I've been watching for months and nothing on yt makes me want to fish more than you, great spirit and enthusiasm. Was it catch and cook? If so how much is a typical day ticket?
Agreed, after 45 years and over 20 countries fished I've avoided dams like the plague...until, in South Africa 2001 on a farmers dam on my tod with a leopard in view (albiet sleeping!) I hooked a +6kg rainbow who blew me away for at least 15mins. We became good mates and lived to fight another day.
same here i like the fellers videos but frankenstein rianbows just aint my scene man ! Browns Sea Trout BullTrout all day long....and Salmo of course,...not had a wild char yet but many stockies, had skellys from red tarn cumbria very rare fish....but the salmon are throughtout the river wear/tyne/tees/yorks ouse/swale/nidd/aire wharfe deerwn and evry thing else that flows to the humber..so with all that withing 80 clicks im nt going to be fishing for browns, cumbria 45 miles away so on the eden in no time, border esk 90 mins drive, jedburgh tevioy kelso etc tweeed a breeze away.....lucky to live where i do as the choices now are amazing now the humber supports salmon runs to the trent and ouse
nice fish i am about to go fishing for trout (rainbow and brown trout0 anyway very nice catch keep this going very good content but it would be better content if these trout were wild still good video keep the content coming .
Its a Florida "flats" hat.I used it flyfishing for Bonefish in the Bahamas,Florida,Seychelles etc.The long peak shuts more light out so you can spot the fish better, and I have some with a neck flap of cloth to cover ears and neck from sunburn. Best to take it off when you run the flats boat though, the long peak catches the wind !!.
hey graeme/mike, whoever does the editing, would it be possible to include the date or just the month at the beginning of the video as this would help when learning new methods so we know what to expect in each month. 'cos this one looks like late summer but its november now.
This is such a strange practise. Ive fished in put-and-take ponds one time before and it gave me absolutly nothing. I would rather catch a 100gram wild fish than a 10kg put-and-take fish. Might aswell be fishing in my aquarium.
In my part of Canada they roll up to a particular body of water with a truck holding a plastic container holding hundreds of small fish and just pump them in through a large hose. These trout are godlike giants compared to the small fish we get.
I fished a couple of these types of fisheries in Ireland and caught a rainbow of 6lb and he fought like a devil for about 10 minutes. It still wasn't as good as catching a wild brown trout of 1/3 the size in a river as a wild brown will jump and shake his head like crazy and will fight right up to the end. I release just about all of my fish as I hate to kill them. When I want to eat fish now I go to a fish mongers. In these manmade put & take fisheries it's fine to keep fish as they're not wild and are artificially raised and overfed. They aren't as well proportioned as wild fish - Those rainbows didn't look natural to me, way too fat.
:) Thanks. It was a wild brown. Only been fishing a few weeks on a free stretch so 2lb Perch is yet to come, no stopping me now though! I've learnt tons from you two chaps. Thanks so much for making the effort!!
haven't fished there yet, fished the one at arundel whose name always escapes me, moorhen and meon springs and chickhall. looks worth a go sometime tbh
The trout are grown on in "stew" or "stock" ponds, then released into lakes. There must be thousands of fisheries like this in the UK,its just how our fishing works, though the majority would not all have really big trout. Or we have larger reservoirs, but again, the average fish size would be a lot smaller. I would love to have cascading mountain rivers where I could wade and flyfish for 15lb wild Steelhead trout, but here in the UK it just isn't available. We have to fish for whatever we can.
I personally feel that's a nice fishing lake one mans trash is another mans treasure as they say! Watching to much Tv and smoking cant be good for anyones well being...
Remember to use figure of 8 retrieve if you want to fish your flies without movement, because it allows you to keep in touch with your fly and if you will be able to feel any takes to the fly. If there are curves in your leader, then you won't feel a take
Thanks for the quick reply. I live in Canada and have never seen one of those, so I did my best to tie one from the picture and was just curious. Can't wait until the ice melts so I can try it out! Thanks for the great show!
Caught a couple of Trout myself on Monday, think I was fairly lucky as soon as I started they felled 100ft tree into the Trout lake... so they were pretty spooky.... would be great to get a double though!
It seems like I’ve been watching you forever and I must say I’ve never seen you keep a fish to eat before. This must be a very special lake or a very special occasion. Hope it tastes as wonderful as it looks.
Have a good one !!...I was going in my boat for Cod tomorrow as weather/wind flat, but cancelled as large tides..I reckon it will be ideal at Dever under those conditions, especially if the water is clear.I may be flyfishing myself and if passing the Dever door I might drop in and see how its going. I hear there have been some real "string-pullers" coming out.
hey mate, enjoying your vids...been a while since i had time to relax and catch some monsters,,,,try putting a polorised lens on your cam and we can then see the fish :)
Yes,there is the difference between "hunting" the fish,or "trapping" them by casting out a bait and waiting. Not just trout, but many fish.I personally like the hunting, mobile approach, but some species just respond better to the waiting game. Like the big carp scene.
Hi guys another great video👍👍if you had caught one of the 20 lb trout would it be a case of catch and release or a case of catch and dispatch as I imagine a trout of that size is a prize/trophy fish you would want to release it so other anglers could experience the catch it's just a little something that poped into my head whilst watching this video and also never seen a blue trout looks amazing.... keep up the good work guys maybe a video on fishing for slabs of bream in Ireland
Another great film. I liked Dever and Avington [ I new Sam Holland very well RIP] I went to Sutton..... only one time, never again. The owner has a very bad attitude, is so arrogant, rude and treats his guests as lowlife?? Blacksmiths is nice a nice fishery. Keep em coming Graeme, You are the complete angler.
Hi Graeme love the videos have you ever consider coming over to New Zealand and fishing for the monster canal fish that grow 40lb plus it truely is a spectacular fishery and I know a few people including my self who wouldn’t mind showing you around our beautiful country
Only seen documentaries and the scenery is stunning.Wife has been, but closest I have come is Cairns. Maybe I should think of covering it. I read most of the Zane Grey books about the stripie fishing. Wonder if its still as good ?
TAFishing definitely cover it after covering it you’ll be wanting to come over and even wanting to catch one of the monsters the trophy fish like recently a 42lb brown trout was caught over here .03 oz from the world record
Wait are those trapped fishes lol? I thought it was a wild river all this time... Not my thing personally but whatever you enjoy old man, good job and nice fish
Gareth Short - try powerbait on a tiny hook - leader- swivel then bullet weight to your regular line- gotta use 2-4lb leader otherwise they won’t bite! Trout are very smart!
Graeme I'll take luck over skill EVERY time mate, the tides here in Weymouth are massive tomorrow so I think it's time for a sole hunt tomorrow night, went for squid last night bagged 8 for the freezer
We have done a film showing doubles on 4-weights,and I did try someone's 2-weight for doubles but that's going too far.No doubt someone has netted a 15 pounder on a 2-weight though.Main thing is you enjoy catching your fish and don't get caught up in the tackle fashions.
I have never understood why people click on a video knowing it’s at a small still water where the grow double figure trout just to moan about the size of the fish?
I like your videos, but why do you hold the trout this way? I think its not the best one... With pike its fine but thats different i guess. Whats your opinion on this matter?
The trout had already been given the obligatory brain shutdown with a steel priest,so I don't see the point in carrying it away cradled like a baby....it's deffo dead.
My friend told me about this stream and said there was Brown trout in there I thought he was muddled up because trout are really rare near me so I went there with a spinner and some worm and hooked a 3lb wild browny on a worm jheez they just wiggle and jump but because the stream was so tiny he didn’t have anywhere to swim so I got him in and I hooked a few on my spinner but couldn’t land them I thought that was big
Graeme, this is not fishing. Would rather see you catch 3 Brownies to a pound on a Scottish Loch. These are stew pond fed fish reared on a diet of high protein pellets. They are practically tame.
I'm sorry to go against the grain but I find this sort of "trout fishing' grotesque. Those fish have abnormal girth for their length; they're not natural. And as for 'blue' trout and 'tiger' trout: what abominations. No, I'll take wild trout fishing any day even if anything over 2lbs is rare.
Fishery rules on most put-and-take Trout fisheries...No fish to be returned...I personally would like to see them returned,as you can only eat so much trout meat. However while Trout up to about 3lbs seem to survive Ok,the big fish do not...I think it will eventually come round whereby you could pay a day ticket, catch and keep say two trout, then fish on as catch-and-release.
fieldsports Scotland - here in the US they stock lakes and ponds and for the most part the fish only survive into June. Come July the ones not caught end up floating into the water due to the high water temps.
Omg. Reminds me of those geese they force feed for the livers. Sorry not my kind of fish to catch. It looks like a stuffed pig. I dry fly for wild browns and they are far nicer than these farmed rainbows.
thats why i never fish for game fish,,,,,, killing them ,,,,,its most likely because ive always course fished and released them to fight another day ,each to their own ,,
Its called visual fishing.Trying to cast to a trout you can actually see. The actual fishing the fly bit might only take a few seconds if you get the presentation right. You can often see the trout take the fly.
My answer to these negative naturalised moaners, go fish the streams, brooks and rivers for beautiful brownies, brook trout and Grayling, nobody is stopping you, this man fishes ALL waters, today he is fishing a small Stillwater and catching what's in there. Why are you watching something that you have so much hate for, get a life.
Decent fish but I prefer wild trout fishing they fight propper good especially the browns
That’s niiiiice, trying to find someone who gives a sht
You guys need to get a polarising lens for you camera! Would be an awesome advantage to you.
That's the nicest kept Fishery i have ever seen Graeme. It looks like a high end Golf Club.
Great upload.
Steve in Fife.
Huge trout! I wanna try that place!
I grew up in the west of Ireland and a wild brown of 5 lb would be longer than those fish
i agree from derry
Fermanagh has great fishing, especially pike, as you can see from my profile pic
Those rainbow didn't jump but a 5lb wild brown would be a hell of a fight and would definitely jump and shake his head like crazy.
awesome video. far out that blue trout looked so cool at the beginning plus the tiger trout as well.
I've been watching for months and nothing on yt makes me want to fish more than you, great spirit and enthusiasm.
Was it catch and cook? If so how much is a typical day ticket?
Would rather catch a wild, non-steroidal, brownie any day of the week.
Agreed, after 45 years and over 20 countries fished I've avoided dams like the plague...until, in South Africa 2001 on a farmers dam on my tod with a leopard in view (albiet sleeping!) I hooked a +6kg rainbow who blew me away for at least 15mins. We became good mates and lived to fight another day.

yup
They prob got names like carp
Not catch and take
nice fish i am about to go fishing for trout (rainbow and brown trout0 anyway very nice catch keep this going very good content but it would be better content if these trout were wild still good video keep the content coming .
All I need now is a loaf of brown bread and some lemon juice. Nom Nom Nom!
Love the peak/hat Gra.....superb and interesting watch as always and I've never fly fished in my life, nor want to !
Shame, it's a completely different game to any other type of fishing. And I love them all.
Wow, nice trout! Good job. What a Beautiful lake!
Good video graham, great fish
Time for a visit to Dever springs 👍🏻
Hey Graeme I'm a big fan in Kentucky, USA, I'm a largemouth bass catch and releaser
nice fishing Graeme, either of those fish look big enough to feed you for a week👍lol
hey graeme/mike, whoever does the editing, would it be possible to include the date or just the month at the beginning of the video as this would help when learning new methods so we know what to expect in each month.
'cos this one looks like late summer but its november now.
Only done a few weeks ago. We have around 60 new films already on file and we never know which one we will put up,or when, but good idea.
Just to note I'd also find this useful!
yess needs to be added
Lovely video Graham! Keep it going !
I don’t care about the exacts. Good fishing. Good stuff. Love it. Keep it up.
Any advice for winter fly fishing for trout, i am new to this, what flys or rigs would you use either fly or spool have u tried the shrimp nymphs yet?
Get lots of trout fun stuff keep the vids rolling
Thanks and greetings from Kayseri.
well done nice trout. Could you fish brenig resevoir or clywedog resevoir plz.thanks berwyn
I love that blue trout... hacka beautiful... too bad we don't have those stock here
This is such a strange practise. Ive fished in put-and-take ponds one time before and it gave me absolutly nothing. I would rather catch a 100gram wild fish than a 10kg put-and-take fish. Might aswell be fishing in my aquarium.
Awesome I love your videos ! 🎣

Stunning trout id love to hook one of these
Great video (y)
Awesome video Graham so what was the final weight of the 💪monster trout mate. ?👌👍
I think they weighed it at 11-8 .
I fished a couple of these types of fisheries in Ireland and caught a rainbow of 6lb and he fought like a devil for about 10 minutes. I'm only 12 but I have that exact rod
What difrence does it make if your 12?
Caught a monster brown trout today, at least 7lb.. DROPSHOTTING!!! Had to tell someone!!!
That's a great fish, especially if it was a wild Brown. Bet that pulled a bit harder than a 2lb Perch !!
:) Thanks. It was a wild brown. Only been fishing a few weeks on a free stretch so 2lb Perch is yet to come, no stopping me now though! I've learnt tons from you two chaps. Thanks so much for making the effort!!
Dropshotting is for benders
haven't fished there yet, fished the one at arundel whose name always escapes me, moorhen and meon springs and chickhall. looks worth a go sometime tbh
Guess you mean Chalk Springs at Arundel. That can also be a good clear water venue for stalking bigger trout.
yes mike, that's the one, thanks
I like this vid cool catch 👌🏼
I've seen ponds bigger than that, it was a bit, 'shooting fish in a barrel'.
The trout are grown on in "stew" or "stock" ponds, then released into lakes. There must be thousands of fisheries like this in the UK,its just how our fishing works, though the majority would not all have really big trout. Or we have larger reservoirs, but again, the average fish size would be a lot smaller. I second that. Great video by the way
I personally feel that's a nice fishing lake one mans trash is another mans treasure as they say!
Watching to much Tv and smoking cant be good for anyones well being...
I've not got a tv and I don't smoke.
There's always one.
were gonna be carp anglers soon
Remember to use figure of 8 retrieve if you want to fish your flies without movement, because it allows you to keep in touch with your fly and if you will be able to feel any takes to the fly. If there are curves in your leader, then you won't feel a take
All good things come to an end.
Hey Graeme, is the Pearly Daddy weighted with lead wire as well or is it just the bead head and the wire wrap around the body?
Tungsten bead head gives it the weight. They are tied by Sid Knight so I don't know what the underbody dressing is.
Thanks for the quick reply. I live in Canada and have never seen one of those, so I did my best to tie one from the picture and was just curious. Can't wait until the ice melts so I can try it out! Thanks for the great show!
I don't know to much about trout fishing but I reckon you could catch one on a small single hook spoon or jig ?
Caught a couple of Trout myself on Monday, think I was fairly lucky as soon as I started they felled 100ft tree into the Trout lake... so they were pretty spooky.... would be great to get a double though!
It seems like I’ve been watching you forever and I must say I’ve never seen you keep a fish to eat before. This must be a very special lake or a very special occasion. Hope it tastes as wonderful as it looks.
gracious that would feed a family of 10
i need to get into this fly fishing game :)
any chub fishing coming up?
or perch/pike? would love to see a comeback of dropshot diaries!!!!
I wish stocked trout in the states grew this big
going to dever tomorrow hopefully catch a double
Have a good one !!...I was going in my boat for Cod tomorrow as weather/wind flat, but cancelled as large tides..I reckon it will be ideal at Dever under those conditions, especially if the water is clear.I may be flyfishing myself and if passing the Dever door I might drop in and see how its going. Great vid but I prefer more natural type fishing..keep them coming though
hey mate, enjoying your vids...been a while since i had time to relax and catch some monsters,,,,try putting a polorised lens on your cam and we can then see the fish :)
better off catching a 1lb wild brownie
The beauty of this channel and it’s people. They’re passionate about all types of fishing.
i am told that fly fishing is akin to hunting the fish out - unlike other types of fishing where you are waiting for them - ATB
Yes,there is the difference between "hunting" the fish,or "trapping" them by casting out a bait and waiting. Not just trout, but many fish.I personally like the hunting, mobile approach, but some species just respond better to the waiting game. Like the big carp scene.
Are you aloud to fish for trout with a float like you would any other fish or do you have to by law fly fish for them ect ect
Most places are fly only. But some allow use of a bite indicator which is pretty much doing what a float does.
What would be a good, cheap 7/6 weight fly line?
Frankenstein would be proud
That is huuuge
Hi guys another great video👍👍if you had caught one of the 20 lb trout would it be a case of catch and release or a case of catch and dispatch as I imagine a trout of that size is a prize/trophy fish you would want to release it so other anglers could experience the catch it's just a little something that poped into my head whilst watching this video and also never seen a blue trout looks amazing.... keep up the good work guys maybe a video on fishing for slabs of bream in Ireland
That second fish , healthy , fat, and good colouring !!!
What an "incredible sized pond Rainbow" .......
Well Done ...
Cheers "Down Under Mike" ...

How much does it cost to go there?
Hi great vid caught a 20ib carp today😀😀😂
Racing at Trent nice what type
Do you not release the trout back into the lake or does it die?
Is this fly only?
Wait are those trapped fishes lol? I thought it was a wild river all this time... Not my thing personally but whatever you enjoy old man, good job and nice fish
why do they grow them to the size that Frankenstein would be proud of? that really doesn't look natural.
all of a sudden i feel the need to trout fish... never done it before, can u catch them without using a fly because ive never fly fished before
Gareth Short yeah some trout fisheries you can use fly or worm mate
Gareth Short - try powerbait on a tiny hook - leader- swivel then bullet weight to your regular line- gotta use 2-4lb leader otherwise they won’t bite! Trout are very smart!
Could you come and fish llun breinig reservoir in wales or llun padan in Llanberis North Wales
Graeme I'll take luck over skill EVERY time mate, the tides here in Weymouth are massive tomorrow so I think it's time for a sole hunt tomorrow night, went for squid last night bagged 8 for the freezer
I hear they have been getting Cuttlefish as well...last year's top Cod bait. Could do with getting some myself.
I wonder how long it takes a fish like these to get to this size.
I believe about 5 years.
I look at those fish and I think of.... Dinner!!!
Literally fish in a barrel...congrats, I guess?
Clonker!!!!!
if that wasnt a stocked fish u would have never got that in with the pressure u had on it
Great video! I'm thinking of starting a fishing channel I don't suppose anyone has any advice?
Maniacs gaming just have fun when doing it and be yourself
Some Bloke thanks I'll try to
7/8 Weight fly rods are for salmon!!! Its recommended 5/6 now!!!
We have done a film showing doubles on 4-weights,and I did try someone's 2-weight for doubles but that's going too far.No doubt someone has netted a 15 pounder on a 2-weight though.Main thing is you enjoy catching your fish and don't get caught up in the tackle fashions.
Wise words TAFIshing! Its The Angler that counts, not the gear!
Depends on the distance you want. On big Stillwaters I use an 8.
I have never understood why people click on a video knowing it’s at a small still water where the grow double figure trout just to moan about the size of the fish?
The peak on that Hat T He he you could a measure on the side tight lines
People think I am telling stories when I tell them my PB was 19.8 lb rainbow from there :)
Each to their own but it's not for me, give me a tumbling North Country river with pools and riffles and 1lb+ is a good fish.
carp sizes
Those aren't monsters, THOSE ARE TITANS, MY GOODNESS THEY'RE BIG!!
No more Dever springs :( closed and doesn’t look like it’s opening again
I like your videos, but why do you hold the trout this way? I think its not the best one... With pike its fine but thats different i guess. Whats your opinion on this matter?
I think the priest made it ok to hold it like that.
But i do agree that big fish shouldn't be gilled, even pike should be supported as well as gilled.
The trout had already been given the obligatory brain shutdown with a steel priest,so I don't see the point in carrying it away cradled like a baby....it's deffo dead.
I was not aware of that at the time I commented. Then sorry for bothering you :D
Would they bite if you used streamers???
Undoubtedly, but many fisheries have rules on the size of fly allowed.
oh ok
Each to their own.
Yh them monster trout are probably injected with antibiotics
why do you kill them?
all the less great vid
Fishery rules on most put-and-take Trout fisheries...No fish to be returned...I personally would like to see them returned,as you can only eat so much trout meat. However while Trout up to about 3lbs seem to survive Ok,the big fish do not...I think it will eventually come round whereby you could pay a day ticket, catch and keep say two trout, then fish on as catch-and-release.
TAFishing I fish broomhill fly fishery In Scotland and it's a cnr ticket all fish swim away happy 3lb + 20lb
That's good to hear.Must be the colder water up there helps them survive better.
fieldsports Scotland to eat them pedejo.
fieldsports Scotland - here in the US they stock lakes and ponds and for the most part the fish only survive into June.
Shark bait
thats why i never fish for game fish,,,,,, killing them ,,,,,its most likely because ive always course fished and released them to fight another day ,each to their own ,,
I would quite happily put all the trout back I catch,I don't have a problem with that at all. Maybe it will come in the future.
Pretty nice fishes but 70 plus quid to only catch 4 fish is an extortion I’ll never pay that money for 4 fish u must be mad
Unnatural fish 🎣😐
What is the charge to fish there?
Check their website. They offer a variety of tickets.
Polite question,in a PC country. Why do most of you these days, have your reel mounted round the wrong way.??
That's the right way for me.
U spend more time casting than fishing the fly
Its called visual fishing.Trying to cast to a trout you can actually see. The actual fishing the fly bit might only take a few seconds if you get the presentation right. You can often see the trout take the fly.
My answer to these negative naturalised moaners, go fish the streams, brooks and rivers for beautiful brownies, brook trout and Grayling, nobody is stopping you, this man fishes ALL waters, today he is fishing a small Stillwater and catching what's in there. Why are you watching something that you have so much hate for, get a life.
Thanks for that comment...hits the nail right on head...
Mike James spot on comment !!!
What a clonker!
