April/May 2025 I would love to have a few meetups - definitely one around Oregon/Washington. Make sure you're a member of the Facebook Page: Butterfly Tribe Women Who Camp - and keep an eye out for meetups in your area!! I know there is one listed for Washington State and Alaska! Oh My! I realize now that my Nissan Rogue is actually big enough for car camping. So many great ideas to incorporate. Even though I actually RV travel full time with my husband there are times it would be nice to join van life meet ups overnight or longer. I left Lulu and Barbs January meet up on Monday after being a day visitor wishing I could stay! It was a pleasure to meet you. I hope you get one of the Hover Air drones like I showed you. I like the center console in your 2014 much more than the one in my 2016. I don't have the little cubbies on the bottom. Thanks for the tour of your setup. You have given me a couple of ideas to improve my camping setup. I have to be more frugal with gear because I have a dog, and I need a bigger sleeping platform because of the dog and the fact that I am 6'1" and 300 pounds.

    • @OutonaLimbwithKym
      @OutonaLimbwithKym  8 месяцев назад +2

      I do wish my bed was wider. I really miss being able to toss and turn easily. My knee hits my fridge. I drop pillows. And definitely with a dog you need more room. And your height!!!! Are you sleeping on the passenger side? Did you take out the front seat???

    • @mikepetrucha2774
      @mikepetrucha2774 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@OutonaLimbwithKym I do sleep on the passenger side. I just push the passenger seat forward and slide out another board for my head. I have a tri-fold twin mattress that I cut a chunk out on the drivers side so I don't have to move the drivers set. That way I can just jump into the drivers seat if I have to leave a stealth camping site fast.

      So far, I've had really great luck. You can't go wrong with Flying J, Love's, and Cracker Barrell. Those are my top three. Most states have BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land you can park for free - some states have it, but it's called something different. As long as you call and get a permit you can stay. And of course then there are those places you risk, but everyone still does it - hospital parking lots, hotel parking lots, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, apartment complexes . . . There are so many options out there!

    I’m in the process of converting my 2014 CRV. Got a lot of good ideas from your video. I initially started with a 31” wide mattress but it took up nearly the entire back even with seats out. I just layer it flat without under bed storage but am going to change that. Out of curiosity, how wide is the wood that your bed is on?

    • @OutonaLimbwithKym
      @OutonaLimbwithKym  Год назад +2

      I'm actually posting a video Thursday early evening on just the bed platform. I will be including measurements. The actual width of the bed is 2 feet. I wish it were 6" wider, but I still do okay sleeping.

    Good idea about holding the old mattress with those straps! What are the straps that you use? I really like that idea because I’m always rolling my mattress up and trying to stuff it backwards and it keeps falling down

      A friend gave them to me. They're the ones that Uhaul uses when you rent a truck. Heavy duty, but I'm pretty sure you can even use a rope . . . I was always worried that the bed would come falling down on top of my computer. I use three, but could probably just use one.

    The set up looks OK but I don't understand why bloggers don't hoover their cars first and get rid of all those scuffs on the plastic. A camp bed would work as well as having all that wood in the car for the platform. Also, I prefer a set up that during the day when you park up doesn't scream I'm living in my car and I have valuables in here!

    • @OutonaLimbwithKym
      @OutonaLimbwithKym  2 года назад

      Actually, while I was watching it . . . I was thinking the same thing. It needed another vacuum, clearly!! I'm covering some of the scuffs with stickers now. I love my bed. I tried a cot and the sound of the cot drove me crazy. I'm an active sleeper, flipping from side to side all night, and the platform is very quiet. I appreciate your feedback. I'm thinking about tinted windows.

    Your videos are helpful. I'm converting 2014 CR-V currently, to full-time living use. I'm selling my 26' Winnebago Brave. Thus, extreme downsizing. Once all completed, I'm heading to Mexico and beyond. RV is not suitable for where I want to go. I may cheat and buy a teardrop or enclosed trailer. Haven't decided. Weight is always the concern. Thanks. Smile & Be Brave!

    • @OutonaLimbwithKym
      @OutonaLimbwithKym  2 года назад +1

      Thanks!! You really are downsizing!!! Do you follow Brooke & Pippa? She just purchased an older popup camper and apparently her CRV can pull it. The older popups weigh around 1,200. I like the idea of a teardrop, too. I really like the idea of being able to wake up suddenly and hop in the drivers seat and haul butt.

    • @RVLady
      @RVLady 2 года назад +1

      @@OutonaLimbwithKym I'm familiar with Pippi but not the other person. An empty teardrop weight around 800-900 pounds. My CR-V has a tongue weight of 350 and max tow load of 1500 pounds. I'm waffling between a teardrop or enclosed cargo trailer. Most likely going with cargo trailer 4x6. I plan on sleeping in CR-V but I need more storage for toys. Smile & be brave :)

      @@RVLady No, not Pippi. Brooke & Pippa - Pippa is her dog. LOL Yeah, my CRV can only pull 1500 pounds. I dream about a van, but not sure it's worth it. It will cost so much. And Honda!! What a reliable SUV!!!

      @@OutonaLimbwithKym there's a Pippi. She made videos mostly in repairs and belly dancing. No dog as I recall. There are many ppl/women who are solo travelers making vids now. Back in the day, not that many. Lots of men making videos. Right now I'm looking at vids of CR-V full timers. Getting ideas. I've got a few months until I'm on the road again. 😊 & Be brave.
