Gorgeous simple, elegant cheese and cracker set. Thank you thank you for hunting up the matching piece and saving that set. Love that big footed EAPG bowl, too. Thank you for the teachable moment. Smooth is always better.
The large footed EAPG bowl was made for a Victorian plateau mirror. Candlelight or sunlight, elevate those elaborately patterned light catchers. Yippee. At 70, I sure don’t feel fire polished. I feel more like roasted and toasted too long. LOL. That small gate leg table is perfect for a console table behind the couch. Clear it off and dress it up for the child’s table during the holidays. Ain’t they going to feel special. No more rickety old card tables.
LOL! "I called him a lecherous old goat"!!! I fell out of my platform rocker over that remark! Dang, that was hilarious! Yes, always rub your glass and use your references books! I prefer Westmoreland English Hobnail because it's as smooth as a kitten's ear... (and apparently yours too, at the moment, lol!)
Thank you for taking us along shopping Scott! I also enjoy when you help educate us and teach us something that we might not know about class and collectibles.🎉Happy thrifting.🤗
An idea about the green plastic sandwich plates is that they went with a picnic basket set? I probably would have gotten it and used it for crafting. My ears perked up when you mentioned a new cat, I hope you do.😸
Cats do not like their whiskers touching the sides of the food bowl, so use a shallow bowl or plate. Wouldn't that fruit bowl look lovely with a tossed salad when the ladies who lunch visit?
Ha ha Scott, now you are going to have folks go to their Hair Salon/Barber Shop and ask to be fire polished. You might just start a new trend 🤣👏🤣. Tomorrow when I hit my favorite South Jersey Goodwill, the people massaging the numerous cut glass/pressed glass pieces, I will know they are loyal Fans of yours‼️ Always fun to pick your brain ⭐️❤️⭐️ Thanks for sharing 👏👏.
Our old Baptist church fellowship hall cupboards were chock full of vintage jadeite dishes! Eeeeek! If hubby hadn't been the pastor I would have spirited some away! 🤫
Great teaching moment Scott, I loved the insert with the lady talking about the old guy and her ear, and I giggled out loud when you said” I’ve been fire polished! “ 🤣🇨🇦👏
Great vlog Scott. Watched a vlog today filmed a manager's personal tour of the back of Goodwill. It was about how they sort. All the Goodwills have blacklights now to check all green glass for 'glow'.
I watched that too-tyce tyce baby on RUclips-very informative behind-the-scenes at goodwill- in which they admit that everything good goes to their online store and that they don’t really like resellers…
Ironically, now some pieces of Miss america are more expensive than westmoreland english hobnail...it was only made 3 yrs versus the decades english hobnail was made. Also only a handful of items made in Miss America versus 100s in English hobnail.
Hi Scott, very impressive Persimmon The cheese and crackers set. But I always turned glass over to see the ware on the bottom, not the mark, always LOL Thanks for sharing again, Scott, keep up the great videos..
Hi Scott, Loved those green plastic plates. I would have nabbed them. Don’t know why, just unique I guess. And the amber cheese and cracker set was a real find! ❤️👍
I think the green plastic is from the dollar store. I have seen so much stuff at the Goodwill for a higher price when it came from the dollar tree. I found the 2 sets of the white fire king swirl and shell pattern dishes. . I want to keep them. The quality is amazing.
I remember in the late 90s/early 2000s that those vintage gate-leg tables were on FIRE with collectors/antiqers. You couldn't touch a decent one for less than $350, it seemed. To see a fair conditioned one for just $20 bucks?!! 😮 Thanks for the teachable moment on the glass. I'd already picked the nicer one by color and sheen, but didn't know anything about fire polishing. 😊😊😊
😂 I love your videos. I love learning from you. You have a certain je ne sais quoi about you. Thank you for teaching us important lessons. Next time I'm out thrifting, I will try not to Google it. ☺️
Has anyone ever told you that you kind of resemble Howie Mandel? I think thats the actor/comedian who you remind me of. Thanks for sharing your hauls. I like observing your shopping process.
Eapg 🙌🌟 Scott I came across the video with the lady who said she was drunk and all the wacky stuff on it including the line you can go to one store..I couldn't stop watching 😂. By the way why was no one at the store at 8:55 in the morning?
Too funny w that lady at the country club. Where do you find that stuff, you are so funny. I bought a box filled with english hobnail in the late 90s at the buckingham pa auction. I have the luncheon dishes, water glasses and champagne glasses, 8 of each. They are gorgeous, I paid next to nothing.
@@teresafaulkner4874 When he was driving around and talking with Vinny, few vids back... -- I thought Scott has a *"radio"* voice. Some should go back & listen...I think he was driving under an overpass or something. *Nice* *voice* *Scott!!*
I love ' Teachable Moments" with Scott. Thank you.

It's nice when people have a purpose for their life. Putting cheese and cracker sets back together, seems as good a goal as any. 😂
Love, love this comment!
Thank you for the glass lesson. I love learning. You're a great teacher. I like your style.
Couldn't agree more or said it better. Thank you Scott
So happy to hear you mention CAT. When?
Great Show & Tell! You should do that more often
I just refinished my mom’s gateleg table…happy memories of sitting around that table in her 1940s tiny kitchen above her antique store…
The pressed glass fruit bowl is Beautiful

I still enjoyed thrifting with you today, Scott, even if you were cruising in third gear.
I enjoy the education! I love the fruit bowl!!

that gate legged table looked starved. the wood just looked starving for some oil.
I absolutely *loved* the lesson at the end. Thank you!!!
I agree! I’m picking my glass up now
Thank you Scott beautifully done.
I liked the cheese and cracker set. My cat will only eat from a plate. Nothing touching his whiskers. I’ve heard this issue called ‘whiskey fatigue’
Love your lessons. Thank you!
Thank you Scott!! I always enjoy learning!! ✨️✨️
I should've waited....your ears are *smooth* LoL 😂
Thank you for the information, Scott! I always love learning from you 🫶
Haven't seen a turkey toilet for ages. I've never found one in the wild. 🦃🚽
And now I have The Banana Splits song stuck in my head. 🍌😂
We’re drowning in turkey toilets here. I’ve never seen goofus glass (in my life).
@@Kathy22211 Same here with goofus glass.

Thanks for the lesson Scott 😊

Thanks again for the teaching moment.
Thanks Scott. You can definitely tell the fire polished from the other one. Always learning something new from you ☺️. 🕊️
SCOTT.... I have learned and I only knew which was best. THANKS FOR TEACHABLE MOMENTS.your teaching is sticking in my skull.
Cats whiskers would be irritated to have dig deep into the deep compote to eat!!! Yes, a cat needs shallow saucer to eat!
Thanks Scott.. another fun thrifting video.

Is there a kitty in the near future? The glass lesson was great. I hope there will be more!
Yes, a new kitty cat is in the cards (according to Scott)
Well done. Excellent lesson today. Thank you 😊
Thanks Scott! Great lesson on how to tell the difference between the makers and the better quality of the Sugar Bowl and Creamer sets.
Thankyou Scott for teaching us and so much more fun!😊
Yes I can see you in a Thriftstore when you're 95 looking for cheese and crackers plates. Maybe not for reselling but just for the fun of it!😅
Beautiful buys, as usual! Find me a cut glass rose bowl, I will buy it from you.

Without seeing the video i think that the second set is more expensive. It certainly looks higher quality and more fine in detail.

OK, Irene. Why were you fooling around with Uncle Henry's ear? BTW, you mentioned kittens three times tonight.
