This so made me cry. I lost the love of my life in March. We talked Sunday night and he died of a heart attack on Monday at 47. I'm taking off at the end of this month whether I'm ready or not. Life is so freaking short. We need to do what we can, while we can.

I am so sorry to hear this about your friend. I also have a friend that bought a van and we were going camping together. We never got to go because she was diagnosed with ALS. I have been a few times. I would love to go to a meet.

I so want to get on the road. My van has been converted and ready. But, my anxiety level is through the roof. I want to start a you tube channel but, I don't have a clue. I am a 5x cancer survivor. I'm getting my check up and I have to go.😊 I am in Southeast Texas.
I started off wanting a tiny home also KYM and then I saw a mini van video on YT and something sparked inside me.

Kim, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 5 years ago. We bought a motor home before he was diagnosed with cancer, and thankfully got to use it some before he died. And I lost my mother 18 months after him…..both of my travel buddies. I have a Kia Soul and want to do this…..with your kitchen idea, I might be able to make the Kia work. It’s too expensive to drive the motor home, I just want to sell it. I am in WA state, if you ever get out to the PNW. I subscribed and will be watching you too.

Yes, they do. We have meetups and travel together to beautiful places. We went from Canada to Key West last year. This year we're Chasing Waterfalls. 🩵🦋🩵
What a brilliant set up. I would need a van that is high enough for me to stand up in, but this van seems to suit Kym so well. I’m amazed at all of the cool tools, equipment & gadgets that are available for living on the road.
I have a kubotan too, that my brother gave me for self defence.

The name of her van reminded me of something. Someone should name their van Towanda for this character : “Towanda” is a reference to the alter-ego of Idgie, a character in “Fried Green Tomatoes.” Idgie refers to Towanda as an “Amazon woman” and introduces herself at least once as “Towanda.” It is also a word you say when you want to be empowered, such as when Evelyn runs her car into the snobby ladies who take her parking spot.

This is so encouraging. My brother and I are occupied taking care of my aging mother, which is good and appropriate. But, I’ve always had wanderlust… maybe because we moved every 3 years and lived in interesting places when I was a child. I miss traveling. I think car and van living is such a wonderful opportunity to travel on a relatively tight budget, so I’ve been enjoying these videos and appreciating so many of these courageous and adventurous people who are sharing their experiences. 4:20 I understand what you are saying, it is all good, but there actually are women living in cars because they can't afford rent - social security is insufficient for them to live. I also know someone who did it to escape her kids who wanted to put her in a nursing home and she decided she was not going to do that. Love this channel. I have to say that safety is a serious issue. I am not living in my car. However, I was in my car at a stoplight and a man tried to open my passenger door. I was in stopped traffic and it was frightening. I always keep my doors locked. I wear an extra key around my neck on a line long enough that it hangs almost to my waist on the inside of my clothes. it's not visible. There's a lot to learn from each other. I love it that everyone is doing it their own way. :)

Its nice that some can choose to live this lifestyle, but many are forced to live in cars or whatever they have, because they cant afford to live on the income they have after retirment or after losing jobs, or divorce, or domestic abuse.... and they dont always have what they need to live comfortably.... glad you ladies have the option
