Harvesting ingredients and cooking in the peaceful countryside creates the most beautiful scenes
While living in Germany in the 80s and 90s I lived next to a farmer who grew asparagus that would cover the spears once they broke through the soil. Every morning they would walk down the rows and cover the emerging spears, high and higher until fully grown. When ready they would harvest long thick heavy white spears of asparagus that were amazingly tender. He sold to many of the local Gasthaus. Best I have ever eaten.
Weiss Spargel auch!
Hi, we also lived in Germany and that was one of our very best meals we ate while living there. It was in the month of May when we were enjoying those tender white spargels!!!
Covered with what??
Wow! 🌱 That's genius! Never thought of growing asparagus on my terrace. Can't wait to try it out!
Wonderful!
I admire these hardworking young people! Their efforts and progress should be appreciated...
Thank You! ... First time I've seen these grown in Containers. Good adaptation for the long term & From Seed, not the 2.yr old roots.
Wow! I think I will try growing them this way…thank you so much for sharing
What a great idea. I've had a lot of trouble growing asparagus in the open garden, because the deer love them. I've already grown them from seed and they're easy, but I'll be growing them in containers from now on - away from the deer.
🤭its not about deer its hiw to control the deer i. Your garden😮
@@cutepinkrabbit551 I was wondering how do you control the deer in your garden🤔 they’re pretty bad in Alabama?
the pot of asparagus is so beautiful,my friend

So nice of you
Trồng măng tây kiểu này thích thật
wonderful, the process of growing and harvesting tomatoes is admirable
3 years to get spears. Plus you never cut off the fronds especially when they're green. The roots need the fronts to develop a big root system.
Hi, so you leave all the fronds all the time? Thank you!
Only remove the fronds when they are brown and crispy
@@luciapeimbert4783you keep them when they are green. You weed whack them when they dry up or during springtime.
@@thingirlsrus I agree. Many of these Asian videos have suspiciously over the top productivity. But this one takes the cake.

Hola, quiero comenzar a plantar espárragos. Gracias!!!
Growing asparagus is not for everyone. It demands time, knowledge and dedication. It's easy to deduce why it's so expensive.
I love gardening home too❤❤
Sangat bagus. Ternyata menanam asparagus sangat lama 8 bulan. Hasil sangat bagus.

Thanks you very much for clip videos
In Spain, due to the climate, they usually take less time to grow depending on the region or climate, the processes are accelerated and also in the greenhouse, in my case it is a Mediterranean climate.

Excellent work
Nice gardening. Great job showing us how to grow asparagus. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day

It would be nice if you explained what you are doing. Not all of us are geniuses who can just watch and understand.
I agree. There is no time indicated: was that a single summer, three years or what? And I doubt you can get much from asparagus from seed the first season.
@@lazygardens This video is trash
@@lazygardens - First of all, he lives in a country were there is no significant cold weather, like the Philippines, or southern California, or Southeast Asia because his plants are growing all year 'round. Second, he added egg shells for calcium, and later added a time release fertilizer - Asparagus are heavy feeders. When he trims the plants he takes ALL but one mature stem each time - he did this at 4 months, 8 months, and then 12 months - this gave the plants time to produce good root growth. If you harvest for your own use, you should stagger your planting so you have a container to harvest each month, because after harvest you need to let the plant grow so it can produce plenty of shoots at the next pruning.
@@Rattlerjake1Thank you for this explanation!!
True.
Looks so easy,I will try 🎉❤

This is so BS, anyone who've grown aspragus will know. It takes the plant at least 2 years growing from rooting to be able to produce edible shoots. Planting from seeds would be even longer.
The seeds fallen from my mature plants took 4 years to make anything worth cutting.
This type of videos ruin Gardening videos and channels. How hard is it weed them out.
Looks to have shown three growing and pruning seasons before harvesting, so maybe time stamp was just incorrect.
In four season country?
So good job, amazing👍👍👍
Rất tuyệt ❤
So what I get from the video is that you need to cut most of the thin and tall plants out and need always some of them there, preferably in even spaces. Is my understanding right? Thanks!
Yes! You need to weed them around springtime especially when it dries up. I’m still waiting for mine to give me harvest. It’s been close to two years. Once they start fruiting they will give you yield for many years. I heard from some people, their asparagus patch is 99 years old. It’s been pass down to them. I’m not much into vegetables gardening. I love perennial flowers.
The only vegetable I grow every year is garlic and herbs and my additional , Asparagus. It’s cancer fighting vegetable. Amazing!
What is that white thing you put on the ground? Is it egshell? To add calcium?
so good, my friend. Thank you so much
Thanks for visiting
Wow i wanted to try to plant this but i dont have seeds❤️
