- I recently finished reading a couple of books about Mary Tudor, sister of King Henry VIII and Queen of France; it got me thinking about how fearless some of these women in the Tudor period really were. By today’s standards they would not be considered as brave (depending on what part of the world you live in of course), but in 16th century England the things these women did may have been considered reckless and disobedient by their male counterparts.
Just found you. Love ur video 😍. I have always and will always love Catherine of Aragon. She is my role. A Brave and Fearless queen
enjoyable series - thank you for feeding my interest
flossnrog Pain. Thank you for checking out my podcast! -Rebecca
I disagree that Catherine of Aragon was the most brave. Brave and fearless? Sure. But she had the protection of Spain behind her as well, so she knew Henry was somewhat, if only a little bit, checked by that fact. Most of the other Tudor women were English, and only had the protection of the English monarch of the time. So going against their wishes was EXTREMELY dangerous for them. Deadly at times.
I enjoy your podcast. i learn a lot about history.you make it enjoyable to learn
Thank you!
Catherine of Aragon deserved much better, also Mary I.
