaat? I'm new here and cannot fathom how you are growing cucumbers and peppers in April! I'm in NC (7b) and just now getting above 50* at night so I don't plant summer crops until mid-May! You must have some magical warm micro-climate going there. p.s. your garden is luscious and I'm looking forward to watching more :)
No, we are not. Still to cold. Prepping beds right now. The veg clips are from last season👍Welcome to the channel!!
nice garden .im doing the same but my garden is not yet green as yours .lol
Beautiful Beautiful Gardening! Hardworking
Abundance ,I appreciate this video 😊 Thanks
Thanks! I appreciate the kind words 🤙
This has been so inspiring and helpful. I have been working on how to interplant my rows this year, I don't want any soil blank. I didn't think of eggplant and carrots together, that was the missing piece for me. I had planned the peppers and celery and so glad to see it works well!!!
Thank you! I'm so glad it helped. I try and interplant every bed if possible. Welcome to the channel!!
Yep keep it simple, nice to see the garden live in action, I like the part of planting direct from seed also, falls in line with keep it simple, nice job on that cow fence trellis also, easy thumbs up.
very nice.i see you've got all you want and get everything you need.
Thanks so much! I would have never thought to google companion plants, great info.

Lovely garden. I'm doing the same.
Thank you, good luck this season👍Welcome to the channel!
The part where you say you got to "weed out good" around the spinach.....DON'T THROW THOSE AWAY!!!😄 That's called "Purslane" and it's VERY TASTY AND NUTRITIOUS!👍 It grows in good soil, so you're doing something right!😄👍
Your garden is beautiful !
Thank you!
thanks for the tips. Can i give one in return from my last year? I don't use wood chips anymore . I use oat straws. The oat seeds and all others sprout as hell in all the water absorbed but all you have to do is roll it with your hands so it tear out all the weeds at the same time. You clear the aisle in no time. On the bed, after, you spread it a little to cover the ground again and that's all. At the end of the summer, you recover your garden with dead leaves and all will be clean for the next season. A lot cheaper and faster than wood chips if you ask me.
That works to. I've used straw in the past. I like the wood chips, I've used them for years now and it seems to work better in my context. On top of it staying neat and clean most of the time, it composts in place and after 2 or seasons it goes on my beds. Luckily the we usually have an abundanse of woodchips here on the Farm so cost isn't an issue. Like I say it's all about context.👍
Love From INDIA❤❤❤
Nice video thanks For sharing
I started matching plants together. Information was very informative. Do you use all those onions you plant with other vegetables?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Yes, we either use or preserve as much as we want, sell what we want, & give to friends and family.
Great video. Thanks
That purslane is a specialty crop in itself. You could experiment with letting it grow with your spinach and other plants. It doesn't cast much shade when it grows. Just a thought.
You are absolutely correct! I actually do let some of it grow in different parts of the garden 👍
Nice garden, looks tidy.
Thank you!
Your dirt looks amazing!
nice garden
Wow.thats good idea.thank you for the tips
I might do that method in my small garden
Your vegetable looks very healthy.

Google has been a friend for sure … get this: I wanted to plant jicama which is a part of the nightshade family - concerned as anyone should be lol- I learned that the vines and beans growing off the vines are poisonous ! That-, doesn’t show on the package ! Novices might think , oh- this is cool, let’s cook what looks like dries green beans and end up in the hospital ☠️-
Oh man, that's wild! Glad you checked
Sounds like one of those "first potatoes in Europe" anecdotes. Devious nightshade family fruits!
Some of that is true but jicama is not a nightshade.
Thanks, this gave me some confidence in planning out my rows for next year.
Very cool, glad it helped 👍 ✌

Hello, how do you manage weeds, your crop strips are very clean, do you do it all by hand? Thanks
Thanks and great question. I try to keep up with it weekly with the coliniar hoe primarily, sometimes a stirrup hoe, and then by hand when necessary.
Curious, there are different water requirements for celery vs peppers. How does that work out
I actually watered them the same together with Wobbler Head sprinklers and it worked out great here in my soil, sandy loam, good drainage. That may not be the case in other places. Where are you from, what is your growing soil makeup?
Just found your channel and really enjoyed your video, thanks! If possible try to move the camera slower. Looking forward to watching your other videos. Thanks again
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Still working on the slo-mo..Welcome to the channel!!
I'm jealous of your weeds, I wish I could get purslane to take over my yard! I'd eat them every day 🤣
Your garden is beautiful. *including the purslane 😉
😅🤣Thanks! I'll take the compliment, even for the weeds🤣 I may let a few more of those stick around this year, lol.
Thank you, welcome to the channel!
Great video!
Thanks!! Welcome to the Channel 👍
Hi, how exactly do you sow your bunching onions? They're so thick and in a nice straight line. Did you just make a furrow and sprinkle the seeds in? Love your garden! It's beautiful.
Thanks! I actually sprinkle heavy over a 72cell tray, and start them that way. Then transplant(each cell is basically a bunch) in a row. It works great👍 Welcome to the channel!
Hey Luke! I was wondering why don't you write a book of intercropping for beginner gardeners?
Hey this is Koadi, thanks for watching though!🤙
Dear Sir, very nice and informative video. Please give me advice as well. In hot summer days (100f), or 39C, can I intercrop "Cabbage" under the Shade of Corn Plants.
I probably wouldn't intercrop Cabbage under the corn. There are two reasons for this. Even though Cabbage is a cool weather crop, it still want direct sunlight for healthy growth, and the Corn would actually provide too much shade. The other reason is that they are both very heavy feeders, and would compete for the Nutrients rather than compliment each other.
@@SimplisticFarms Dear Sir, thank you very much for your guidance. So what about Peas or Coriander intercropping in Corn? Do you recommend?
2. And Sir, about cabbage Intercropping in Corn, I have a different plan. Plz analysis and guide will it work. Plan is on 1 Acre piece of Land, I will make 6 foot wide beds. And on both corners of bed, I will sow corn seeds. plant to plant distance of Corn seed will be of 3 foot. The purpose of such huge distance is allow sun light to come inside bed, where I planted cabbage.
Plz Sir guide will it work?.
Thanks a lot.
Google is good, but what happens when SHTF? There's NOTHING like a good book.
One is titled "Carrots Love Tomatoes"
It covers a lot of options of interplanting and companion gardening.👍
I interplanted carrots in between my tomato plants. The carrot tops protect the tomato plants from aphids while the tomato roots protect the carrots from the little maggots that burrow little tunnels in the carrot.
You're welcome...😄👍
Agreed 100%. And yep, I've planted Carrots with my Tomatoes many times, works great👍 Google is helpful in a Pinch, especially for beginners who may not have those books at hand when needed. I have a few myself, but truthfully I've learned a lot more by experiments and experience. Myself though yes, I prefer having a real book or two around just in case😉
I have a lot of weeds growing in my garden bed just like yours. How do you go about weeding it?
I try to keep up with it once a week with the coliniar hoe. If it gets away from me, I pull it by hand..I actually just did a video on a block of beds I let get out of hand last fall.
The alliums with nightshades is a great idea, but it seems like harvesting interplanted leafy greens would be really time consuming and kind of kills your ability to use a greens harvester.
Agreed👍

You’re doing an awesome job making the most of your space! 🤯New here, what is your location or garden zone?
Ignore me. I see it now. Cedar Springs.
Lol, yep West Michigan, zone 5b
Welcome to the channel!!
What are you doing to control grass and weeds? Looks like you have minimal of it.
I try, some years are better than others, lol. First thing of course is starting without any in the bed at the beginning of the season. Then I try to stay on top of it weekly with the coliniar hoe mostly.
hi what is the distance between your brocolis? thanks
I do two rows Staggered at 24"
How do you get so many onions in the the bunches in your onion row?
Do you direct sow ? Or transplant?
Also how many seeds do you place in one bunch? Thanks
I transplant the bunching Onions. I start them in 72cell trays, by simply sprinkling the seeds over the tray(I only do this with onions), the more in each cell the better to a point. Each cell transplanted ends up being a bunch. Hope that helps 👍
@@SimplisticFarms yes This is what I have started trying to do but was told to only put 6to 7 seeds in a 72 cell cell how long after sowing them do you usually wait before transplanting them out 3 weeks or 4 weeks or longer?
@@greenroot7522 yeah that's how I've been doing it for years now. It works great. Yeah 3-4weeks if they look good.

amazing no weeds ..how fake a channel
Oh I have a ton of weeds, I try and minimize it by high density planting, weekly hoe-ing and hand pulling when it gets out of hand. Still too much for me to keep 100% (it's about 60/40)weed free. That's as real as it gets buddy🤙
It takes a lot of hard work to keep a garden looking that good. I used to get up at 6am each morning to get into the garden before the sun got hot to pull weeds and keep my garden looking good like that
