If you're in the market for a W204 C63, I highly recommend going for the 2012-2015 facelifts. They've addressed a lot of issues that the 2009-2011 had. Including the infamous head bolts breaking and causing headgasket leaks. Also the navigation system on the 09-11 was pop up and had issues with the motor to lift it up and back down. Oil pressure sensor failure was also rectified. And if you can spend a few extra bucks and go for the P31 package as it comes with red calipers, carbon trim on the interior, an extra 30hp as Mike mentioned. But also the two tone red and black leather, and most are speced out with a LSD. I've had my 2013 P31 package for 2 years now and I doubt that I'll ever sell it. Something about that 6208 cm3 sound that makes any bad day melt away. Great review Mike. Keep the videos coming on this beast. 👍
How do you like your CLK63? I saw some around the market and I notice they’re pretty affordable (other than the black series lol). Deciding between that and a C63, you should do a video on your CLK63 👍🏼
The clk63 is a great car! The coupe holds its value very well and is cheaper than the C63 coupe. Clk63 makes a few hp less than the performance pack c63. Its quick in stock form! The clk was made to be more of a luxury car, than a sports car. The exhaust note is alot quieter and the gearbox is kind of slow compared to the C63. If you like the look of the clk, go for it. I think it looks good and it has the same 6.2 engine. They are alot rarer than the c63. Check my RUclips channel for some videos. Black series is too expensive lol. JM speedshop on youtube did a nice review on the CLK63.

Correct. It is the last that was build with this type of engine and brutality. I own a T-Modell C63 Facelift since view weeks and it makes me smile every time I start this impressive machine. I will enjoy it as long as I can.
Not Just V8s, Ford couldn't even build a new Focus Rs to meet the emissions regulations so haven't bothered. The end of the internal combustion engine is seriously beginning to show in Europe. It doesn't help with countries like France, UK and Norway looking at no emission cars sales only and other countries following suit.

Any issues with the engine? Heard that some of these cars had problems with the head bolts (which is fixable but expensive) Thinking of picking one up once the warranty runs out on my 07 e550.
@@diablocls55 Besides headbolts, some have their cams and lifters destroyed, as its pretty common issue. Its less common on face-lift 2012+. The AMG tech told me he's changed about 30 cams on pre face-lift and yet to see a 2012+ come in with ticking cams. But it has happened based on forums.

The last 13:30 - 15:00 says it all and any true enthusiast would wholeheartedly agree. Having driven a boat load of older AMG's and a handful of newer AMG's, I would and do pick the older cars any day of the week.
I do a 4.6 0-60 with my machine build engine C43. I also have a C300 w204 that I love love even if it's not an amg. For $35K the C63 w204 is a super bargain.

F***kin awesome car. I really miss mine even more now. Really sucks that I broke my leg only 2 months after I sold all my DJ equipment and pumped some savings in as well to put a large down payment on my C63. It was huge fun the time I owned it as I was able to hold on to it for 8 months and them the hammer came when my work car engine blew up😩😩. I could not keep using it to do work commutes as it was never bought for that. The price of them has typically dropped by around 4000 grand in the last 3 years. And I am sure 1 day there will be one on the market that isn't abused and I may dip in again. But for now I am happy with my C43 coupe. And I get to enjoy your AMG Mike.
I am currently looking at a 2011 C63 AMG with performance package and a 2014 C63 AMG 507 Edition, difference in pricing is around 20%, the first one has more oem carbon fiber parts, and look cooler I think.. Cheers and thanks for a great vid👍
They already did confirm it's a hybrid I-4. I think that's part of why the CEO, Tobias Moers, left AMG and went to Aston Martin. Supposedly he threw a bit of a tantrum when Mercedes foisted the decision on AMG to use that drivetrain for the next generation C63.
Just bought a ‘12 but have had some issues W/ Valve covers and Fuel sending unit. Make sure you have extra Cash laying around and prepare for the gas station everyday. ;)
I've had 2 W204s and thinking about a W205 - do you have overall regrets or mainly just the sound? Doesn't W205 have a good sound (though different) also, maybe too refined?
@@VersanGetryx No regrets at this point. Took a little time to get used to it. You'll love the new interior and the sound. Not to mention I did a pull to 170 and it wanted to keep going. I ran out of safe road. Go for it!

I’ve got a 204 c300 and I recently drove a new turboed c300 and while the new one was faster, it felt wrong/unpredictable when I was on the throttle. I think you need to understand '63' has been a marketing term since the W204 (and W211 E class) came out. As you noted, it harkens to history, the red pig racing car, and 6.2 is mighty close to 6.3. But with the W205 and all the other models (E, S, GLE, G, GT, etc.) using the 4.0, it solidified that '63' is a trim level, not an engine identifier (in the same way Porsche has a "Turbo S" version of the Taycan, a car with no engine). Add to that the '43' and '53' AMGs mean nothing in terms of displacement or cylinder count, either. Just trim/performance levels.
The1 foot roll out makes your 0-60 a lower time when using draggy with that feature turned off it will show a slower time but that is the true 0-60 1 foot roll out is a disadvantage because of the drag tree setup. So if you go to a drag strip your time will show quicker. But that time is not accurate. Draggy is correct as long as you turn off one foot roll out
How much do they go for in the UK, a decent model in Western Europe goes for around €25K. U can find some models for around €15K, but with high mileage, and probably bad maintenance.
Mike don't do it, I bought 2 different screens to put in my 507 and there both shit. They are terrible quality and don't function properly. I just put my original infotainment back in yesterday. Don't waste your time or money. Trust me.

You should know yourself anything that isn't OEM will never function 100% perfect or fit as good as original. I took the risk, I bought the latest screens from dmp car design and ckm car design, I have receipts to prove it.

Headers and a tune on a m156 will net you somewhere in the 470-480 rwhp zone (580ish flywheel) tune only will net you over 500hp flywheel either way well over the 510 up you are thinking
Mike get a 2018+ Mercedes E63s 612HP / 627LB Torque. People are getting 2.7 00-60mph real world & 700HP/Torque on Dyno. It's very underrated from Mercedes.
The decision to make a 4 cylinder C63 will get people to buy M3s/M4s to at least have an V6. Man it hurts to see Mercedes destroying their AMG lineup :/
While the W204 C63 has dropped a lot in price - I see kids parents buying the car and then comes the whining. It cost to much to drive and it's expensive to maintain. They end up leaving the car, sitting on their driveway and never really drive it. I have seen a few sell their car and purchase a Honda SiR or a Subaru. So the question is this - Can you afford a Merc = Even an old one, you need to make some good money. Keep up the good videos.

Just picked up 2012 c63 AMG with P31 package. Got her tuned with Eurocharge tune..
C63 also came as black series model. I own a 15 507 and yeah im never going to get rid of mine its just too much fun.

There is no replacement for that car 2 or 4 door. However, I let mine go a week ago for the W205. I miss that sound already...

But with the W205 and all the other models (E, S, GLE, G, GT, etc.) using the 4.0, it solidified that '63' is a trim level, not an engine identifier (in the same way Porsche has a "Turbo S" version of the Taycan, a car with no engine).
Add to that the '43' and '53' AMGs mean nothing in terms of displacement or cylinder count, either. Just trim/performance levels.
The1 foot roll out makes your 0-60 a lower time when using draggy with that feature turned off it will show a slower time but that is the true 0-60 1 foot roll out is a disadvantage because of the drag tree setup. So if you go to a drag strip your time will show quicker. But that time is not accurate. Draggy is correct as long as you turn off one foot roll out

How much do they go for in the UK, a decent model in Western Europe goes for around €25K. U can find some models for around €15K, but with high mileage, and probably bad maintenance.
Usually around that same sort of price range. Some good ones appearing around 20k at the minute

Mike don't do it, I bought 2 different screens to put in my 507 and there both shit. They are terrible quality and don't function properly. I just put my original infotainment back in yesterday. Don't waste your time or money. Trust me.

@@jason5674 Cheap for me is probably out of your budget. Why would I cheap out on a 507? What car do you own? You should know yourself anything that isn't OEM will never function 100% perfect or fit as good as original. I took the risk, I bought the latest screens from dmp car design and ckm car design, I have receipts to prove it.

Headers and a tune on a m156 will net you somewhere in the 470-480 rwhp zone (580ish flywheel) tune only will net you over 500hp flywheel either way well over the 510 up you are thinking
Mike get a 2018+ Mercedes E63s 612HP / 627LB Torque. People are getting 2.7 00-60mph real world & 700HP/Torque on Dyno. It's very underrated from Mercedes.

While the W204 C63 has dropped a lot in price - I see kids parents buying the car and then comes the whining. It cost to much to drive and it's expensive to maintain. They end up leaving the car, sitting on their driveway and never really drive it. I have seen a few sell their car and purchase a Honda SiR or a Subaru. So the question is this - Can you afford a Merc = Even an old one, you need to make some good money. Keep up the good videos.
