You make me want to see if I have my video about my beautiful Teenage Engineering OB-4, 'the Magic Radio', around somewhere. Radios can have some serious cool.
Wow. How interesting. Greetings from South Africa. Edit: What would you say is a good radio that is portable and good for dx on any band and good quality audio?
If you haven't already, I would subscribe to SWL's channel; he's also in South Africa and is probably better acquainted with what works best locally there. I'd bet that, for a budget receiver, he would recommend the XHDATA D-219.
Actually the V-115 originally started as a Vite brand. Tivdio bought Vite and then we had the Tivdio V-115. Retekess bought Tivdio...you see the pattern. No Communist Chinese Copycatting....just businesses buying other businesses. *ahem.
I remember this company was called Tivdio. The V 115 was also a Tivdio.
Yes!

It's got a bit of a retro vibe! I speculate that MAMO bought them all (at deep discount, of course.)
My family's 2022 Christmas will be one to remember.

@@ma-mo I have subbed to him. I am sure it is good.
Is it a best deal for overall dxing? Do you suggest this radio for best AM,FM and SW reception?
This radio? No. Not at all.
For the best example of a portable shortwave radio, I can’t imagine less than a Tecsun PL330.
@@RJDA.Dakota quite a bit pricier than this poor radio, but well worth it (the PL-330).
@@ma-mo but I refuse to send them to something less than that.
